Is the 2024 S650 worth it to buy or trade in your S550 for?

The S550 dash is nicer, it has STYLE! The S650's tablets that aren't integrated look pitiful....no design element. The car is evolutionary, it looks very nice but not different enough to buy IMHO. If you have an S550, owe nothing on it, I would keep it. I am keeping my 2018 and saving my $$$.

Understand; this man, the company he works for, and this KZbin channel, are financially invested in people buying the next Mustang. So there is absolutely NOTHING objective in this video. It's marketing, and nothing more. Anyways.....the S650 is pure garbage. 18-23 cars are lighter, faster, and just as nice. Without those absolutely ridiculous, stuck-on I-pads for a dashboard. And it's NOT a new car, it's just a re-style. Ford labeling it with a new chassis designation is pure marketing bullshit.

The added power is offset by the added weight. We are seeing no real performance increase. There is over a 20% price increase from over the 2020 models. A base 300a car with Performance Package in 2020 MSRPd at $40k, that same car today is almost $48K. Another issue the Base 300a had power seats for both driver and passenger.

I have the same opinion as you, the only thing i think is actually cool is the technology you get with the iPad screens. I own a 2021 300a (base of the base models) and I have the 4 inch calculator in mine and other than the screens I like my 2021 better. Also I was told, never did research on it, but non PP cars with the regular brakes are actually the 4 piston Brembos from the 11-14 (s197) Track Package cars, they just never got the Brembo name painted on the calipers. IMO if anyone has an 18-23, just keep it and enjoy the fact that you can modify the car as you please

For someone who is new to mustangs… love the look and feel of new S650. Older car had a more aggressive front end. Test drive GT with performance exhaust and absolutely love the experience

That’s the thing now. I’m not a follower of yours as I just was scrolling through and you came across my browsing, but I certainly agree. The amenities are nice because technologically speaking it’s becoming a standard across all platforms to have some level of what the S650 offers even at a base model. Comparing base to base I will say it’s the best option Ford has produced compared to that embarrassing little screen for the last 10 years in multiple vehicles they’ve made. The prices aren’t drastically different starting, however this is the battle I keep taking. I have a beautiful SN95 right now, but I want to find a 5.0 with everything the car has to offer and in a PP1 at least as well. I can find an S550 just like that only a few years old with low mileage for less then what a new base model comes with. I think it all comes to personal preference but I truly think the S550 is still a very favorable platform. They’re also very mod friendly also.

A month ago I traded in my 2019 GT Premium convertible for the 2024 GT Premium, performance pkg, and with the Nite Pony pkg. Went from Velocity blue to Shadow black, and wow love the new ride. Glad I pulled the trigger on this one. Quite the learning curve with the new screens, but over all I find her a much better ride. 🖤🐎😎

I love analog gauges i cant stand how everything has digital screens now id rather have analog that is one reason i prefer older mustangs. The whole fox style gauge is cool at first but its a stupid gimmick that people will forget about within a week because nobody wants to roll w that ugly green color lol. We had to back then now we got options. Ford tries to sell it with gimmicks and tech (aka slapping screen(s) on the dash) that should tell you alot about the car itself if you gotta push gimmicks for it to sell. I seen one dyno 408 i know all dynos read diff but for "480 hp" im not impressed lol. The whole 2 intake thing is another gimmick. No way id get rid of an older tunable mustang for tbis turd lol. I cant beleive base mosels are 47k now i remember 10 years ago you could find base cars almost 20k less than that and the performance on them aint far off what these new ones are lol. That was when they had real bang for your buck. They keep giving us less and charging us more and people eat it up. This is why ford does this crap.

The interior on the s650 is garbage! Ford F'ed up on the dash with the iPad screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment screen. They take away from the nostalgic look that is the mustang with the eyebrow dash. Jim Farley should not have signed off on the interiors. Sad day... keep your S550 or get your Shelby back.

My 21 S550 is the base 301A Nite Pony and I am not that impressed with the S650. I agree with you that it is a refreshed S550. I would have to wait a couple of years before getting one just because it is a "new platform" so it will have bugs, not being able to tune and no aftermarket parts for it. I don't need all the extra features. It just means more to break down the road. As always keep up the great content.

Couple of weeks ago I took delivery of my 2024 GT premium performance package, 6 speed manual, with leather Recaros, it's white with the night pony package,an paint black roof an rear wing, got a little over a hundred miles on it now, I really like the screens integrated into the dash. The only downfall I see is if you have to replace anything in the screen. You would have to replace the complete screen which is going to be very costly versus if you had the two pads where you could just replace one.

Dude I wouldn’t trade in the S550 GT for the new one. If you want to update your existing get a Tesla big screen for the infotainment they are sick as hell and does a lot ascetically for the Interrior. Then you have the interest, dealer markups, etc is it really worth it. Guessing your S550 GT is already paid off or close to it. This economy is not in good shape.

There is allot of questions here. If the number payment is right, you do get a more powerful 5.0 motor stock and fords new car warrenty. For the amount of money to upgrade the S550 you could save that money and buy a brand new 2024 mustang.

@@triggersociety12 the upgraded gen 4 coyote and dual throttle body is going to make a huge difference. One of things that makes the 5.0 Coyote so special is how well it breathes power and boast, now you're gonna have a dual intake. These S650 Mustangs are gonna be killer in the racing scene.
