I just found out that this is the hardest wood in the world, that's probably one of the reasons it grows so slowly? 1430 kg/m3 and a janka hardness of 4630 lbf. For comparisson... White Oak which is considered for many things due to its hard wood, is 755 kg/m3 and a janka hardness of 1350 lbf. This acacia is two times denser and almost 4 times harder to cut!!

Wrong label ,it is special what other trees thrive without water? Add water and you'll see your slow growing

Kudos to the camera operator running along beside the narrator's car, narry a false step, not even out of breath.

Why is it ironic that pastoralists were also conservationists?

Because pastoralism has basically destroyed the ecologies of vast stretches of Australia.

I watched this program with awe. but got disappointed when I saw that panel of judges made up of white people. why couldn't you include traditional owners? when they were the people who lived in this landscape for many thousands years living side by side with those amazing trees?
