We have a Ex cop Terra, not turbo, put a police pack, which the dash lights up police word when the battery is disconnected and re connected ? Its got over 350,000Km still had to spend over 1,500 on bushes ball joints etc, for front end and rear end, plus the first gen with 6 speed sequential auto ,brought it for less than $1,000, on the road all up 3K. :)

Im in NZ and just bought me another TTGhia (I sold my first one 4 years ago as needed a 4X4 Ute). Now I found one for cheap as (only paid $3600!) Needs some minor work to make it road legal and a bit of rust work. Otherwise its pretty sweet. Going to be an ongoing project and a family weekend driver. I love these beasts. I missed my first one, had to get this next one. Definitely fun to drive even stock. Will look into doing some big mods such as shown on this one but not until I finish the small repairs to get it legal. Oh and who cares about fuel milage, so long as you're enjoying it, who cares. Thats the last thing I think about, life to short to worry about that!

IIRC the thick rods started in 6/06 to coincide with the release of the AWD Territory turbo. The last production date of the thin rods was in the 3/06 sometime and the stock of those engines was used up before the Territory turbo was released with none being in Territories. This makes all stock Territory turbos the later thick rod engines. Could be wrong... I'm sure someone will tell me otherwise if I am LOL.
@d4nr05511 ай бұрын
You are correct, there are no "weak rod" turbo territory engines they are all Barra 245T made after 06/06 with the fatter rods. The part numbers on these rods are identical with all turbo engines from 06/06 onward, Territory, BF2/FG XR6T and FPV F6 have the same bottom end. You can push them hard, same with the ZF if its well serviced and kept cool. The only real difference is the FPV F6X territory was a BF series 270T which is slightly lower compression and bigger turbo than the FG 270T but the rods/block/crank are the same in any turbo motor after 06/06

Is it a stock barra with turbo or done the normal mods, oil pump gears, lines and intercooler etc, or has it got head work, plus rings etc, after all a turbo barra motor is total different especially the rods, still if its a stock barra with a turbo with low KW ie: 350 is nothing to sneeze at for a daily, there's no way you could put a turbo on a stock barra, intercooler, tune etc, without hurting the engine even with a mid tune say 250kw? They are made tough, but older engines will let go?

not really a very good daily if u consider fuel costs.. an FG xr6 (non turbo) uses about 14 around town and 8 on freeway a turbo terri uses about 21 town and 10 on freeway.. thats 50% more around town.. a mildly tuned xr6 (non turbo) is plenty quick for a daily and still gets ok fuel econ.. say u spend 100 on fuel a week then the territory will need about 150.. thats 2500 extra a year, 5 years thats 12500..

Take your meds mate. My gt xr6t has 550nm from 2200 to 4500 dead flat, from factory. New wastegate, turbo, cat, cai, fuel pump and injectors and a tune, pretty much doubled the rwkw and nm. The stock engine will take 440 take 1100 nm no problem. At this point, the valve springs need upgrading as the boost is pushing them open. Already a torque monster on a completely stock, unopened engine. 2jz and rbs cannot match this. What kind of pos do you drive mate ?
