I have the Razer Viper Ultimate and the G Pro. I would recommend the G Pro, but now I want this. Viper Ultimate feels cheap, and the accuracy is 95% vs 100% on the G Pro.

I have this mouse and it is actually very comfortable to use. I was able to get it for just under $100 on amazon and I would say it was worth it. The only weird thing is the DPI switch is on the bottom. I guess that keeps you from accidentally hitting it though. Battery life is decent, i have a USB-C cable on my desk to charge anything the battery decides to die on, so that is no big deal for me.

I always see this mouse everytime I stop at best buy and i've been curious to try it but at $150 MSRP it's hard pass for me. After looking for used deals on amazon I finally purchased one recently to test it out and hopefully it will be good enough to add to my arsenal.

How can use the software in MacBook Pro ?
@Cortezuma Жыл бұрын
I think you’re looking at it from a purely gamer point of view. What this mouse offers over the Viper (and other options) is niche, but relevant. 1. USB-C dongle for those of us using laptops without USB-A ports - no bulky adapter needed, but still the option for BT connection 2. A look that would fit more cleanly into a work or professional environment without sending out hard gamer vibes. Viper is mostly ok but some options like Glorious, definitely not. It might sound silly but… I’ve got a MacBook Pro (I know… no MacOS support on the software) with no USB-A ports and I’ll be using it also for work and productivity tasks, but with some gaming on the side… both Mac and Windows. Also should pair with Xbox and PS5 which is a bonus. So it’s compact enough for travel, BT plus USB-C dongle which is huge, and I can get away with it at work because it doesn’t look necessarily like a gaming mouse to most people. It’s all about priorities. Most people wouldn’t think a USB-C dongle or the specific aesthetics of a mouse would matter so much, but for some consumers they do. Now if I was just gaming on a windows machine with USB-A ports and had no other concerns, then your point is well taken. But I think there’s a consumer for this one

Thanks for the review! Is the grip width of the 720M in between the Viper and the Superlight?
@Freedomsreviews2 жыл бұрын
The grip is definitely a in between. The 720m is 2.43in the Superlight is 2.5in and the Viper is 2.27in. The height of the 720M and the Viper are the same.

Helpful review man! I just ordered an Alienware x16 and am looking for a relatively compact mouse. Size wise this appears to be around the same size as the Logitech pro light? Is that a fair statement or just how it looks on camera?

Yeah you're pretty much right. Think the size of a G pro with the curves of a Viper
@furnitureandbedding776 Жыл бұрын
@@Freedomsreviews ok cool. I kind of want this Alienware mouse to go with my all Alienware setup but I also want a small mouse. If this is relatively the same size as the g pro light I would be comfortable with that size.

i dont understand why everyone is connecting the 2.4ghz receiver to the dongle? if i have the receiver on my computer because, well, i'm using it with the reciver instead of bluetooth, why would i remove the reciver from the computer and put it on the dongle when i want to charge it magnetically?
@Freedomsreviews2 жыл бұрын
Some PCs don’t have a USB-C connection which is why some might connect to the dongle. However, I do understand not wanting to have the dongle plugged in at all times when wanting to charge. Bad design on Alienwares part.
@murfad2 жыл бұрын
@@Freedomsreviews i dont understand. if you dont have usb-c and are using the dongle and cable... arent you running it wired then? or is the cable only for charging? even if, the receiver should be on the computer either way, no? i think i'm missing something here. i cant think of a scenario where the receiver should be connected to the mouse, not the computer. i'm considering this mouse so i really need to understand why the magnetic dongle has a slot for the 2.4g receiver lol
@Freedomsreviews2 жыл бұрын
The cable can be used for wired or wireless. The receiver itself doesn’t need to be directly connected to the PC, and can be used in the dongle. This way you’re not taking up 2 usb slots on your PC, which is why the dongle has those 2 slots. Also the receiver I’m plugging into the mouse isn’t a receiver, it’s part of the magnetic charging that connects to the dongle when you need to charge.

They have a black mouse,headset and monitor for the new Tri-Mode Series. They call it "Dark Side of the Moon" instead of black. And white is "Lunar Light"...since I just ordered the headset today ($50 off today) and it doesn't ship until June 6th I'd have to guess that they are having some supply chain issues just like everyone else ... but I did see a picture of the "black" version if that answers your question. (I too was wanting the black headset, but I'm going to just wait until it shows up and change my order when they show in stock so I'll already be in line to get mine.

@@Freedomsreviews Are you still liking and using this Alienware mouse? I was strongly debating on ordering it with the Tri-mode headset the other day since it was such a significant discount off of Alienware peripherals... but I decided just a $160+ headset was enough to spend in one day lol. Looking at either buying one of these new AW tri-mode mice as they look like they would feel similar to a Logitech Ultralight/razer viper ultimate/Finalmouse Ninja Air-58 sized and has rubber sides but i wish i could hold it in my hands in person before spending that kind of money on one yet...but anyways I was curious if you were actively using it still and if the Alienware software is any good/all around feel of this mouse still? (or if there was anything specific you were finding about it that bothered you?...also is there an actual USB-C port on the front of the mouse or is that like a proprietary magnetic recharging feature? i couldn't tell if it was like one of those chargers where you leave the USB-C dongle in the mouse and then just connect the magnetic side of the cable to the mouse or if that was something that was Alienware proprietary wired connection. Or my other option would be one of the several new models of ASUS mice that include 2.4ghz USB dongle, Bluetooth 5.1, and rechargeable USB-C battery/cable. but what really sells me is ASUS uses their new magnetic removable panels so you can easily remove the top shell, and replace or swap out their hot-swappable switches (which seems to be the first thing that breaks or begins having double clicking issues on many expensive gaming models of mice these days...so figured might as well spend a little less than this Alienware model and have the ability to easily replace or use any switch I prefer. (and they even come with an extra pair of omicron or Kailh 4.0/8.0 switches and can even use any other switch that uses the same 3pin connection which I hope more companies begin using this same feature sort of like how we have tons of hot-swappable mechanical keyboards these days where you can easily pop in any switch you prefer) but it seems like the shape of this Alienware would be a better fit than having all those nice ASUS features on a mouse that doesn't fit my hand.!especially with those concave left/right click buttons on the Alienware
@Freedomsreviews2 жыл бұрын
@@phlooke yes I do still use this mouse on my editing PC and every time I put my hand on it I love the shape since it is very Viperish. I’ve personally have only used the Asus Keris mouse and did enjoy it, and I agree that the hot swappable switches is something I’d love to see more companies do. My only concern with the Alienware is the weight, and the stock feet which would lead me toward the Asus. That said if you’re interested in the Razer Viper at all a new one will be released rumored around April 26th with a 30K sensor, and 56grams. At the end of the day the AW720 is too expensive for what I think it is. Around $120 is where I’d like to have seen it priced.
