I am really so confused! I am looking for a second screen for my mac mini m1. I make music.. Started looking at the PD3220U but then saw the PD3205U (newer and a bit cheaper) and since I do not edit fotos or film I am thinking I will not notice any difference.. Tried the Dell ultrasharp U3219q and i great.. Now i am thinking due to the scaling if a 27 4k screen would be better ??Can you help :-)

The 27" should show a little more detail. They are both 4K - 3840 x 2160 pixels - so same PPI as far as the Macs requirements go. You will need to adjust from the default setting unless you can handle the tiny text size. Don't know how that will relate to your viewing of audio waveforms . So have It really comes down to whether you need/want the extra real estate of the 32"

I have watched over a dozen videos on this monitor and nobody-I repeat-nobody has shown the scaling effect that you show at 5:07. Bravo for this demonstration, it was extremely helpful. I have ordered this exact monitor and also the BenQ PD3420Q 34” 2K Ultrawide Monitor to compare, knowing that I shall return one of them. Great video mate! Cheers from Montreal, Canada!

Thank you Bruce - a comprehensive review of this monitor. Probably a bit too large for my limited desk space. Looking forward to your next review! ⭐👍

Thanks John, I am hoping for an Asus ProArt 27" as the next monitor review

@VideoTutors Do you observe any flickering issue with a MacBook Pro connected with USB-C ?

Problem, I don't have access to a MacBook Pro to try. But would find it surprising that just a single model would be different from any other.

I have a Benq PD3205U and have followed your review and settings. Unfortunately I can't scale the "option key" to 3360x1890? Latest Os Ventura 13.2 and Mac Mini M2. Unfortunately also a flickering image every day. Only by disconnecting the monitor from the power does the flickering go away. The Monitor is connected to the Mac mini via USB-C. I bought a USB-C monitor especially to connect it with one cable and to be able to use the KVM switch at the same time. Unfortunately, this is not a solution, a monitor should work as intended via USB-C, even if connecting via HDMI or display port does not offer a solution. It's actually sad that after all this time Apple hasn't changed anything by means of an update (for this bug). Too bad, because a monitor other than that of Apple itself (which is much too expensive) apparently does not solve the problem.
