1:01 the Power More does NOT double the range since it has 250wh and the normal battery has 400wh The weight 1:28 the bike as we see it is not 15,3 kg. It’s the weight of the non equipped bike as one can check on Canyon website

7k carbon gravel ebike with carbon wheels for commuting?! My dentist is going to love this bike.
@garrystr5 ай бұрын
I have this bike, I love it, ride it mainly with the motor off but if i come across a big hill or head wind, just gives me that bit of assistance to keep the average speed up. The motor is not intrusive and the weight and motor resistance aren’t noticeable penalties over the limiter or with the assistance off.
@agentolshki42654 ай бұрын
What sort of speed can you maintain on flat tarmac? I'm looking for a bike to commute. It's 14k each way, if I could do it under 40 mins it would be viable.
@garrystr4 ай бұрын
@@agentolshki4265 I have an FTP of about 205W, which is about 3W/Kg for me, with the standard tyres on this bike, which are Schwalbe G one Bite, without wind or incline i can probably hold about 28kph to 30kph on the flat for 30mins, which is above the limiter in the UK (and the EU) so i would get no assist from the bike, accelerating up to speed is significantly quicker. However, if it is windy it is easy to hold 25kph without any effort and so would take 34mins to cover the 14k without stopping. It’s the stopping and starting that will really impact your average speed, so if your commute has traffic lights, pedestrians, people with dogs, etc, this will impact your journey time more.

Interesting review. I got a Giant e-revolt earlier this year, primarily because of a health issue. I find it is brilliant, I can ride with my mates, who are happy to sit on my wheel into headwinds. I get a good zone 2 workout every time I ride, but can get higher levels by reducing the power or turning the assistance off. I have found my fitness has improved. I was using levels 2&3 most of the time, now mainly level 1. I ride when I wouldn't necessarily have gone out due to my health problem. I can now also ride my normal bike again as a result. Your comment on the power button is a good one, on mine the left shifter operates the power up & down, which is brilliant. I rode several e-bikes & found having to use the button on the top tube very frustrating after a while. The bike also rolls really well over the cutoff, inspite of it's weight. As for the range, on my last full charge I ran to empty and got 120miles with over 3000 ft of ascent, this was over 3 separate rides. I have some bigger, hillier rides planned to investigate this further. I really enjoy your videos, thank you.

I have the same bike, I bought it last September & got a great deal on it. I have the Giant Revolt E Pro XR. I noticed Giant just dropped a 2024 model but its not as good a spec as the one in Rosewood. The newer one doesn't have full D-Fuse, they haven't used the D-Fuse system on the handlebars & they now use the EP6 which is alloy as opposed to the EP8 being magnesium, which makes the EP6 heavier. They also dropped GRX in favour of Ultegra. The newer model is not a pro spec & they priced it at £4499. They changed the colour to that horrid bright green.
@stephenwilliams83846 ай бұрын
@@SwazersC I have the 2024, the rear derailleur is xt di2, so gives me a much better range for me, 47 front, 51 rear, only the shifter are ultegra. I also prefer the green, looks great in the light. The bike rides really well.

Thanks for the review, I agree having mode control on the bars would be nice to have. This bike checks a lot of boxes for me, have one on order. I was also comparing this on paper to the Specialized Creo. For those in the US market, note the storage and mudguards aren't yet available here.

This bike would suit me perfectly. Here in very hilly Slovakia some assistance on long steep hills would be great, allowing for a longer ride, and a more steady day out. The versatility of the bike is ideal too, you could ride from your doorstep into the hills and back home with the bike being pretty perfect for most surface types. The only issue is the price, which is out of my league unfortunately.

Just interested how you'd say it compares with the Creo 2? Weighing up one or the other at the moment although there's no rush to decide due to stock levels

I love the fact that the front & rear lights are integrated with the on-board battery. So many e-bikes neglect that feature! I just wish that the battery was easily removed for charging off the bike. Also, that frame bag is extremely fugly and I can't get past that to see that this bike might actually be nice looking without that bag mounted there! Thank you for the great review & ride!

Almost perfect do-it-all bike. If a bit more weight could be shaved off, and it had a removable battery, it would be great. Not a fan of Canyon’s colour schemes on the Grizls.

I don't like the frame bag but aside from that, it's an attractive bike. I'm only sixty, so maybe something like that when I get older would be nice.

It seems like the specialized aluminum version may be a better option for most. Similar setup except the motor cuts out at a higher speed, is more powerful, is the same price as the lower end grizl. It's certainly the direction I'm leaning towards. Great review!

Im looking at an e bike for commuting, mostly a roads. What sort of speed can i maintain on the flat? Why does the motor cut out and are there versions that keep the power on? Also with the gearing, is the top gear up there with a racer for instance?

Here in Europe 15.5mph or 25kph is when the motor assist cuts off

The Giant Revolt E represents suprior value, IMO. It's massively cheaper to buy & the spec is still excellent. I know I bought one. I got mine brand new for £3k with a huge discount. I have GRX DI2 & D-Fuse technology. I get the Shimano EP8 with 85nM. The Giant is over 4k cheaper. The Canyon is ridiculously priced. I find the price an insult to the consumer.

Who in the hell is going to spend? $7000 on a road or gravel bike that cuts out at 15 miles per hour. 15mph on a bike like that is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I dont get electric gravel bikes. The point of gravel bikes over MTB's is speed and weight, so the advantage of gravel bikes withers down to almost nothing when you put a battery on it and restrict its speed. Just get a hardtail e-bike with some bar ends for comfort.

E-bikes sales are sky high and trend will continue until they are completely saturated. However, this bike missed the mark. All the e-bikes being sold are either mountain bikes or for transportation. These applications make sense. Nobody is buying a 5k e-gravel bike.
