The camera that introduced me to the world of photography. 600D was my first camera and some of my best photos were shot with it, but as you get more professional, you need more power and specs that 600D cannot provide due to its age and being crop not full frame so I decided it's time to move to mirrorless Canon RP.

Using 600D since 2013. Still running great. Battery still holds up. The display has got some vignetting effect in the corners but the output is still as good as day 1. Bought Nikon D3000 and changed it in 6 months to this as i realised that doesn't give manual settings for video. And the feel of holding a Canon is very satisfying. And 11 years of 600D. I love it. I use a GoPro often for my videos these days but on a fine Sunday I would take out a 600 D and simply walk around and click.

Thank you for the review! I just told my boyfriend that I want a camera to try myself in photography and he told me that he has this one which he never uses!! So now I'm sure it will become a great tool for me to study some photography!!

I bought mine in 2012, after all this year's still works like a charm. Autofocus can be improved as well as other settings, with external software that you can simply install on the SD card. It allows you to use the arrow keys use for menu navigation to controll focus on video recordings, tho the focus sound is true, and even tho it will very highly depend on your lenses, it is audible if you use the built in mic which isnt amazing on modern standards or a close external microphone. My biggest complain is the limited range of exposure and sensor sensibility for low light photography and the sensor max speed, which compared to new cameras, smartphones or cameras from a couple years ago, is slow, very slow. I am thinking on changing it for something in the line of a Sony alpha 3 or 4. But for a. Beginner I would go for it, I still use the original battery and it hasn't lose much of its capacity, and if you simply turn of the camera between shot area I can last a full day no problem. Of course for professional intensive use it quite limited.

I bought the 600D in 2013 when I decide to move to digital photography, Now I'm a full frame guy but the 600D equipped with the 24mm pancake lens is a light weight companion for street photography and for every situation where I don't want to carry my full frame equipment.

I'd go for the SL1 at the same price. I bought my 2013 EOS Rebel SL1/100D in 2021 after shooting for almost ten years with a Nikon D3100, which I loved. I got beautiful images with my Nikon kit lenses until I lost my whole system when traveling in south America. After that, the Canon 100D was the most available option for my budget. My Rebel SL1/100D hasn't slowed down my photography one bit. To solve the dynamic range problem early Canon models have with washed out skies in outdoor shooting, I rely on ND and CPL filters to keep the color saturation and blue of the sky without losing the rest of my shot. For any other image challenge, whenever people ask me whether they need a better camera body, I tell them to put their money into their glass instead. It continues to serve me well. I shoot mostly street, nighttime, and concerts, so I need wide apertures and I don't want to mess with ISO noise in post-processing. The ISO can be a limitation on this camera, but it's easy to solve with a couple changes. For lowlight photography, upgrading my lenses to faster apertures were the game changer. I don't need to use extreme high ISO because I have Sigma Art series f/1.4 primes at 30, 50 and 85mm focal lengths, plus a great little Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 zoom. Additionally, the Sigma Art series makes two absolutely killer crop sensor zoom lenses that beat the pants off the similar Canon L series lenses and for several hundred dollars less. If you want to shoot mostly with zoom, their 18-35mm f/1.8 and 24-70 f/2.8 are the best glass you can put on any Canon APS-C camera. If you can't afford the Art series, the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 that came before it is still a great lens, and Samyang makes a beautiful MF 85mm f/1.4 that you can grab used for ~$150. Christopher Frost has done really solid lens reviews on Sigma, Canon, Tamron and Samyang lenses for Canon which have informed my buys. I'm also having tons of fun with the Lensbaby Optic Swap lens system (available in 30, 50 and 85mm focal lengths depending on which optic). Their original Lensbaby series are pretty inexpensive now at second-hand prices and you can get beautiful effects that make your photography really unique. MPB is the best of all the secondary markets for camera gear. Plus you get their six-month warranty. Never buy new. There is no reason to eat all the depreciation on new gear when people are constantly upgrading and trading out their systems. You can get high-end glass at second-hand prices through them without any of the risk you have when buying from, say, eBay sellers.

i still own this one aftere 10 years, still use it now. I went to a repair shop last week to clean it and the owner was stunned to see one in that good shape. he also told me that it is still a veery professional camera today!

while every you said about use is spot on…. In reality this thing can take a beating. I’ve had since 2012 and it’s seen rain snow sand everything and still keeps trucking. Not sure how many photos I’ve hit but it’s still as truck as they day I got it. And I bought it refurbished! It’s… the best. (Yes there are better… but it’s the best to me). Is a good used Canon EOS Rebel T3i good for just using for shooting quality Photos for E-bay listings, etc.? Or should I spend a little more and go for a T6S or Nikon D5300? Been just using my Samsung Galaxy the last 8 years. I grew up using new Canon AE1 35mm film when I had a photography class in school. Ergonomics is not mentioned in the review and that is what I like about my 600D. It's my go-to camera for holidays and days out when I want to save a bit of weight. I use the kit lens and the 55/250 Canon zoom and prime lenses sometimes. On photo-shoots I now use full frame but looking back on the photos I took with the 600D most of them are nothing to be scorned about.

Hi. Whether the photos will need retouching or not doesn't have much to do with the camera, but more with your understanding of how to use it :) Something like the 600D is great for a beginner. I am a graphic designer but recently I was told to shoot product photo so I used Canon 600D with kit lens which I bought almost 12 years ago. The photo turned out OK, but couldn't take details, and also couldn't take close shot. I might have to take more product photos next month, so I wonder if I should get better Camera like 5D Mark 4 (I want R6 but too expensive for a graphic designer), OR can I just get better lens like EF100mm F2.8L Macro IS USM???? Sure, happy to help out. So first off, each lens has a minimum focusing distance. That means that if you're too close, the autofocus won't work. Try out and see where the minimum distance for your lens is. Then, switch to manual focus, and you'll be able to get a bit closer. I don't know which lens you current have, but yeah, you're going to want to get a longer lens for details. Something like the EF 100mm, or the 75-300mm one I've reviewed on the channel. That'll allow you to zoom in like crazy, and get details :) I hope this helps 👍

Yes the lesser the number, the better. Entry level cameras have 3 digits, 1000D, 1200D, 2000D etc. The the 500D, 600D, etc Professional APSc, 40D, 50d, etc.. Then at the top, 5D, 6D, 1D being the pro model
