I can attest to the great value and of their customer service. I had been following the Evo since CES. I waited to see the black Friday ads to see of there were any deals at Best Buy since I had a few gift cards to use there. The did not so I went ahead and bought the Evo November 8th. Of course a few weeks after they started the On the Go bundle for free if you ordered from Autel or other Dealers. I figured oh well I missed that one and had already planned to purchase it anyway for the two batteries. Someone posted this past Monday on Facebook that they bought the Evo about 3 weeks prior and that after contacting Autel they were shipping him one. So I opened up a ticket knowing it was a long shot if I could get the bundle. About 5 minutes later I got a response saying all they needed was a photo of the serial numbers from the box and they would ship me one out.. Best Buy never advertised this deal and probably wasn't participating in it. They shipped me one out just for asking. Saving me about 220 bucks is a great thing! Whole process was a ticket, 3 emails back and forth and about 10 minutes after I submitted the ticket I has a tracking number for the On the Go bundle. Great customer service!

Just purchased an Autel Evo over Dji products, with bundle = no brainer. Flight properties are amazing. Love it, love it, love it! Called Evo regarding a question they answered it within minutes of calling. Ahh. Gotta love that.

Hi Sean Ozz nice video there with Kelly....I am from Malaysia and i had to admit that Autel Customer service is the best even they cant sell to me(out of USA) but they help me by recommend few of their dealers in USA so i can get it, recently my Evo crashed and sent back to them for repair and just got it back with outstanding service. I fly Evo almost everyday with my Mavic Air, agreed that Dji have more features compare to Autel Evo but with Evo you dont have a forced firmware update and annoying NFZ. EVO is an awesome product! They were a little rough around the edges at launch but in late 2018 and beyond it is super solid! Any alternative and competition to DJI is always welcomed.

I say get what suits you best. Do not let anyone tell you what value is. That is just opinion. I believe that the Mavic 2 is over priced for what you get. I think that it has more features than the Evo. But for me, the P4P is my drone of choice but I do own the Evo as well.

One thing I'll give to the Autel Evo - No Geo-fencing. As a Part 107 operator, I've had several operations that were stalled or had to be cancelled because the ridiculous method of unlocking the geo-fence DJI makes you jump through. Twice this past week the unlock codes and unlock sequence from DJI didn't work as it has in the past 4 weeks. I Picked up an EVO and right out the box got the footage I needed in Class C airspace just 10 minutes after receiving my FAA authorization. None of the time and nonsense of DJI. I shouldn't have to send my FAA authorization to a company in China for god's sake to perform my commercial operations. DJI should unlock every Part 107 operator's drones upon request. As a Part 91 manned aircraft pilot that would be the same as if I had to contact the manufacturer of an aircraft built in the Czech Republic every time I wanted to fly my airplane in Chicago. I fly my airplane in and out of Midway airport (Class C) 20 times a year. If the FAA deems me competent to Fly real airplanes with my Pilot certificate, and my drones with my Part 107 certificate, who the hell is DJI to interfere? Ridiculous! When will Congress, AOPA, or other pilot organizations step in to get us the blanket-unlocking we require to run our commercial operations? Geez Louise!

I think providing DJI with a copy of our Part 107 Certificate and the Serial Numbers on our Drones and controllers and having them permanently unlock the geo-fencing is the ultimate answer. The largest Hollywood drone pilots don't have to go through this - they have political clout in DC & $$ and get their equipment permanently unlocked. DJI could do that in mere seconds in one of their endless firmware updates. In my city the police drones are unlocked permanently. 2nd Class drone pilots I guess... Lol!

Ludicrous mode got me in trouble... About $260 worth of trouble... Knocked the gimbal right off... On a side note, I got mine with the bundle for $999 which included extra props and 2 batteries with the Autel bag. Customer service has been excellent while getting that gimbal repaired also!

Think about it. The PERFECT consumer drone will be the size and build of the Spark (folding drones are weaker, susceptible to damage), monitor built-in to the controller, great camera, 30 min. flight, good range. It would be one tough, very attractive drone to own and carry for quick launches. If it had a tracker built-in, too, it would outsell all the others. That would be the one to fly with real confidence.

i think the air is almost perfect. add occusynch 2.0 and 3-5 minutes longer on that battery and i would never fly anything else. they could leave the camera the same and it would be fine for me as well. lol

If you don’t live close to large no fly zones and want to do more still photography I’d probably recommend the Mavic Pro 2. If video is more your thing then the zoom. I really like the 60fps on my Phantom 4 pro, so I believe I will also love the EVO. The 30fps on my My mavic 2 pro is stunning.

@@SeanOzz Yeah the 24 and 30fps is really cinematic, but the more I've shot with 60fps, I'm really liking the versatility. I'm very diversified with my photography from macro to 500mm and everything in between for wildlife and landscapes. 60fps is just another fun aspect. Also I was a bit surprised that Kelly thought the EVO was overpriced, I never really thought that. I think its a fair price especially with the combo pack you mentioned. I think Carolina Drones has a killer deal also. Keep up the fun reviews.

@@SeanOzz Might be a good idea to update that if you have not already. Seems the going rate for EVO FMC with 2 extra batts, 64G card, and bag is under $1100. Best Buy just ran it for 999 with $100 gift card. So.. $899 + tax, which is cheaper than MA FMC. Check out other videos of the EVO in flight. Many improvements in stability after firmware fixes. Then check out Captain Drone videos with the EVO tracking RC cars, and slo mo in 4K. It's nothing short of impressive, and cannot be done on M2P. BTW, M2P FMC is $700 more than the EVO. That's a lot of extra $ to consider. If APAS and flight modes mean that much to people then go for it. I never fly that way with MP, MA, P4P, Spark etc. I do use Litchi on those for waypoints, but EVO has that in the app. I also note bias is most of Kelley's reviews, but that is fine. I'm a fan of DJI as well. They make good stuff, but the refinements of EVO have made it better imo. MP when I bought it was problematic, took DJI about 5 firmwares to get it as good, then they ruined the APP. I used Litchi for months while they had all their app issues last years from Apr to Sep. Not as bad on iOS, but I was in 90' deg weather and iOS did not cooperate like my Samsung S3 and S4 tabs. Ipad Pro would shut off due to heat. Now they shut off in cold extremes. APP has to work for both devices. Same goes for Autel. No one device type is ever 100% even the CS we have sucked half the year last year.

For the people saying they are fanboys... they stated the video comparison had nothing to do with the cameras. honestly.. which in my opinion the camera is really the only good thing about the evo, it’s not very stable , it’s not as fast as the mavic , it doesn’t have as many flight features / flight modes, and it’s not as well built and it’s also easier to crash since the back sensors don’t really even work .. I’d say it should be priced at about $650 maybe

Good review. Many things missing though in the comparison. I say out the DJI birds I have, the Evo just works all the time, every time. No ridiculous update stuff every other time you fly. Not a single app crash. If you fly MP in high speed, sensors are disabled. What's the point? I'd say given the bundle now at $999 it's a fair price. To say the camera isn't better than MP or Air is just wrong. Out of the DJI Air and MP, Evo beat them hands down. No distortion in the lens. On the MP2, the lens issues are horrible for a product that costly. Everyone else say t's fine, fix it in post! It's almost $2,000 for the FMC. How about DJI fix the issues. Already many reporting app issues on Go4 again. No shocker there. Dealt with that through Spark, MA, MP. Luckily my P4P has been good. Go4 issues nearly ruined travel dates last year. Frustrating to say the least. Started bad in April, then well into Sep before the finally did something about Go4.

I wish my evo worked all the time. mine disconnects (app crash) and has some flight issues here and there and the camera reminds me of an old gopro 4 ( you know that haze look depending which way the sun shines and all). Love that Autel is pushing to compete with DJI. hopefully some of the evo issues are corrected with the next version. i agree with you about the mavic 2 pro. i got the zoom. a way better feature and the camera is plenty good enough for now. never had any go4 issues (luckily) with the zoom (can't say the same for the original pro).

@@SeanOzz Are you using an iOS or Android phone? I have a MP Platinum and the DJI GO 4 app is completely unusable on my Android devices, the view stutters every few seconds, sometimes the picture becomes green and blocky, app crashes every 10min,sometimes it won't even connect, you never know what kind of bugs DJI will surprise you with with their constant app updates... but with iOS the DJI GO 4 app works smooth and reliable on my iPad. The Evo seems like a better value drone since the controller has a built in screen and most people have Android so you don't have to buy an overpriced iOS device just to be able to use it properly.

Antoni Hjalmarsson I have an iOS. Interesting that you say most people have android. In my line of work it seems to lean slightly more to iPhones. I deal with customers everyday and 60% or more are able to airdrop files to me. It’s a much smaller amount who has to email the art to me. I feel ya though. I have known a few who went out and got an iPad mini due to Dji being a bit more glitchy on Android in the past.

@@SeanOzz A lot of people here using Evo are flying with Android. DJI is all about iOS especially since their partnership with Apple. DJI trashed the Go4 app so many times for Android users that many left DJI instead of being forced into iOS... though many did jump on iOS since there were little alternatives. Evo and Anafi were also really great with Android, so quite a few decided to make a switch from DJI. My guess is DJI are more iOS owners, and Autel along with Parrot do ok with Android. I fly both device types. Mostly due to iOS devices dying in certain climates. Just not as dependable when you are showing a client a site view and your iPP takes a dump. We started using Samsung S4 Tabs and those are great. Brighter than iPP, and a very nice screen for viewing on site. Never shuts down like the iPP did when it was too cold or very hot.

I own a Mavic Pro, Autel EVO, Parrot Anafi & Bebop2. My go to drone is currently the Parrot Anafi. The Flight Plan feature is awesome! Anafi has less annoying messages and required updates as well as no required geo-fences. EVO has 4k60 and built-in hi-res screen. If I need the range, I would take the Mavic Pro, otherwise, I take the Anafi. Mavic Pro's OcuSync blows away both Anafi and EVO wireless!!

This past weekend, I was going to fly both EVO and Anafi. Once at the location, I realized that I forgot my 20000 Mah battery charger. After flying the Anafi, my iPhone was low on power, I was thankful for the built-in display on the EVO remote and could still fly!!

Just wondering , when you guys did the race , what was the battery level of each drone ? As we see it in the video , it appeared the Autel had a fair bit of air time before the mavic started . I do not know that it would make a huge difference , but for the sake of accuracy ?

Tax return time (Woo-hoo! new drone time). I own a Spark and an M2Zoom. Was leaning heavily towards the Mavic Air. You and a lot of others say its your go-to. I was aware of the Evo. Best Buy just sweetened the pot. Evo w/bundle (extra props, 2 batteries) AND a $100 gift card. Yes I did. I've had it all of 3 days now. Wish I could say something positive about it, but the weather is too suckie for a maiden flight. My main reasoning for really getting it, though, was I like the idea of more competition in the drone market. Not a DJI hater by any means, just feel that they've cornered the market on high end consumer drones. This video really pointed out some of the weaknesses of the Evo, BUT, when you look at the whole picture, I paid $500 less for a drone with almost the quality of my M2Zoom. (And I really want to shot some 4k 60fps video) Thanks Sean (and Kelly) great video!

The evo 2 is better. Longer battery and more sensors but the evo one is not bad camera wise at all. So of it's closer 5o your budget you will be happy.

I dont know how to really explain this but my Autel Evo climbs throttle up and right stick forward with no problem. It climbs fast.... also when i yaw in one place it does not drift at all. But then again I have done a few FW updates since this video was made.

Here you can get a used mavic 1 (good condition) in the fly more combo for around 550€ on ebay (so ~$600, but technic stuff is generally mre expensive here, so more $550) which seems one of the best deals atm in my eyes. Sure the mavic 1 is a bit outdated, but because of the mavic 2 everyone wants to get rid of them even though its still not a bad drone. (and you also get all dji & 3rd party accessories really cheap).

If I had to do it over again I wish I would have held off until the mavic 2 zoom came out and got that instead of the EVO. Dji products are more stable no question. I would prefer optical zoom over digital plus the video features of Dji surpass the Autel EVO. The extra money would be worth it.

@@SeanOzz That's good news but I'm getting into this field to do work and I'm very reluctant to count on being lucky with that stuff. I can't imagine buying a tool, say a power saw that could refuse to work if it thought I didn't have the proper permits or zoning or something LOL. Especially where I live here in New Jersey just outside of New York I think there are a lot of no-fly zones and what good is an expensive new tool to me if it just wouldn't work? What would I tell the client, sorry but my aircraft is having a hissy fit? LOL Unfortunately DJI seems to be the industry leader by a mile at this point :-( As soon as I realized that you guys were racing I thought to myself yep, boys will race anything if they have two of them and then I wondered if this would be featured in the next "Bad Boys" commercial by Gillette...

There are apps you can look at that show Dji no fly zones. If you’re going to be in one all the time you can reach Dji about getting a permanent way to fly there. Or so I’m told. There are other brands that don’t have fly zones built in but you’re still not suppose to fly in the no fly zones either way.

In some cases that would mean getting authorization or a waiver but those things wouldn't help me if my aircraft wouldn't work LOL. For now I'm studying for the test, researching the different business opportunities and figuring out how to go ahead with this. Now that you mentioned it I'll research if there's a reliable way to turn off the no fly zones with DJI or the other companies. Hopefully by Spring I'll be set up and ready to go. Thanks again!

Here are some issues with the EVO. First the props get into the video especially the left side which is closer to the camera so on has to be careful when running full speed with the gimbal set to straight forward. Also on Android there are voice notifications but these don't work in IOS. Androids in general manage USB connections poorly so constant disconnects where IOS is more solid. The route trace doesn't seem to work in IOS but does in Android if it can manage to stay connected. In general a nice drone but is vastly inferior to the Mavics and DJI supports Litchi with is 1000% better than any other software. So far i am not thrilled with the EVO and will use my MPz and MA as they are better and run with Litchi. BTW I paid $700 for mine and $600 for my MA so not to far off the mark. I have to admit Ludacris is pretty cool and the next generation will go Plaid.

Sure that EVO wins or ties in almost every aspects such as the camera , flight time ,obstacle sensors ,no app needed and speed..etc. However, if go by price point, I would get the Mavic Pro instead which is around 800 USD

my evo gets about 26 minutes of flight time I have over 80 flights on 3 batteries. They are starting to dumb down bY ABOUT 3 minutes however I am seeing this video in dec 3rd so im late to the video game but just an fyi to those curious. I fly my autel ALMOST daily.

Hi Sean, the Evo is a cool quad, the built-in screen is a good idea and the gimble looks pretty solid. The Evo's ludicrous speed (not ass crap), reminds me of Spaceballs - maybe it should come with a Mr. Coffee as well?

@@SeanOzz For sure. I had both an Evo and the Mavic and the Evo blew it away. Unfortunately, I had a little too much fun with Ludicrous mode and crashed the Evo into a power line at 45mph and broke the camera off. Lesson learned: only fly fast in the country. I am looking forward to the Evo with 1" sensor.

Seems like a lot of people are against Autel simply because Dji sends them the newest drones to review for free, and they don't want to mess that up. I just recently purchased an evo and its pretty good. I also have a Dji Phantom 4... both drones are great. It comes down to personal preference. You can't always go on what other people say you eventually have to choose which is best for you.

If you’re familiar with my channel you have seen all the issues I’ve had with Dji drones. I so badly wanted to love my evo. I keep hoping an update will make that happen but not yet sadly for me.

With my Mavic 2 pro I have to downgrade my firmware, the new software wouldn't even let me fly in my own backyard or home because I live in N.Y with 2 major airports within 10 miles. Good luck to those who want to use their drone to take picture of your roof or home construction photography. I will probably buy Autel drones in the future.

I’ve not tried it but you can cover the top of tour Mavic and it disables gps and supposedly works around no fly zones. Just be safe as they fly way different without god lock. Lol

Camera shits on the latest mavic, incl the "pro version". Cons, has to be flown manually, you need to be a decent phtographer/pilot. this drone does nothing mucg for you.

Davnar Ragnar my evos camera doesn’t shit on anything sadly. It’s good but not spectacular. Sorta bums me out. Flying manual just is what ya do. Or should do before using any of the auto features. Including rth in my opinion as well.
