I’ve had the V2 for 7 months and it is a superb rim, so adaptable to lots of racing. The buttons dials and switches are so good, you can hardly believe you did without them. The forces are more concentrated due to the size and its worth every penny.

This might not be appealing for most but F1 drivers make about 20-30 adjustments per lap and being able to do that in a sim helps adjust your brain to the sheer inputs required to drive a car like that. For me I means being able to hop in a higher end car later down the road and already be up to speed.

First to your question; As a "Bang for Buck" kind of consumer I went for a self assembled OSW based on the 20nm Mige. To that I mated the original Fanatec Formula Rim. Very, very happy. Total cost £1300. Add load cell pedals (Fanatec CSR Elite) at £180 used and we have all we need. Its all bolted to a reinforced budget computer desk. Hmmm, thats A$2820 so maybe I'm not so budget?Probably 1000 hours in with this wheel and with 23 adjustments on the rim incl one rotary encoder I always have enough. Zero flex. The FFB is usually set at about 45%-50% in game and 100% in the wheel software. At that level I have to wear gloves or my hands suffer too much. Agree that the smaller rim feels more direct, I guess the science is your hands have less leverage on a smaller rim so wheel is stronger, also less weight (less inertia on the steering shaft) and less flex. Keep up the good content, enjoying your channel.

I picked this wheel up about a month ago for exactly the same reason as you, it was pretty and I wanted to feel more like I was driving a GT car instead of a street car (running the DD pro). I was also really not expecting to actually be faster with this in my first 2 days but I was, I think it's a combination of it being a light wheel but with the rumble motors in the grips that tell you the fine details the FFB sometimes can't. I can feel exactly how far I can push the car on corners and acceleration now, I love it

Tried it out but seems like a purely canned effect that's meant to coincide with the amount of pressure being applied to the brake pedal? If developers use the SDK the wheel vibrates when ABS kicks in 'for real', which it seems to in ACC already! So that's great. I almost enjoyed ACC with this rim - what a feeling.
@Imannuell4 жыл бұрын
Ermin Hamidovic yes i think it can be a great effect but indeed, it depends on the game and how its utilized. I dont know how ams2 utilizes it though. I'm using a cubic OMP with 31 cm diameter and a no-name with 28,5 cm with my Accuforce, but i personally prefer the larger one, since it provides more precision and leverage against FFB-spikes. Just yesterday i checked up the Fanatec-wheels and they have many, but nothing what i want to use as a daily, since all wheels i like in size are round. This wheel in 30 cm would be nice and smaller ones are nice to enhance the FFB with belt-driven bases, but with open-wheelers they are probably just used because the monocoque is too narrow for larger ones. The difference in FFB-strength between 27 cm and 31 cm is probably 15-20% and why buying a stronger DD-base for a tiny wheel?

If i drive in VR i have no different feeling (only texture) in the Thrustmaster F1 add-on and the Sparco Rally add-on and my laptimes stay the same.
