The mileage at full western freeway speed (75) on flat ground is 31 and performance is excellent as expected. The first generation of the 3.5L V6 made its Toyota sedan debut in the 2005 Avalon which was my prior car. The engine has gained horses, sophistication, and continues to be a bright spot. We'll see how the 2021 Camry ages. My prior experience over the 197K miles and 16 years was splendid, and the Avalon is still in service with a friend. No. Back in late 2017, I cross-shopped the Accord, Camry, and Mazda 6. Ended up buying the 2018 Accord Touring for multiple reasons: it was the best driving, had the best interior ergonomics, the roomiest interior, and the best overall tech at the time (minus the lack of a surround view camera the Camry had). At that time, you couldn't get memory seats or ventilated seats in the 2018 Camry at any trim level, even the nearly $40K XSE V-6. Those were a deal breaker for me. Toyota rectified that shortcoming with the mid-cycle refresh, but it was three years too late for me. The Camry also had an incredibly jerky 8-speed transmission. Test drove a few and they all had the same issue. The Mazda 6 drove well and had a luxurious interior, but felt dated and the tech was pretty lacking. Plus Mazda's reliability and resale trail Toyota and Honda quite a bit. I still don't regret buying the Accord nearly 4 years and 57K miles later, it has been 100% mechanically reliable so far. There is a reason the Accord is Car and Driver's most winning car of all time on their annual 10 Best List... it is just an all-around great vehicle. Even now, in it's 5th model year, it almost always wins every single comparison test, even against freshly redesigned competitors like the K5 and Sonata.

Even the Malibu 1.5t is quicker than the Accord 1.5t in Motor Trend handling test: "The Malibu lapped our figure-eight course in 27.4 seconds averaging 0.63 g through the process and managed 0.84 g average during lateral acceleration tests" 2018 Accord 1.5t only registered a lateral grip of 0.81g versus 0.78 and a figure-eight time of 27.7 seconds at 0.61g A Malibu 1.5T can be had for US$13,000 good luck finding Japanese competition that inexpensive.

However, at a price range between 30k to 40k, the new boys (Sonata N-line, k5 GT) worth getting a serious look for their outstanding bang for the buck in terms of performance, technology, design, etc.

Hyundai and Kia are junk cars; their reliability not even comparable to well known Toyota’s durability. After owning a Toyota Sienna for about 15 years and racking up over 200k with just routine oil changes and other fluid replacement, I decided to buy Hyundai Sonata in 2017. I didn’t like the fact that I had to change my oil every 3000 miles, this car was 2017 car. I was changing my 2002 Toyota van’s oil every 5000 miles, regular conventional oil, and still going strong to this day. In 2019, I started having acceleration issue with my 2017 Hyundai Sonata that took whole year to figure out what the issue was. They’d fix the issue after a week or few months during some instances, and problem still kept coming back and recurring. The issue didn’t get fixed completely until early 2020, and they had denied all my requests to take back the car and refund me what it’s worth. Horrible company and not even comparable to Toyota in terms of quality of the cars.

My 2020 Camry is very Jekyll and Hyde. I like the look of it, it gets fantastic gas mileage, and it's reasonably comfortable. But the transmission is super jerky, the infotainment sucks, and the interior is cheap and it rattles like crazy and I only have 22,000 miles. I'm sure it will be reliable, but I probably won't buy another. My other car is a 2020 Legacy and that car is built way better. I should have bought the Accord.

Get rid of it then.

Love my Accord. 2019 EX-L Hybrid with 48mpg, drives like a baby Acura, and got it for a steal too. It’s one of those cars that every day you drive it, it reminds you why you wanted it in the first place despite being 2-3 years old.

My 2021 Camry I bought 40 days ago already has interior rattling at low speeds. The else thing that is super annoying is that outside wind noise, it feels like my windows are all open at high speed. I’ve looked it up and it seems that this is one of the flaws of the Camry. I don’t know if it’s true or I should take it back to the dealer.

Have the dealer put more insulation in the dashboard while it is still under warranty. Transmission works as designed for fuel efficiency.

Good Review. Camry is NOT a luxury vehicle . neither are the other two in the title. don't care what the L stands for to Toyota. again NOT a LUXURY vehicle.

Thanks Kobby for saying that! They are incandescent bulbs.

Everything is LED`s and the XLE has blue ambient lighting which streaks across the front of the dash and the XSE has red ambient lighting inside . It makes the car look upgraded at night as well as the very nice leather interior .

Any Toyota is better than any Mazda or even Honda, except the Yaris which is a Mazda rebranded.

You’re located in the same city as I am - that being said. What is the best dealership to get a new XLE at? The Toyota dealership in the town south of you does not have the best reviews.

If I was to get a Camry I would go with the TRD trim
@randyjackson3473 жыл бұрын
That is really an SE with a v6. It is a base model compared to an XLE or XSE ... Does not even have the upgraded LED running lights .

Thank you for this review. I think I’m going with the Toyota just on reliability and innovation. The Accord is nice but it doesn’t have AWD nor a Panoramic Sunroof!
