Is the Bronco too LOUD? AWE 0FG Catback Exhaust Install and Comparison - Bronco Build: Day 6!

Today we install the AWE 0FG (Zero F's Given 😳) cat-back exhaust. I ran into some fitment issues as well as other small hiccups. But overall, a straight forward installation.
We also do a sound comparison between the stock Bronco exhaust and the 0FG. And at least for me, I'm surprised by the results. Too much bass? Too much drone? ... maybe not, but definitely not wife-approved. 😬

Oh shit I'm running this system! First of all, I freaking love it - and the bashguard is sick, protect those tips. Also, the guy that melted his bumper - i saw that too - FWIW goes on to say that he messed up the install then it was fine. I'm running this on my 2.7 sasquatch and honestly its what it needed and yea, how'd they make this turbo sound good i don't know. there's no drone on the highway i think a lot of people confuse loud with drone - ya gotta have modded a lotta cars to know what drone really is and i can tell you this aint drone but it does wake it up. anyway dm me if you want more info, i had another exhaust on mine before awe and took it off and it was the right move. i had a problem with one of my tips looking bad so I had to reach out to them and then got their tip cleaning stuff and they were super cool and it worked lol! 😀

Everyone’s ears are different … ‘cause mine drones on the highway. It’s the worst at low rpm and that’s where you sit at speed. I love the bash guard too. And love that there’s no huge can behind the bumper. But doing it again, I might’ve gone with the thrust master. At least you can tune the volume after installation. Glad you like yours though. Definitely a quality product and gives the bronco a voice. 💪

@@hadtocheathimtobeathim6549 you might be right. I might understand what ‘drone’ is incorrectly. All I know that at highway cruising speeds, there is a constant ‘drone’ from the exhaust that gets a bit loud and tiresome. When you accelerate and the rpm’s rise above say, 3500, then it gets a bit more liveable. 🤷‍♂️

First, I’m glad I found your channel. As soon as I saw that the exhaust tip ended under the vehicle I was concerned. What you could try doing is put some insulation above the old muffler heat shield. Or have a muffler shop cut off the tip and put and extension (hey, hope you didn’t throw away that 4 door piece!) to move the tip outside the edge of the vehicle.

To reduce the sound? I might swap it out at some point but need to get my money’s worth out of it first ;) When I remote start it from cold, and my wife and I walk out of the house, we walk out into this corner that reverberates the sound…. It’s crazy loud. 😅 She hates it. 🥹 AWE has tips you can buy. Either a dual 4” or single 5”. I think it’s just as loud plus you lose ground clearance. 🤷‍♂️

I like the sound too but it’s a bit too loud off idle. And gets a bit monotonous on the highway.

I have the exact same feelings…love the sound outside…in the cab, it’s loud! Cell phone use is laughable.

Once it’s warmed up, idle/off throttle is not that bad. But a cold engine or on throttle it’s 😳! And there’s certain bass frequencies where if you’re standing outside or sitting inside in just the right place,.. it’s 😬. Definitely not wife-approved.

I looked at everything that came out. They all seemed too quiet. I was looking for a certain sound. A rumble. And would love some crackling/popping. Also, wanted something high and tight you the body. This was the closest. But when the engine is cold,.. it’s a bit too 😳. 😅

How bad is the drone? Are Long trips an issue with the drone? Would it be blocked with music or is it to much drone

Hmm. Good question. I’d say if you’re sensitive to drone, then yes, too much. If that type of things doesn’t bother you too much, then no, it’s not bad. At highway speeds or when your revs drop below 3000 it’s not that bad. You can hear it but it could be covered with music. Even without music, not that bad. But above 3000, especially if you’re on the gas and then more especially if you’re engine isn’t fully warm, it is loud. I hope that helps.

In one video I watched on this system, the exhaust ended up melting part of the bumper.....it wouldn't be a big deal to me, but some might freak out about it

Never checked.. will do and reply back. Personally, replacing my rear anyway for a metal one. But still might change the exhaust back. It’s too loud! Anyone looking to buy one in the GTA, let me know (if you don’t know what ‘GTA’ is, you’re not in it 😉)

My friend has this kit. This guy doesn't know what drone is. This kit doesn't drone. Try a Flowmaster, then let me know what Drone is, lol. This company makes exhausts for McLarens they know what they are doing. its louder but it doesn't make your head hurt. loud=good. organ explosion=drone=bad.
