Another thing is that Porsche has 761 hp only during launch control (they call it overboost). When cruising it goes down to 625 hp. It would be really cool and probably more useful (overtaking etc.) if they allowed driver to activate overboost with press of a button (similar to sport response).

Taycan Turbo S has 761 bhp but that's only when using the overboost mode, which is activated only when using launch control. On a roll the Taycan has "only" 625 hp, cause there's no overboost.

It would definitely be interesting, but as long as manufacturers arent purposely lying about it, those electric motors shouldn't get anywhere close to the hp differences that some combustion engines might have. Significantly less points of failure/power losses.

The Porsche is better because it’s 50k cheaper that’s enough of a reason, if the lucid had a bmw badge or any other German make and is the same price, it will be the only time that it will be worth it, they could have put the Porsche badge on the i8 and called it taycan and people would have still gassed it, but the fact that the managed to increase the power for launch control is just amazing engineering but the lucid still has more horsepower but the Porsche is always gonna be more reliable so that alone deserves respect but the lucid accomplishment as an unknown brand is amazing but the pricing makes it more like a project

I just knew about the problems from various videos, but your comment made me look up the actual data now ✌️😁 The Model S Plaid has 395/365 mm (F/R) brake disks, which is actually bigger than the Taycan's stock 360/358 mm (F/R), *BUT* while the Taycan has 6/4 pistons (F/R), the Model S Plaid only has 4/1 pistons (F/R), the rear piston being a swimming variant. That's absolutely disgusting, especially considering the Plaid's weight and power!
