I have owned this saw for a few years and after light use it still performs well. I really like the soft-start (also on my excellent Grizzly portable table saw) as it prevents tripping marginal circuit breakers.

Evolution has made some nifty tools. Their saws have been around for a while. I used to have one. I suspect for people doing some of metal work here and there this saw could be good. Nice work!

I need a cold cut saw to cut some painted 3x3s and I didn't want to buy a dedicated single purpose saw. This looks like a much more versatile product that is much easier to justify. I wish they made a 12" model. Thanks for the review.

This brand mitre saw is very popular with DIYers here in the UK. I have one and, for non-daily, non-pro/home use it is perfect. Power tools are generally much more competitively priced in the US but I still got mine new, a year ago, for the equivalent of $125 at today's exchange rate (but it's the single bevel version). In UK terms it is a bargain! They do need to be checked for square more regularly than a blue/yellow/red brand but, for what you pay, they are fantastic value. Here they also sell 110V versions. If you work on a site then you can only use 110V and I've seen quite a few tradespeople use them too.

I think Ill keep my dual bevel sliding bosch saw for wood, and my old clarke 14” chop saw for steel. Ive had my clarke for 20 years with no issues. Direct drive motor to blade and it didnt bog down cutting a road grader blade in half. Ultimately it all depends on what you are going to use it for.

The stand is almost the same as the Masterforce Universal Folding stand available at Menards. The Masterforce stand has accessories such as wheel kits (if it doesn't come with them) and a surge protector 3 plug power strip.

Well done review. I've always been very skeptical of all in one type tools. While this saw looks capable, I don't think it will survive in a serious shop or on a job site.

How did you make it fit? Evolution blades has a different diameter for the center hole.

For some reason your videos haven't been coming up for quite a while... I'm subscribed and the bell is rung... but I'm not getting the notifications...🤷‍♂️ Very nice saw Brian... I actually used to have this stand...I ended up giving it to my brother with a Metabo miter saw when I got my DeWalt miter saw and new stand...not bad..but yeah, it is a little short...I'm 6'2"...

I'm a Metal Fabricator by trade. But I do remodel work now. So this saw (single bevel) has been amazing for me. Take the time to Keep it square and keep blades dedicated for Metal or wood and it will serve you well. Sure beats one of those (horrible) metal cut off saws with only an adjustable vice.

Best thing to do is get Evolutions (or another brand) metal cutting blade if you're dedicating it to metal. The multi purpose will work, it just wont last as long
