I love your videos because of your depth of knowledge about cars and the way you impart that knowledge to viewers. What other car journalist talks about the importance of the placement of vents for back-seat passengers or the day-to-day usability of an infotainment screen. Most car reviewers seem to be consumed by zero-to-sixty times and the way the car behaves in the twisties, even for cars whose target market is soccer dads and soccer moms. I also appreciate that you focus on how a car feels more than how it performs. That you do that extemporaneously is both engaging and impressive.

Drove it that day. It's awesome, and at this price point it's great value. Don't really need the paddle shifters (how often you use it anyway?) because the way it delivers power is on point.

S60 here, although i am really enjoying my car now, but i always envy those 3 series or C class people, i feel like a chinese school boy, bringing a heavy backpack with all the thick and heavy textbook to school, while those C's and 3's kids are like those american school kids, have their own locker at school, wearing casually to school....haha what kinda comparison is this....

Hello from Thailand. I just ordered a V60 MY22.5 (that’s what they call it here) with the new longer pure electric driving range and more powerful setup. The feature to switch drive modes is still available in the car but they now requires you to do it via the Sensus as the mode switching wheel has been removed. Can’t wait for my car to arrive. I am wondering if it is worth it to even optimize the car in few months time with Polestar. This time around, the optimization does not improve the overall power output but only tune the throttle response and gear shifts.
@BobbyAngmalaysia2 жыл бұрын
Drive it for at least 3-5 months first... So that you can feel the differences later on
@KipsanBeck2 жыл бұрын
Yo! I also got the v60 MY22.5 arriving next week also in Thailand, already negotiated polestar tune when i purchased, the optimisation does increase the HP (according to the sales person I spoke to, around +15HP) we are getting 455HP already, I read elsewhere it will increase from 455 to 462HP; yours is the first message I saw that there is no increase in power, so let's see. First volvo, let's see how it goes - going from a slightly modified Maserati, it's mental that an old person's station wagon will blow away my old car by 1sec+ 0-100 effortlessly :-)
@willwu16882 жыл бұрын
@@KipsanBeck the info I got is directly from Polestar’s site with regards to the optimization. It is also being questioned and discussed in foreign forums in the so-call T8 ER (Extended Range) drivetrain. I don’t always trust the sales person when it comes to car.
@KipsanBeck2 жыл бұрын
Let's see. In any case 455hp is already pretty crazy even the bmw 340i and rs3 isn't that high, also elec power comes online no lag, I think doesn't need more 5555. I get next week will let u know, Sales ppl generally don't know much so u might well be right
@willwu16882 жыл бұрын
@@KipsanBeck i am not exactly certain why but in Thailand the hp is rated at 460. I am picking up my car this Sunday. The idea is drive it as is for few months and polestar it.

Wow this wagon looks fantastic, it's such a shame that we only get the 'cross country' variant here instead of the normal v60 which has a more elegant/ less rugged look.

Bobby if u don't mind I was wondering why u sold off both of your xc90?🤔
@BobbyAngmalaysia2 жыл бұрын
Eh i beloeve i explained in this video. First one was a heavily discounted media test drive unit that doesnt come with 360 camera, has the smaller battery and smaller fuel tank and black leather. I traded it to a new one when the market has literally no second hand XC90s for a good price and got the newer one which has all the specs and updated processor, battery, fuel tank, B&W, 360 cam, brown leather seats etc and i absolutely love it. But a year later i stumbled upon my dream aston martin rapide s selling at half the market value so i jumped onto the opportunity

Bobby really placed me in a dilemma, have repeatedly watched many of your videos, particularly Volvo videos, tens of hours. You made me like Volvo a lot, and I've viewed and test drove the S60 and S90, love both of them. I've booked the S60 but I'm still very worried on the complicated hybrid technology, more so you reiterated it in some of your videos, particularly this one. Don't like Japanese or Korean cars, also reluctant to pay for other overpriced conti cars. Plan to maybe drive for 7-8 years, and the reliability of the hybrid tech is driving me nuts now. Not sure if I shall proceed with the S60 or cancel it.

T5 should b a better option. I was in dilemma which to choose between XC60 T5 or T8. I change my mind after reading from forum where the xc60 owner couldnt unlock his car in a rainy night.

Maybe you should wait for the ES60, the likely designation of the all-electric S60. I’ve ordered a C40, which I should get in a couple of months, but might switch to the ES60 when it comes out.

Is Volvo a reliable car in Malaysia?
@JOHN-w1i7u9 ай бұрын
It is very.
@wilsonlim25092 жыл бұрын
That isn't right Bobby. Even when you engage the "Charge" mode, the car will still use the electric motor when the demand for power spikes. So technically the car will always have the full power on tap regardless of the battery state of charge although a fully charged battery would allow longer sustained performance than one that is exhausted of charge. This is possible because we don't get to use the full capacity of the traction battery as the car would always reserve somewhere between 10-20% of the battery charge. In terms of reliability, no doubt the engine is putting up quite well despite it's twin charge architecture. However I beg to differ in the terms of performance. It is nowhere better than the equivalent turbo charged engines by likes of BMW, Audi/VW, Mercedes etc. In fact it fared worst.
@BobbyAngmalaysia2 жыл бұрын
I was talking about its response. Absolute zero lag makes daily use a delight. And I don't mean a kickdown, even light throttle application.
