"Topology" is the reason that the eta-prime particle is so much heavier than the pions. This is a big deal, because it would change the strength of the strong interaction by quite a bit.

But it is an assumption that there is some kind of exchange on an interspecies level. We are all made of the same material. So because there is a nail in the structure of my house, that nail must have come from a cabinet? This is not logical. A nail is a general building block, genes are general building blocks. So what if a gene shows up in different species? You cannot mate a bird with a plant, or even a mouse.
