Is The AG Predator Freak Better? Adidas Predator Freak + Laceless AG Review 2021

Hey James, great video as usual. You're one of the few football boots reviewers that always brings an AG comparison. I, using AG boots exclusively, appreciate your input a lot. And once more, I need your help. I have the Preds 20.1 AG and I just ordered the freak.1 AG (waiting for the delivery), and I am afraid that they might be a bit wider than the 20.1s through the forefoot and toe-box area. I'm fairly tolerant with the width of the 20.1s, but that's the limit for me I cannot wear something wider. Do you think there's a drastic change to the shape? should I have a problem with the fit of the freak.1s???

I think that the freak absolutely has more room in the forefoot than the mutator and you might have a problem. You'll know better when you try them on of course.

Solid review. Your boot breakdowns are always great! So tempted to grab a pair haha. The HG plate makes the boot fit way better imo. Also, that kit is class!

Very informative bro I’m either going to go with these or the superfly 8 ag version so I hope you will drop a video about that I am from Bangladesh here pitches are mostly first gen ag so I have always worn astro turfs but recently after wearing an fg I have gotten my knee injured So I ask you should I go for superfly 8 ag predatore plus ag or the .1 low ag?

I prefer the superfly to the predator overall, but that is personal preference, I really don't like the pred.

they have a narrower midfoot, if you have a wide forefoot they might be ideal.

@bootwizard solid video. You mentioned that the ag version of this boot is almost like an ag/fg combo and the new Nike ag plate will be mostly for ag surfaces. What would be the main differences? I'm someone who mostly plays on ag. Thanks!

Essentially it comes down to number and length of studs. The new Nike plate has more studs at a shorted length making them better as an exclusive AG boot instead of FG/AG these have fewer studs than the Nike AG pro (on the Merc) at a longer length making them better as an FG/AG option, still good for AG but maybe not as specific as the Nike.

@@BootWizard thanks. I've been using the Adidas X 16+ ag boots for the past couple years and I generally liked the plate on those. Would you still recommend the predator ag or switch to Nike?

@@kv18287 you'll probably be happy enough with either plate, based on the looks of it the Nike might be closer, I must say the X 16+ is one hell of a boot though, I'd wear that over the new pred every day, X 16+ is so good! Also worth mentioning that the AG specific plate that Adidas were using at the time of the X16 is the same one they used up until part of th way through 2020, so if you want the same plate, sone of the older nemeziz colours along with the X 19.1 and other boots all have that exact AG specific plate. If you're talking about th FG/AG plate on the X 16+ then the current Adidas AG plate is probably closer.

It depends on what you're looking for but on the whole I prefer the new one.

If you already have them then if they feel comfortable that's the best news you can get. Just wear them around the house a lot.
