From my understanding, the Peacemaker show was just something James Gunn was messing around with in quarantine and didn't expect it to actually become anything, but surprise! Ratcatcher 2 should absolutely get a show. I also just realized why Amanda sent Harley & Flag to be part of the cannon fodder team. Harley Quinn had already escaped Waller's grasp once (twice technically) and this could be a form of payback as well as acknowledging that she just can't control Harley like everyone else. As for Flag, it was almost foreshadowing that Waller didn't want someone like Flag potentially getting his hands on the information as he absolutely wouldn't stand for what Waller was doing.

The Harley one makes sense, but she makes sure that Team 2 rescued Rick Flag.
@KillerEggFromOuterSpace3 жыл бұрын
@@IronFerret62 Right I understand the Flag might be a bit of a stretch, but she could also have wanted Team 2 to "rescue" Flag so that she could keep tabs on him. Flag isn't like the rest of team. I think one thing this movie nails that the first was doing a bad imitation of was style. It was so clear that the first one was just edited like a trailer would be, and all of the pretty colors and licensed music were not only completely out of place and extremely jarring, but used less and less as the movie went on. In this one you really can really feel that Gunn had a particular stylistic vision that he was able to apply consistently throughout the whole movie (i.e. the use of title cards, zooms), and it honestly makes the movie such a better experience. It feels like this is what Warner thought they were getting with the first one when the sent it off to be butchered by that trailer house.

@theamazingworldofkezza51323 жыл бұрын
@@mullaoslo totally agree with being the most accurate to dc but warner's decisions about the future vision for this universe, I beg to differ about that. As much as it saddens me to see Henry and Affleck go - the time of those portrayals seems to be over regardless, they belonged to Snyder and I cant see any other filmmaker knowing how to use them in that same way (Josh Whedon proved that sufficently). Flashpoint is an option to revamp the universe whilst paying tribute to what has already been made. I think bring back the cast of justice league mortal, let Snyder be a visual director for the films but not a story director. Making the revamp with the same structure as the animated series of movies starting with justice league mortal which gives us an introduction to all these characters briefly and effectively enough that a whole solo movie is unnecessary (or just bring in some of the same actors of characters but theyre different appearances as its only a variation of the universe that way Gal and Jason can stay as WW and aqua). Then suicide squad 3 (the second one could've easily pulled off being in any universe so continuing it isn't a problem) and teen titans where they can take on a huge villain like death stroke, three teams in one phase, why not even throw legion of doom in there too. Instead of doing character by character solo movies DC make their defining trait TEAMS, then theyre not particular competing with marvel because its not their defining trait. I personally think make team movies, they have so many in DC that making solo movies just seems a waste. Instead of a flash movie make a rogues team movie. Instead of a batman movie make a Arkhum Asylum inmates team movie. Watching the same character's done over and over is repetitive but when the focus is on the impact of the team less focus is on batman and more so the villains, ev even if batman or flash get more screen time they make it more about the challenge they face then the character we're so familiar with. There's so many team's DC can use to get themselves a leap ahead of marvel, the society, lantern corps, secret six, Gotham knights, league of assassins, court of owls, birds of prey (with the actual characters this time), sienstro corps. Solo movies are repetitive and when you have so many team options you have to use them. THIS is what will make DC superior by a long shot, not bringing back old directors and actors that did well, no, let that die, burn it if you have to, create a new age of DC, use THE TEAMS. Creativity is key, but reboot's will dig DC's grave deeper and deeper
@theamazingworldofkezza51323 жыл бұрын
@@mullaoslo its a long read im so sorry, got ahead of myself but please read it. to cut it short I explained what dc could do in the future instead of what you suggested because as much as reboot's are annoying DC need a fresh slate in terms of those two actors and snyder. Peter Capaldi was great casting for the Thinker, but he literally does no thinking the entire movie. He just walks into a bar, they essentially kidnap him, and then just leave him some random place while they try and get Harley, and then he just walks them to his lab. Like what was the point of him being in the movie? I thought he was going into the bar on purpose because he can see every outcome and it was part of some plan. Nope. He just goes there to get captured. As much as I liked the casting, the character didn't feel justified to be in the movie due to the lack of writing what his character could do. He could have been swapped out for any random scientist/lab dude. Almost like he was written as "and we have a scientist experimenting on Starro the Squad needs to capture. Oh, shit. Do you know is smart? The Thinker! He could be like a scientist dude. Good job, me. That's a good reference to a comic character." And then he didn't bother to actually write any Thinker actions. Such a waste.

But isnt that one of the main things of this movie? Everyone deems themself to "know" the only truth and to be of higher intelligence, then the average public, wich gives them the rights to do all these gruesome things. And then on the other side we have charackters like the Shark whom in the end turns out to have a higher drive for trying to do the intelligent and right thing (like actually asking is that "food" and is it ok if I eat it ... it's dead but it looks like something I still should not do). So in the end yeah he was just a regular Science dude whom seemed to think higher of his Intelligence, then it actually was. Also all these experiments dont really make him seems to be of high Intelligence ... more of a morbid general Interest)

That theory is dumb. The Forbes writer who did it left out so many factors from their thesis. The fact that they literally use films from the early 00s as proof when we are in the middle of a pandemic is funny enough, but the film has also been released on another format; a home format, is R rated, and (to Scorsese’s point) looks too different to what could be accessible “content” for audiences (thanks Marvel.) Who her father and grandfather are? Her inclusion makes no sense when her species hasn't been explored at all. The same is true for Blackguard, Savant and many others. I'm not saying it was a bad film. Not at all, it's a solid B+. I just wish it either showed us some of those connections or used characters already in dc films that we already know have those connections

@@ONECrewReacts DC would have to make more than a movie every two or three years if in not going to die of old age before they get to setting up Mongal. But God damn do I want to know why the hell the presumable daughter of a stellar warlord / emperor is in Belle Reve.

I remember cringing at John Cena's Patriot gimmick he had in the WWE PG Era. Seeing him as Peacemaker made me a very happy man.

Tbf, despite being vaccinated, I still haven't gone to a movie theater, I really don't think the movie is to blame, people are just having a hard time adjusting back to going to the movies and such

Favorite line in the entire film: “Peacemaker... What a joke...”

I can’t believe they got Emily Blunt and John Krazinski, got the F4 license from marvel, and killed the characters off so quickly..

Polka Dot Man was my favorite character. Every time his mom showed up I laughed my ass off. James Gunn unleashed is a sight to behold.

*_I wanna see BloodSport vs Deadshot now_* Btw I wonder if they'd bring in SportsMaster, Vigilante, or maybe even DeathStroke into Suicide Squad 3

Well at the very least vigilante is going to be in the peacemaker show.

I love how you never knew who would and wouldn't die (aside from Harley) I remember going back and forth on whether characters would die in the theatre. Every single member apart from Harley had potential to be the next death and it was amazing

Every youtube channel will put that john cena face in every thumbnail!! So badass!! He nailed it so hard as the Peacemaker!

I hope Flagg comes back as a voice in the peace maker show because in the comics peace maker can hear the spirits of people he's killed through his helmet. He could start hearing the voice and it's unclear if its really a spirit or just his guilt.
