Is The CR8090 Junk?

some people think I bought a junk combine. I did not lol. all equipment breaks this combine is no different. anyway I guess if I don't use it it won't break but this thing is running good other than some normal Eff ups that happen. the corn is yielding like expected. some is better some is worse but all in all its going to be an average crop.

I love how people can share info online. For example, there were quite a few comments saying don't use a Baldor motor on the auger when he first installed it, and now Wes has the same failures the rest of us have experienced. But Wes has a bigger audience than those of us making random comments online, so now maybe more people will stay away from Baldor motors on augers. This is the best channel on youtube for real farmers.

"who needs another cash crop" lol. A clever guy might set the combine height up near the top of the rye heads to clip the grain off and then follow up with planting into the standing rye where you roll it down after the cash crop emerges. I learned through this year's drought to leave the rye standing until the cash crop sprouts and then flatten the rye. Because the standing rye pulls up moisture from the roots plus the top growth captures dew to aid in cash crop germination. Dew is important. One trial I broadcast dry beans into standing rye, went through the drought, and the beans sprouted, flattened the rye, and did well, I didn't need to poke all those seeds in the dirt even. Test and be observant.

Baldor used to be one of the best motors for severe applications. Not sure what happened with them. Look for a motor with class "H" insulation. Wes, I believe Theresa is one of the best things that ever happened for you. Pure gold !

Hey olf befor you start beans check that your rock door isn't seized i just bought a cr 940 and put a rock through it. There's a set of pins connected to a hydraulic cylinder that seize and also the door itself seizes. The way you check it's working is put you head down turn on everything full throttle and hit the red emergency button on your handle. It will open the door if not probably seized. Good luck

So true! I watch other channels and yes there yields are higher because the ground they farm is a better quality and more suited for higher yields. Idiot proof ground. I just can't see how they spend that amount of money on everything. and still have money left over.

Thanks for another harvest update, the seed farm I worked at ran a TX 66 for a few years, that was the same it did a better job fully loaded. The guy I work for now runs Masseys with 30 and 36 ft headers. You think that corn heads intimidating. you should try running a 36ft down a main highway with a 100 KPH limit and the clowns behind in cars are trying to undertake the end of the header when they are passing, just as you try pulling out round highway signs in the right ditch. Or they try passing just as you are get on a bridge that's about 2ft wider than the header. Take care guys.

Probably a bit expensive but I did see Tony Fast installed poly flight protectors on his unload augers. Wonder if it’s worth trying to help with wear on the auger tube should it flex letting the flighting come in contact with the tube.

Most combines are designed to run at FULL capacity. A good crop is always easier to combine than a poor crop.........(my opinion based on my combine adventures)😁😁😁😁😁

That dryer/auger motor that keeps blowing... Is there a VFD on it? If no put one on. If yes the amperage/current limiting/current ramping/torque setting is probably set wrong.

Compared to the one you were using, yes it's junk 😊 but it's still better than a John Deere rotor, personally I'm going to stick with Masseys from the 70's, but you got to do you so I hope things get better with it and keep those good videos coming

Our older CR is about 1 kernel per square foot in corn, seems like that's all it does. Same way with soybeans. See most loss from the header. CRs want to be run full when able, get a better sample the more going through.

we had a neighbor whose gravity box broke a spindle he was gonna drive his tractor in the ditch of a county road to pick it up the cops said he couldnt do that with out the land owners permission? he looked at the cop and said how come OUR employees {county workers} do NOT have to ask to come on the property cut down good live healthy trees spray chemicals to kill some dumb weed how come they DONT have to ask?? the cop shut up took a few steps back

Should’ve told the police to come back with a warrant if they wanted to inspect your tractors. If they recorded the serial #’s off your tractor, you can be sure that your tractor was blamed for hitting something in their report.
