FIRST DRIVE: The NEW NSX Type S is here and Acura decided to raise the performance bar before killing it off. On the outside of the Type S you will find a redesigned front fascia, rear fascia, new forged wheels, optional carbon ceramic brake rotors, and standard carbon fiber roof. On the inside there are carbon fiber accents, leather/Alcantara seating, and digital gauge cluster. Under the engine hatch the NSX's 3.5L twin-turbo V6 mated to (3) electric motors now produces 600HP & is mated to a 9-speed DCT. Would have been nice to see the car push the limits way more, esp. on a speedway. I used to drive my Maserati on an open road almost this fast, so I'd say a little dissappointing..(the Mazi is long since sold), and I'm a huge Honda and NSX fan (had a 99NSX..that was classic).

The nsx is one of my current favorite cars, I’ve driven one, and it’s truly underrated and under appreciated. The reason? The price. It should have been 110-130k. At 150+ I think the Porsche just makes more sense. At 171k you might as well just go for a gt3.

More to the point, you mean the price for the brand perception wise. Had this car been a Lexus or a European brand, the price would have been more accepted by the market. I too drove one, a 2019, for an entire day. I was surprised at just how much I liked it. Aside from the lack of a beefy V8 engine sound and interior that doesn’t fully match the luxury feel of a Lambo/R8, etc., this car is truly special. I would gladly sell my old R8 for a used NSX if not for 2 reasons: 1) After the global chip shortage, a used NSX has gone up in price to the point of being equal to what I could have paid for one new in 2019. 2) The Type S grille/front bumper design instantly makes the prior one look very dated and even more unattractive. I have google search notifications set for aftermarket NSX Type S front bumper conversion. If someone makes it available, I’ll start shopping for a used NSX again.

So mike, let me ask you a question. What do you think a fair price is for a TT V6 Hybird supercar? McLaren has their 2022 Artura coming out and it's a 3.0L TT V6 plug-in hybrid for $225K base and Ferrari has it's 2022 296GTB a 2.9L V6 TT plug-in hybrid for $349K. Same tech as the NSX only with evolved electric motors and a lighter curb weight. I think then most people will realize Honda was giving a very reasonable deal on their NSX at $157K MSRP for the tech that was only available in the 918, LaFerrari and P1 prior to 2017. All those comments I have read with people whining about the NSX price will kick themselves when they have to pay the brand tax for simply have a Kiwi or a Pony on the hoods of their little V6 hybrid supercars LMAO.

When you adjust for inflation, the regular ‘17 NSX ($150k) was valued at about just as much as the NA1 ‘91 NSX ($90k) when it came out. It was out of reach just as much then as it is now.

It's already sold out everywhere. Unless you're already on the list, you ain't getting one straight from the manufacturer, unless you'd be willing to pay more from a reseller. There's not a car in its price range I'd rather have over it. It's sexy af and is very reliable daily driver (underneath is a tried-n-true Honda 3.5L V6 that's been known to be super reliable).

Hey Joe- Just to clarify for your viewers, these NSX Type S versions are NOT available and were already spoken for as soon as the ordering books opened. Only the larger Acura dealers received allocations and a lot of them then demanded very large markups over MSRP. There was no special consideration to those of us who had purchased 2017-2021 models in the past. Anyways, I just wanted to point that out because from watching your video they might be thinking they will be able to go out and grab one of the 300 cars but as someone that attempted to I can say that unfortunately doesn’t appear to be possible.

I have friends that own super cars and they say the nsx doesnt provide super cars emotion. It may look to us as nice but when you have money and you drive all the other brands like Lamborghini ferrari mclaren r8...you realise its fast but it doesnt provide that feeling. My friend with a svj said the nsx is too heavy and it feels as if the car is driving u not the other way around. Hope i answer your question.

I have an 18 RLX hybrid and 19 MDX Adv Hybrid. Excellent powertrain to provide more performance, handling, and acceleration; while, providing improved mpgs as a side product. Everyone complains about missing tech or design elements you can easily get on an Accord. The NSX isn't a daily driver or made for the hwy for a 12 hr road-trip. It is a track ready garage queen racecar with the flexibility of being able to drive on the open road. No one is buying a Porsche 911 GT3, M-B AMG GT3, Audi R8, or Nissan GT-R because of cooled seats, sound system w/ Carplay, dash design, or messaging seats. The NSX is all about an excellent balance of acceleration, performance, and handling for +150,000 miles reliable miles.
