Just bought 24 Palisade Calligraphy to replace our 21 ST. Loved the power and performance- but at Ford, quality is not job 1. Interior materials falling apart, buttons wearing at 35k miles, and then there’s the rear bolt issue- that Ford never bothered to rectify for those of us affected. TPM issues, exhaust smell… I could go on, but what’s the point. Moving on and doubt I will look back.

I had a horrible experience from our 2013 explorer limited. So many features didn’t work, water leaked in through the rear trim and eventually the power seats stopped folding in third row. So yeahhhh, never again with one of these. Lol

I agree, the craftsmanship needs allot to be desired, bland and very cheap looking seats and dash, that ford emblem i think makes it look cheap as well. Overall its an improvement over the 24 but thats where it stops.

I test drove a LOADED 2024 Explorer Platinum before I ended up going with a Mazda CX-70. The sticker was something like $64K. The interior quality was not up to par with the $40K quality from Kia/Hyundai, and definitely was not a match for the Mazda. I was actually shocked how awful Ford and Chevy felt compared to Kia/Hyundai/Mazda at significantly higher sticker prices. Plus with the CX-90/70 being able to pull 5,000lbs, it was a pretty easy choice for me to go with a $55K CX-70 Turbo S over a $64K Explorer. Unless the 2025 model received SIGNIFICANTLY updated interior quality, I can't see a reason to suggest someone get an Explorer.

I like it. With 3,0, it has plenty of power and well optioned. One complaint would be no HUD. The build an d price is a bit confusing. At first, it seems like it's forcing you to choose the 2.3 engine to get Lux leather. Reading the details shows it comes standard when you choose the 3.0. I had a 16 Explorer Platinum and is was trouble free. Knowing what the Explorer available in China looks like, I wouldn't buy a 25. Ford will eventually bring that to the U S and then, I'd be very interested.

This is a better 2-row midsize CUV, but the Kia Telluride/Hyundai Palisade or Chevy Traverse are better 3-row CUV. The Ford Explorer (as is the same situation with the more direct competitor, which is the Mazda CX-90. The 3rd row in the current Explorer is just too small for anything but one 3 year old. Ford should bring the 3-row Edge from China (but not made in China) to take on the Kia Telluride/Hyundai Palisade, etc., and make the next-generation Explorer a real boxy body on frame 2-row SUV as it was originally made. I have read people say, “Well then buy a Bronco”, but 90% of people who want a boxy body on frame vehicle that you need a ladder to get into it.
