The R1S is Rivian's all new SUV. This vehicle is meant to compete with the Tesla Model X, Cadillac Escalade IQ and GMC Hummer EV SUV. On the outside you will find optional 20in wheels, off-road tires, full LED lighting and tow hooks. On the inside there is a large infotainment system, digital gauge cluster and full glass panoramic roof. Powering the R1S are (4) electric motors producing over 800HP. I have the R1S launch edition. It is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned and I've had Lexus GS, Cadillac Escalade, Acura RDX. This vehicle is so thought out and I have no regrets. It's way faster than any sports car, can fit as many people as an escalade, can off road like a jeep and way more reliable than range rover and more luxurious than a German luxury sedan. The craziest part is its still cheaper than a Ford Expedition 😂

This IMO is one of the best proportioned, most thought out vehicles on the market. Not too big, or small, loads of power and torque, decent range, it’s AWD, and amazing towing capacity. It’s comfortably luxurious, but not over the top. Price is still pretty expensive, but compared to everything else, well, everything’s expensive right now. Im thinking this the total package if your in the SUV market.

it is definitely the total package. compared to what it does have, what it doesn't have (car play, hud, mirror) is pure fluff. Don't let the price point police say otherwise. The price point has gone into the drivetrain, not into accoutrements (french for "random crap")

Yes of course, the majority of your hard earned dollar goes towards the drivetrain. That's true for almost every new vehicle out there however, I disagree completely with your other presumption. Car play, HUD, digital rear view mirror, proper controls for the 3rd row seats AND a sliding shade below that massive two section glass roof, is most certainly not "fluffy random crap" that is typically seen in an $82,000 vehicle! @@IvanRivera-xb3he

Rear floor lifts up to the lip to make the floor flat. Also you missed the accessories in the rear near the 2 buttons. They're slider doors that gives access to compressor and plugs

As an owner of both a Model S and R1T all those buttons don't help if the software is crap. And compared to my Tesla the software is horrible. Great vehicle but interface is years behind Tesla. And it takes all of a day to get used to using a touchscreen or voice commands

The internal air compressor in the rear storage area is a nice touch, too. It's purpose built, and gives a different flavor compared to the typical tesla bubbles.

I actually like the design. Very unique and doesn't look like any other SUV or truck on the road. I don't mind the flat black since its an Adventure edition. The rear looks like the Jeep Wagoneer. I liked that Defender in the background with that unique paint job on the side. That is really sweet. No head up display is a major zonk.

Regarding the 3rd row seats, most owners will probably rarely ever use it and just keep it in the down position anyway, so the manufacturer having it manual rather than increasing costs to make it automatic is probably a good idea.

As an R1S owner, it really isn't a big deal for me. We have it up all the time (since we prefer the looks of the 3rd row up) and have it down when we go for a Costco run every few weeks. It only takes us a few second to put it back up.

Congrats bud, you've earned it man! I agree with you 100% regarding the 2 "HUGE" zonks on the Rivian R1S. It is truly hard to believe that the massive two section glass roof does NOT have a sliding shade. It's almost laughable that somehow, this ridiculous flaw passed the test during the designing stage. The other zonk is those stupid manual folding rear seats - yeah, in a $82,000 vehicle - gimme a frickin' break Rivian! And so like everyone else, I'm still waiting for a "real world" review on an actual production-line Cybertruck, not the prototype. It'll most likely set a baseline that everything else will be measured against. Keep up the great work Joe. I love your channel man!

Just got mine delivered 2 weeks ago, Mine cost me 78,000 , ordered 2 years ago. I am too happy with it, there is no way I am getting anything near as good for under 80k on 2023/2024/2025 etc. It does everything with excellence, customer service is awesome, and yes that 0-60 gets old, but boy merging into the highways never felt so good

Nice video. But just quick mention.. your battery range info is incorrect for the quad motor. The quad motor does not take the max pack, only the dual motor. This quad motor range is in the 280s because of the wheel/tire package.This is the long range battery (midsize). If you want more range on this, you'll need to get different tire package. But for the dual motor, yes there are 3 range differences on battery alone. then tire/wheel package will adjust those also.

I traded in my land Rover Defender for the Rivian R1S. Rivian is a ton more fun. Defender was great. Built like a tank but cost $130 to go around 300+ miles here in CA. For the same about off money, the Rivian can go over 1500 miles. Massive cost savings

I need my Rivian serviced-ASAP-oh the nearest service center is Richmond VA-350 miles away- You pay the towing if the vehicle needs towing to the Rivian center also.Warrenty work. Unacceptable for a $80000 vehicle most people won't buy or afford.

I’m really considering this SUV. I really like that Electric Escalade that’s coming out in a year, but that may be too big as a daily for the wife. This just checks off all the boxes. The third row is a nice to have for when family comes to town, but we will mostly use it as a 5 seater. I will check out the Hummer and compare.

As a shareholder, thanks for promoting Rivian and trying to put Rivian's issues in a positive light. Rivian vehicles may be overpriced and lack basic features, but it's early. Rivian may have more flaws than other BEV makers, such as Tesla and Ford. But if we don't get investors and buyers to stay motivated and buy more shares and more Rivian vehicles, then Rivian will never get the traction needed to become a mass production BEV seller. So thanks again for not harping on lack of Apple Play, defective interface, defective bed cover, lack of glove compartment and high price and instead focusing on really important features such as able to carry passengers and cargo.

Currently the suv model/trim you want starts at 50k easily today… Toyota wants 50k+ for a rav 4 and 70k+ for highlanders.. This SUV is 3 in one… Super car 0-60 time, fully capable off roader, min van cargo space and a third row… You would have buy 3 vehicles to get all these…

@@stevegroll9213 Well if I got buy a Toyota 4 runner for 60k for off roading, a family daily driver with 3 rows for another 60k then it kind of makes a lot of sense get a multi use vehicle and paying one insurance and then putting it as a business vehicle for tax deductions. I think over 6000 pounds gets a write off… Then I still get another vehicle, like a sports cars or a pick up…

Company employees the best of software engineers in California, they employ the most capable and dedicated assembly workers in Normal IL. They are scaling fast and removing cost as well as expanding to 2nd plan in Georgia 🇺🇸 to start a more affordable line.

I see Rivians all the time where I am in the mid Atlantic region, but I think I've only seen one Hummer since they where introduced. I see far more Rivians than F150 Lightnings for that matter. Seems like a success to me.

It’s crazy practical… Actual legit 3 rows, minivan cargo space, super car performance, legit off-roader (14 inches of ground clearance). It’s basically 3 vehicles in one… I can daily drive and do some light trails over the weekend and take the whole family on road trips and have some space for luggage…

Prior was around high $70's but there was some things they had to increase that finally my lovely wife said with a son going to college nope. Instead got me a 2022 Jeep Gladiator which I love.
