I went to test drive. I luv the way CarPlay takes up 3/4 of the screen then your audio uses the other 1/4. perfect set up. a lot of things are played out nicely.

@@edwardvalivonis23 You keep saying that. I do not think it means what you think it means. The Santa Fe is FWD and on a completely different platform. It does use a similar engine, but transversely mounted and with less power. The GV80 is RWD with better fit and finish, completely different suspension, and much better materials and sound deadening with a better ride and handling. Oh, and completely different styling and an available third row. Also the Santa Fe isn't some bad car, but one of the best in the segment and can be equipped to the mid $40k range, so the GV80 Advanced isn't some huge leap in price. The freaking Explorer can cost over $60k, and a fancy "rebadged" Explorer (Aviator) can cost $90k...

It's in my opinion, the modern day vw touareg. Back when we bought mine it was $55 grand. Loaded with everything except the 3 zone climate control. This is honestly the first suv that I've considered giving up my touareg for.

Honestly I think the new MDX will probably be the better buy. The base and advanced models get the previous models 290 horsepower V6 which I think was a very smart move by Acura. Even though the 2.5 4 cylinder puts out 300 horsepower, Mr. Rati as well as other reviewers have indicated that it is still a 4 cylinder and you can tell especially during hard acceleration. I think the variety of models that the MDX will be offered from the base to the A Spec to the Advance will be able to compete with the GV80 not to mention the MDX Type S upcoming that promises to offer good performance and handling........Bottom line not quite ready to crown the GV80 just yet until I see the new MDX models which should be available early next month.

I don't like the fact that you have to pay for the top trim just to get the full digital gauge cluster. I wish they made the the cheaper trim's gauge cluster look nicer like maybe have 2 analog gauges on the side with the small digital screen in the middle. Having an analog gauge on the left with the digital portion on the right just looks seriously unprofessional

Twinkie visuals! Chipotle mention, “Bombay” door console what’s not to like? At 54K seems like a bargain compared to competition. In person, this vehicle is striking IMO. I compare this vehicle to Lincoln Avaitor, Volvo and Lexus RX. Like the looks inside and out of the GV80 best. Joe, I’m just not sold on that HMG 2.5 turbo. Too many issues with their 2.0 turbo and the 2.4 of the past. I’d go with 3.5 turbo six and pay the difference. Good review as always.

Genesis in other hand are made like german looking Hyundai with no uniqueness in mind. Engine: Hyundai, transmission: hyundai and so on. It's like Lexus is Toyota, Acura is Honda and Infiniti is Nissan and yet at huge price difference. Acura NSX is Honda NSX and cost nearly double

Very nice but the big giant engine bay with a 4 banger pulling a 5000 pound SUV. They should just use the V6 and add the 5.0 V8. If I was to buy one I'd go with the 6. The MPGs probably aren't much different.
