I feel the same but. The bikes are checked again in Mattighofen or in Germany. So ig its fine. Just drove the 2023 790 on Friday and it was fun as hell, everything was on Point.

Chinese politics, China/Russia being an adversary, labor laws, etc would make me nervous about a Chinese bike. The USA is trying to distance themselves from China at this time. Politics aside, I think Chinas quality control has improved enough to be stiff competition in the moto world.

Politics are gibberish. We as citizens only get a fraction of the truth, the rest is propaganda. Besides, literally EVERYTHING is made in China lol. Even that computer/phone that you typed this comment on. Take a look at the bike, give it a ride, and if you like it, buy it. Depending on where you live, you can have it at a good price and you may be able to get a 4 year warranty (we only get 2 yr here in US). I bought one and am enjoying it and the many that I saved.

Enjoy your Chinese bike. Yes there are items that I use daily that are made in China but I don’t have a choice (phones, computers, etc). I make every effort to buy domestic first and from China last.

Enjoyed very much hearing about the sv650s you went up on. You basically described my bike in almost perfect detail... I love my sv650s :D but at least mine has decent tyres and serviced suspension.

It will be a brave soul who purchases a Chinese made KTM ..... I once had a Chinese race fairing literally blow apart on a straight due to the wind pressure on cheap plastic. Also owned a 790 from new that had so many faults it was returned for a refund. (Mixing the 2 does not sound like a good idea in my view)

I know everything is made in China and certain things don’t matter to me as much but… a bike… 😬. I would like to make sure that thing doesn’t fall apart while doing 50-60… only time will tell if they are good. I just want a quality built bike I won’t mind spending my money on 🤷🏻‍♂️

Chinese bikes can be good, cfmoto makes good ones already so i don't doubt that they can't make good dukes as well.

Go for the Honda. It doesn't matter where the KTM:s are produced. They will fail you. Gurantee or not thebike will be in the workshop for more than maintenance. I say this as a KTM owner who still loves the ride but hatet the poor quality.

Then you won't be buying much of anything! I bought two brand new Harleys in the past and was shocked at how many cheap parts were all over those things (way cheaper than anything that I have found on my Japanese or CFMOTO bikes) especially at the ridiculous prices that I paid. It was then that I stopped caring about where they say the country of origin is since (at least here in the US) only 70% or so of components need to be sourced from the US. Everything else can be from wherever and most likely from China, like it or not.
@chriswest2290

@nickolaslewis4416 I wouldn't buy a Harley either. Plenty of good Japanese and European bikes. Triumph. Assembled and alot manufactured in thailand, engine components manufactured in UK. Great bikes. No problem with Thailand. 👍
