Oh dang we just bought a bunch of fakes! No 860 tho, so this has got me hyped one might not suck
@Tools-Tested6 ай бұрын
I was shocked, already a 860 fake. Yeah it should be interesting if you can find one that won't suck. This had decent torque but no driving power.

I really love kislux bags. The fabric is very good. The golden embellishments add a touch of beauty. When I went to the church, I received some praise.

Love your setup. That's a really cool way to test the impacts. Great video!

Funny how the fake has the hammer drill symbol on the side.

Yeah I noticed that and laughed.

At least they were modest and didnt put the XR badge on it.

But it has the hammer drill symbol lol.

Oh man these fakes are getting harder and harder to spot! Though I don’t think I would’ve fallen for this one, there’s definitely some counterfeit batteries I might’ve fallen for if I was that hard up for cash and batteries. Thanks for the fantastic video. Here’s an idea to ponder as a future video, a run down of all the fake tools and batteries and key ways to spot them. I’ve seen plenty of videos comparing counterfeit to real, and those videos usually contain some tips about how to spot fakes, such as how the battery charge level indicators work. But I’ve yet to see a video dedicated solely to how to spot fakes. Obviously this would take time to put together, a lot of time, so maybe an idea for way off in the future? Regardless, great video, keep up the awesome work!

It's bad. Fake batteries are worse since they can catch fire. There was a spate of fake climbing gear, too, and when tested they failed well under spec.

Slightly faster than driving the screws by hand still :)

Yep, I'm surprised it lasted through testing.

3:20 would you be able to examine the DCF860 (North America Version/ Real) to see what makes it drop down a gear when driving larger fasteners? Even on your weight test it starts fast and then drops down a gear. I opened it up and tried to tinker around with it, but it's hard without a schematic. I think it's a safety feature to prevent the tool and battery from overheating. It will drive little fasteners no problem. When driving 6" × 5/16" and anything bigger or longer it always steps down a gear after a couple seconds. It would be interesting to see why this occurs.

I was using fake chinese before.. went through 5 of them in 2 years. So i bought real one and have it for 3 years now working crazy good

As far as color goes, the fake kislux here looks more vivid, clear and clean! I can't tell the difference anyway, probably because I'm dumb and I'll never be able to buy and own it! Haha

Looks fine for the non professional
@Tools-Tested6 ай бұрын
Yeah its something to consider for the price.

If you’re a homeowner/DIYer why not just get a ryobi or harbor freight that have warranties instead of the knock off.

Love these fake comparisons!

Yeah its interesting to see, it started when I bought a counterfeit M12 battery by mistake. It really is crazy how close some of these counterfeits look to the real thing.
@cdee60966 ай бұрын
Its scary how closely they resemble each other. I wonder if any of my tools are actually counterfeit. I more than likely will never know.
@solomonshv6 ай бұрын
no need to worry. if you use them for work, any fake tools will break long before you are outside of your 30 day amazon/ebay return window
@Tools-Tested6 ай бұрын
Yeah it really is crazy how close this resembles the actual 860.

The real one may be better because it has a better speed controller or battery have a higher energy efficiency...ill go with the speed controller, no mater how powerful your motor is if the ESC is not good then it would not provide enough current, and luckily its way more expensive to integrate a good ESC there fore why this knockoffs are not as good.
@Tools-Tested2 ай бұрын
Yep very good point.
@james20426 ай бұрын
Well the fake cost 1/4th and performs at 1/4th so technically I see no issue. With that said anyone on the dewalt platform is likely a professional, and if your tools are making money, then buy the real ones the investment is always worth it
@Tools-Tested6 ай бұрын
Yeah in all reality it did ok considering the cost.
@Jacob-ft3oz3 ай бұрын
the reliability and longevity is something to consider. I'm sure these fakes fail at a rate greater than 1/4 of the lifespan of the real one.

Can somebody tell me where you will run into fake battery tools? I see fake batteries all the time everywhere but usually not the tools. Any good tips to spot fakes like packaging or anything?
@Tools-Tested5 ай бұрын
Normally the fake tools have to be imported through aliexpress but it’s possible you could find them on eBay just like the batteries.

Which genuine impact model would fake be comparable to?
@Vanman_fr6 ай бұрын
None of them. You can't even try to compare them the 12v dewalt is way faster than that thing.

I'd say probably the 12v brushed units from like 8+ years ago

So where do you find these fake tools? Order them on the internet? Why isn't Dewalt doing something about this? Why isn't this podcaster letting us know where they are for sale, who is selling them so we can avoid buying them?
