Is the Apple Watch Ultra 2 Black Titanium Worth the Hype?

@@ItsCaputo absolutely - it looks and feels great ! I switch out to my old standard plain black rubber band from my old watch (not an ultra) for exercise though as I can easily clean it after exercise. The milanese band would take a while to dry I suspect after washing it. The other bands also look like they would not be so functional for quick cleaning as well.

Got mine yesterday. Rather annoyingly it has an issue where the Digital Crown will often fail to open the apps screen from the watch face. I don’t think it is hardware related as it works fine when pushing it in to go back every time when not in the watch face Home Screen it’s just seems to happen on that watch face home screen. I figured it might be a watchOS 11 issue but could find nobody mentioning the issue anywhere. I’ve swapped it out and my provider is sending me a replacement for tomorrow. Hoping that’s ok.

@@racingspoon often I have to touch the watch face first to make it work.or I scroll touching the watch face cause the crown doesn't work. its a bit hit or miss sometimes it works sometimes it don't

@@derksenjenny this very weird. Only happens on the main watch screen. Will work fine 20 times in a row but then will not respond 4/5 times in a row. No issue in any other part of watch and no issue with scrolling at all. I’m convinced it must be a software rather than hardware issue for those reasons. It’s a brand new day one watch so swapping it out just in case.

Some users post AWU2 black scratch easily. It would be good if you can do video review about good protective case for the black AWU2 to prevent it from occasional scratch.

Mine has two scratches on the bezel already. Disappointed but I knew their claims were too good to be true.

Try ESR Armorite to protect bezel and watch screen.

@@MJHiteshew I read a comment from an owner of a black ultra 2 that what they thought was a scratch was actually the paint work from the object they hit. therefore they could eventually rub it off. do you think that could have happened with your watch

Oh the scratches this one will get. I would love a black watch but unless they figure out to make titanium black or gunmetal without painting it I’m staying away from it.

It’s the same coating that’s used in top end firearm finishes, if it can last a thousand cycles on a handgun barrel, it’ll probably do just fine on someone’s wrist.

This is the most disappointing year for Apple phones & especially the NEW:Ultra 2 watch. $800 cannot imagine someone updating for color change only🤷‍♂️ /Wish I had extra 800 for something this hugely minute ! 🥂 Really hoping we’ll get a much, much, much better update next year… Because this years very sad & disappointing 😢 -Cheers-

I think the Black Ultra 2 watch is primarily geared at people who don’t own an Ultra 2 currently. It seems people criticise Apple for doing yearly refreshes because changes aren’t big enough, but when they hold off on a year - looks like that is an issue also. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
