Arcsys has been on a roll recently. BB Rollback, Happy Chaos and Baiken DLC for Strive releasing close to eachother, and DNF Duel on the horizon. By now, Arcsys is probably my favorite fighting game company.

@@thomascookfyi When it comes to IP's that Arcsys don't own (so games besides Guilty Gear and Blazblue), they need the go ahead from the publisher. So they can't retrofit rollback into DBFZ without Bamco's say-so.

Blazblue was my first proper fighting game, and the one that made me fall in love with the genre. It's been years since I first got it, and the fact I can now play it online is amazing And the fact a kind soul let me have it for free by giving out steam codes is incredible. No idea if my pc can run it but having the opportunity to fight against actual people is way too good to not try, put the things I learned about the game and all the fighting games I've played since to use And of course it's great to hear the rollback's good! Delay is awful for the country I live in since everyone else is so far away so I'm so excited!

This made me extremely happy. I've been playing fighting games casual since I was young but BBCF was the first game where I decided to put in a little more effort to learning what things do. That was a few years ago and that's when I first started watching Koe. He really was part of my first step into discovering the fgc. Before I found out about Max, Sajam, or any other larger fgc creator. I haven't had time to watch the streams, but seeing him back on Blazblue for the rollback, really made me think back to this being my very first introduction to the fgc.

Seriously, some people still don't know to never play fighting games on wifi. (This isn't COD/Fortnight/etc. guys) If it's a physical issue, i.e. your router is far away outside of your room, buy a LONG Ethernet cable. My router is in the living room, but I have 100 ft cord that connects directly to my PC room. I dont care if your PC is in the basement and the internet modem is in the 2nd floor, you direct connect it.

Don't get hung up about losing. Focus on learning instead. Ignore the idea of winning and losing for a session and focus on what your opponent is actually doing, what you can do to stop them, and what you should do to retaliate. A different mindset can make all of the difference.

Use training mode to get work on a specific thing. My biggest problem was that I spent a majority of my play time in challenge and training mode, because I had trouble finding matches when I first got into the game. You need matchup experience more than anything in my opinion. I got completely destroyed by a Carl once. Even though I played poorly (was still new at the game) there was one thing I noticed. I saw a pattern in his block string, so I responded to the gap in the pressure, and now I was on the offense. Me, some shitty player ended up almost taking a round from this player with thousands of matches under his/her belt. It was an achievement for me. Try to focus on what you do wrong and when you do something right as well. Blazblue was my first dash fighter and I played on stick (was still new to it.) so I used to struggle with super jump cancels from crouching normals because it felt awkward. It used to bug the hell outta me that I couldn’t consistently get something that seemed like it should be so easy, and critical for some characters combos. I stopped trying so hard to do it, and just focused on other elements of my gameplay. Eventually I came back to it and got it with ease. I couldn’t believe it. If you are struggling with a certain aspect of the game a mental/physical break from it could sometimes be the best thing. It doesn’t have to be a long break. Take each match as a learning experience, win or lose. Blazblue is great, and will always be my favorite.

Back when I used to play it was hard to find matches so it would be very frustrating to logon and see barely anyone on. I didn’t test all of the stages, but one message I remember on someone’s player card was “Lessons only please.” So I don’t imagine the other stages were nice to play online.

Tried to play and couldn't really find any matches. Was able to try with a couple friends back in the states, but finding people in Taiwan or Japan has been hard. When I say "playing" with people in the states, I mean 300-400ms and completely unplayable. Hopefully it's just a part of the beta, but can't get better net in my area. p.s. Strive from here to Chicago was perfectly playable with very minimal rollback. So I'm hoping it'll be fine after some tweaks. -.-

Izayoi is the better character overall but naoto got the difficulty prestige. i'd recommend izayoi if you're new to fighting games since her combos are easier and learn naoto combos on the side. other than that, if you want to break your hands and earn some of that prestige, play naoto.

It's all a slow down for me. I can only hope they're playing through WIFI but my god was it rough especially when it comes to movement. Just for footnote, apparently it's like one sided. I'm playing like it's underwater still but the other player seemed to have no problem at all. If anyone can identify either it's from me or the other player or even the game itself, it would be much appreciated. All in all it's all still fun even though i lost a lot. I can only imagine how does it feel like without the rollback.

It's so unfortunate because sometimes the input just bogged or i can't react to anything at all while the other player seem to react anything just fine. At first i thought they were on Auto combo or something but after looking up the replays, they were playing just like usual with motion inputs and all. This kinda thing makes me keeping up at night ngl.
