At 0 to 60 in 14 seconds, the mitsubishi mirage is unsafely slow too.

This car wasn’t built to be a performance vehicle. It’s nice looking, practical, has nice features and is cheap. Every other reviewer has understood this.

jarfors 0-60 is not a measurement for performance cars. It’s is impossible to safely merge onto a modern highway without adequate acceleration. This car does not have adequate acceleration. Period.

@@steveam29 FYI, these guys are doing acceleration tests at Mile High City (Denver). At sea level, where most people live in the US, 0-60 in 10 seconds for the Kicks. BTW, millions of trucks and semis travel the county safely everyday on the highways, most, if not all, are slower. Modern highways are design for these vehicles, not wannabe street racers.

The Kicks is the slowest subcompact SUV because it tiny engine and only 125 HP power. Highway passing is a problem, so just take your time and relax to avoid the speeding ticket.

Way faster than the 1972 Dodge Colt wagon, the1987 Yugo GV or the 1994 Volkswagen EuroVan Camper. And probably more stylish. The 2018 model went from zero to 100 mph in 36.6 seconds , and from 50 to 70 mph in 7.4 seconds. This year's model is reportedly even slower. If you're trying to pass someone, do it on the downhill.

So this replaced the JUKE?! The Juke was turbocharged, available AWD, and option Manual Trans. This KICK looks better but doesn’t perform well.

The Juke cost about $10,000 more and very little cargo space. If you are looking for performance, you are better off buying a real sports car for the price. No one bought the Juke. The Kicks is an urban utility vehicle, best suited for getting around the city.

Interesting I have one and have never had an issue passing people on the freeway. Only issue I had was passing people on a hill on a freeway, couldn't pass 55 mph.

Maybe I just got lucky and got a fast one, I got rid of the airbox and dropped in a K&N cone filter on mine now the thing rips. Definitely not a rocket but faster than most of the cars on the road. And on a good day over 40 miles to the gallon.

Historically I've loved Nissan. Their vehicles just plain last and don't have any trouble. But I've noticed that nearly every Nissan I've had has a manual transmission. That's getting harder to find. CVTs are killing my favorite brand.

I am with you. They used to be super. Few years back I went to looking for an AWD or 4WD daily driver and they had NOTHING that even remotely interested me. CVT's are ruining what could be good cars.

The real problem is that their CVT’s are terrible. They are not reliable. I own 2 Nissans, one is an old Maxima, solid AF, the other is a Leaf, all electric ( fantastic car for daily commute). I would not shop anything Nissan has with a CVT... and that’s almost everything from the Versa to the Pathfinder (which used to be a cool truck based SUV, now it’s just a grocery getter.)

HLMAX Korean cars are excellent Now. 20 years ago they were crummy but times have changed They are now among the safest and most reliable cars available today. The stinger and G70 are superb cars Japan has no answer for.

My 2016 Ford Fiesta with a 1.0 3cyl also has 125hp but 148tq. I can run 0-60 in 8.3 seconds.

brent vance my 96 corolla takes like 10 seconds to hit 60 mph and will stop much faster then this
