Gotta make it feel like your getting your 90k worth..had Dr friend bought 750I it was using a lot oil..not leaking ..bought used with 10k miles..turns out bad castings for cyl heads to pores seeped oil...cost of new bare heads 9k each..2k each to assemble heads..4.5k to remove old heads and replace new heads + 1200.00 misc supplies..looked for used engine couldn't find one with updated heads..car is parked but still having to make payments..no help from anyone ar this point..even tried his Insurance but wont cover a defect..they feel BMW should cover and they say out of factory warranty no extended warranty..BMW the ultimate money pit

I can see that. But it's a stupid feature. I drive a work truck it a dusty mine. The dust doesn't collect on them. This feature is definitely over engineering. Plus all the liquid is just going to collect dust

@@Cody-hx1uq let's say the car goes to Canada, it snows there, it gets muddy and they use rock salt on the road. After driving for say 30 seconds on a snowy day, the rear of the car gets so dirty, the camera is always blocked. What do you do when you need the camera? You go out and wipe the mud across your camera and scratch it or do u use the feature?

And for us Canadians.. I suspect that the residual flow would help to de-ice the trunk pop sensor below as well... 👍

Why not just hide the camera under the badge, like VW and Mercedes? That was it doesn't get dirty in the first place. You won't have to waste washer fluid, or have your car look like it's leaking.

@@nicolaysbunny1851 sure, but if there is no keyfob, no phone, no legs free for opening that shit while your hand is packed full of bags, you'll get really mad if there is not a single option to open it in a traditional way.... Trunk opening button in the rear is not a sign that it is old fashioned or stuck in tech or bmw is falling behind... it is just the fifth way to make your life even more easy... But maybe that's just my boomer thinking.
