So guys, I see that somehow I hit a soft spot here with my opinion on the auction house. Just to be clear it is not my intent to hate or anything like that. I'm saying all that because I enjoy the game for the most part and it would be a shame for it to be yet another MMO to go away because of some technical aspect, just looking at the historical chart here. So let's see, maybe I'm wrong and in the future we are all gonna get used to this system and it wont hurt the game in the long run, who knows... Also looking at the bright side, maybe some people will find it a decent paying job for a living, to farm virtual currency and sell it for real money and maybe NCSOFT wont mind?

I agree, its ridiculous. I get so many drops and can only create one or two from great success. Its tedious and not fun the way it works. Its like they are punishing you for not buying lucent, again its ridiculous. I dont like the way it works at all.

Subscription is a tricky zone, they need to remove a whole lot of p2w elements for it to work, however a a box price like you said, would work and they would only need to make a few tweaks. Generally speaking I'm against any f2p products, it's a risky environment.

im okay with this type of p2w as a f2p player because i still can accses them without paying any money. all of the mmorpg have p2w in it with rmt. and i dont like AH. love to trade and sell item manualy by open small shop or shouting on the server. it create a mini game for me to master price market and its good for player to engage with each other make it more social. i can be afk in town and still growth my power score

None of that has to change. Just like I mentioned in the video, the old formula works just fine - have auction house uses the regular in game currency, make most items tradable, and add lucent-sollant coversion. GW2 is the example. Can still make money selling cosmetics and "convenience" stuff.

ive made like 20k lucent just playing the game.... tho it would be harder to do it now, ( i didnt have any big drops either )

Anytime soon he's gonna realize: 1. The game is f2p so the have to make money some way 2. You can sell dropped items in AH 3. Every mmo is p2w, due to rmt, whether its open trade system or not

I agree with everything you say, however the extra steps to use the auction house are unnecessary. Also what is stopping them to put a price tag on the game. Another issue that we can already find related to real money auction house is gold/progress selling services that already kicked in. How long before they flood the game with bots?

What I'm saying is, that most people that will start the game lets say 1 year from now, will have a much harder time progressing. They will have to make a lot more effort for the same results as you for example. I'm just thinking in the long run, that's all. If it's a hit and run game, like bitcoin, sure it's great for anybody who got into it now...

you're looking at it one-dimensionally. by selling items you farm, you get the premium currency. this unlocks the auction house for all.

no. he talks the whole point. Like me... im in server which everything price dropped to 10 lucent. even if you got good traits. now its just like 100 lucent at tops. I cant make progress for far than a week now. This game Economy is the worst for the korean game that top it all

What you suggest would end the game instantly. This game is f2p, how do you expect them to make money? Congratulations you discovered their system om monetarisation. Have you ever run into a f2p game that makes money by cosmetics with so little effort in variety, quality and quantity of cosmetics?! No, they put little effort into cosmetics because it is only a little part of the cash cow. They make big time money by selling lucent to the whales, hence they go so hard on goldsellers like no other mmo before, and they use the hardcore players to gatekeep the loot, now only optainable through the auction house, now the hardcore players are happy because they make money, and the whales are happy because they have their p2w and are happy. Now all they have to do is hang the carrot low enough to get the casuals keep playing, e.g. the 0.3% loot chance chest at field bosses. They are tweaking access to loot constantly to have the carrot low enough so you keep playing but so high that maybe, maybe you one day think: "f**k it, i'm gonna get this from the auction house and buy some lucent..." You have been played.

I'm saying it because it's a decent looking game, and it could easily last long, but not like this, and also I pointed an example of how GW2 operates, and it works fine. We already have BDO. But let's see if I'm wrong and how long would it last being heavy p2w game... Also easy fix for the argument that they have to make money somehow - just add a price tag on the game, if it's good game, its worth buying. I understand you enjoy how it works now because its fresh and new but trust me, I'm not saying it to attract attention, it will eventually drive people away as soon as we get into the phase of old players/new players. Everyone who starts the game now will have easy time, 1 year after and it will be hell for new players. This can't be good for the game making money right?

But all prices are dopping and eventually will hit min price. But either way a real money store for ingame items is never a good idea. You can check what happened to diablo 3 initially years ago. Besides it literally looks like a private server in WoW where you can donate and get BiS gear. Anyway we will see what happens, but I don't believe it's gonna last too long before they rework the auction house

I don't know why tf you guys keeps saying it's "Pay to win" while it's clearly not. Have you guys forgot what "Pay to Win" means? You pay to win because there's no other way of winning but paying. In this game, it's clearly not the case. I'm 100% F2P and I've amassed around 1,500 lucent already, and I'm not even playing this game religiously, I'm only playing like 6-8 hours per week since launch. Most content creators seem to have this stupid take saying it's P2W. And I don't even think they're doing it for content, they genuinely believe that stupid opinion lol It's not like grinding for lucent and end game gears are borderline impossible.

Well idk what other content creators say about it, I have my own take on what p2w means. I even made video about this you can check, but long story short, to me p2w is not when you pay becasue there is no other way of winning, to me p2w is simply the fact that you can progress way faster than others. Time is the most crucial part of our lives. If what you say would count for p2w (when there is no other way), who would even bother playing such games?

A lot of those content creators come from the background of old WoW and other subscription based MMOs (before wow token era), and to them this is P2W in comparison. It's not an unreasonable claim. That said, this game wouldn't have had a day in the sun if it was made subscription based. So while you're not wrong, neither are they.

I agree subscription is a risky thing, even if it's optional. So I think the middle ground is to have a regular price tag while keeping the in game shop, and TL has a huge upperhand vs older games, simply because it's new, new engine, etc, that opens up more possibilities for development if they really wanna go this way. I would be happy to pay a price for a decent game upfront.

As a f2p, I have my main char, and my alt char. Never put a penny in the game, I am already at maxed gear and traits (no archboss). And a balance of 8.000 lucent now resting. Farmed about 16k lucent in my alt char, and 9k in my main char. Looks a good system to me.

This is the initial inflated prices, so good for you being one of the first people to play the game, wait to see an year from now, once the supply sky rockets, the same practice you did will probably net you way less and eventually it will create a massive wall for new players.

The 2 most import things you must have in TL are Knowledge and a good guild, i dont think you have any of those. There are some valid points you made on your video but they are few and in between a vast sea of missinformation and your catch frase "the game is going to die". Every single system is the game has a smart and a dumb way to interact with, if you know what you are doing you can fully take advantage of its potention, if you dont you just waste your time and money and get very little from it. I can create character and in less than 24h, spending 0 dollars be in a much better position than your, this is not a new game this a game that as been out for 1 year already stop fearmongering and spreading missinformation and l2p

Well one of the issues is that this game has 2 version running simultaneously which spoils it for the west. But in a way it is new for the west. Btw I never said that you can not progress, what I said is that it will be way worse for people who start 1 year from now. Idk what are people on about, this has happened many times before for the same reasons, and the same companies involved with this game had made some of those cases. If we are just going to enjoy it for a few months and forget about it, it's all good. I just honestly believe this game has way more potential than being just another p2w mmo... Also I never intent to rush in any game. It kills the joy for me playing a game like there is no tomorrow. And I don't see why anybody would play it such way.

Exactly, I agree. This is pretty much the way GW2 is doing it for many years and it works (Gems to gold/gold to gems)
