Hi Mike, it’s Mary with the Portola! Love your review here - you’re having so much fun and are so cheery, you always make make me want to dump my work and go hop on my bike so I can get fresh bugs in my teeth from smilin’! My other ebike is the Denago City 1, which is quite similar to the Commute 1. (Blue Commute 1 is way more gorgeous though!) *** A GREAT thing about these Denago bikes: you can go into the settings super easily and change the max speed to 12-28 mph. Class 3 (28mph) has PAS 1, by default, rocketing to 16mph, which is too fast in a lot of situations. If you set the max to 20, for example, the max in PAS 1 will be 12 mph, and PAS 2-5 levels will automatically have their percentages of power adjusted proportionately. So whether you set the max speed at 12, 13… or 28, each PAS level’s speed will be proportionately adjusted for smooth transitions. This makes it easy to customize your levels according to your terrain, winding trails, or riding with groups where you don’t want your PAS 1 level to accelerate so quickly that you’re feathering your brakes all the time. You “match” your bike to the needs of each ride. Once you get to “know the bike,” you can just adjust it in a matter of seconds to customize its response to meet the need. When I’m in the open and want to fly, I set it to its full Class 3/28mph and let ‘er rip. I’ve had it up to 32 mph - it’s a very stable bike. When I’m in a group ride on Turkey Mountain’s regular bike trails, I can slow it down to fit the group’s pace. Great versatility for a cadence sensor bike! I’d have bought the Commute 1, but it was $500 more than my City 1 at time of purchase. So I got the City 1, added fenders and rack for $120, and already had excellent tail light and headlight to add to it. These Denago’s are really built well, stock all the parts in their warehouse, and CS is responsive. You can get rid of all your cars now and just commute with your Denago and your little trailer. 🤣🤣🤣 Hope you’re well - love your chipper and fun reviews!!!

Woa! Hadn't considered an ebike (not seriously) as a commuter vehicle... gotta say, this bike got my attention Mike! (Believe it or not, been a fan for a while now and was used to seeing Benz all over). Amateurish bike user, just my current location doesn't really help on jumping in on a beauty like this bike!

Mike, I have a young KZbin channel and would like to learn how to review e-bikes? Who would be the best company to start with?

I would much more likely watch the bike videos than those awful foreign cars.

No one makes you watch them. I enjoy riding the bikes and making videos about them.
