The matte color is like a special color for Kia. I’ve heard and saw some dealers marking them up bc of the color. And also marking them up bc of the GT1 Package as well

@@ziyaadkabani8312 matte is hard to maintain, no automatic car washes and very hard to match in case of scratches. As far as mark ups, shop around, there are plenty of dealers that will deal on them.

Hello, thank you for the review. I would recommend purchasing this model over the GT Line model if you are on a budget because it offers superior features at a lower cost. Notably, it boasts 290 horsepower and rear seat AC vents, providing enhanced performance and comfort. However, the GT1 package, priced close to $40,000, includes additional features such as blacked-out rims, heated and cooled seats, blinds spot carmea view, and a memory seat for the passenger. While the N Line offers the same horsepower, it lacks many of these features to maintain a lower cost. 😅

I drove the Sonata NLine as I love Hyundai. They missed the mark by not having those options you mentioned. Also, NO heated steering wheel option in the Sonata Nline. Living in Maine, that's a deal breaker for me. Why not offer a package with those options? The sales guy kept saying it had a heated steering wheel....he was wrong. Lol

Great review. I want one in red with the GT1 pkg. I am on my 3rd Hyundai....currently Santa Fe Sport with everything including heated back seats. But the newer tech and safety features look great, esp the blind spot camera and remote park assist. Too bad that doesn't do the parallel parking like some cars. If the Santa Cruz had all this tech and safety features, I'd love that.

Why no aluminum pedals on a GT? Seems like a miss. I had a 2013 Elantra GT hatchback. Panoramic roof, blue leather, and aluminum pedals. Wish it had 290 hp though.

Yesterday, I checked the price of the K5 GT at a local KIA dealership in New Jersey. The same exact car's MSRP was $39,600 dollars. The car has floor mates and wheel locks as the only options. I looked at the car's sticker and yes, it was $39,600 dollars, so no market adjustment.

It must have had GT1 package and pretty much all possible options. Equipment and price breakdown of this one is in the description.

@@MattTheCarguy Yes, it had to have the GT1 Package. The only options on the K5 GT have been floor mates, wheel locks, cargo net, first aid kit, and a couple of more plastic things for the trunk, which is not a high amount of money for these items.

Is this a GT1 pkg? I could've thought there's seat ventilation on the GT, but on a GT2 pkg.

@MattTheCarguy I went to the KIA website. There is a GT1 package that will add seat ventilation, passenger power seats, and memory. I also believe blindspot camera is added to the GT1 pkg. I just want to make sure a package like this exists because this one seems a little discontent on some features.

@@MattTheCarguy Nope. Only the K4 if you want a sedan. The Koreans seem determined to stiff the Canadian market. Even Hyundai, we get the Sonata but not the hybrid version. But the biggest insult of them all, our powertrain warranty is only 5 years, compared to your 10 in the US. Half the warranty for the very same vehicles. Kia and Hyundai aren't exactly sweet talking us up here.

This only applies to the korean spec, the US version is confirmed to not have ambient lighting on any trim/package. Big miss IMO from Kia. Ambient lighting really looks good on the K5 and its a sad cost saving measure to see. Still have one ordered and excited to get behind the wheel though. ​@@jazzyboy7784

The same engine, tuned for 10 hp more, is offered in the Genesis G70 (made by the same parent company as Kia and Hyundai) with AWD available, but that car is US$44,000. If folks could get the K5 with AWD for less, fewer people would buy the Genesis
