I would be open to checking it out but I think it would definitely lose its charm a little. Just because that’s been the trend with each new camera and sensor. But yeah I think it would be worth exploring at least

Literally, an hour or so ago, I went into the attic to unbox my X-Pro 2, unbox and reattach the 35mm 1.4, and hold it again. You see, like many others, I joined the hype train with the news of the X100vi and boxed all my older Fuji kit to sell off. New is better, right? Well, I'm not so sure. The X-Pro 2 is the only camera to date to put a genuine smile on my face when heading out to take photos. It has produced some of my favourite images. I have a Sony A7R4 with several decent lenses. It is clinically outstanding but doesn't touch the Fuji for 'feeling' in a photo or for 'feeling' in the photographer when taking a shot. My X-Pro 2 will not be sold! I may still get the X100vi to try it for a few months, safe in the knowledge that reselling it should be fairly easy. Great video. Keep up the good work buddy 👍

I just discovered your channel. You're terrific. I'm a retired Fujifilm shooter (x-t5) I also have an x-e3. You are so well spoken: your voice is very easy to listen to, and you are wonderfully articulate. I hope that you would consider doing some videos about slightly more aesthetic issues like, for example, what shooting with one lens (as opposed to a zoom or having several) does for your creative process. I like tech channels, and game channels but many of the youtubers should never be allowed near a microphone no matter how great their expertise. Their voices can be painful to listen to. You are a real exception.

I got the XPro2 new months after it was released, after owning (still do) the X-E1 (my first Fuji back in 2012), then the X-E2S, X100T and the X-T2. The XPro2 like you said is the last great Fuji cameras ever produced. I did buy an X-H1 to pair with my X-T2 for paid work but nothing beats the XPro2 when paired with the OG lenses. As soon as Xt-1 came out I got it and been amazed by it. A couple of months ago I jumped into the band wagon of x100vi and ordered one for 2600 but before it even arrived I looked into he Xpro 2 and fell in love with it. So I ordered one with only 7000 shutter clicks from Japan. The x100vi was delivered and I was amazed by it. Then the xpro-2 arrived and I totally forgot the x100vi. It's been couple of months and I cannot put down the XPRO-2. Yes, it has a distinct quality to its photos. Besides I can change the lenses for gods sake :). Don't get me wrong, the X100vi is superior but for some reason It feels twice as good when I hold the xpro2 in my hands. It's one of those things you can't explain. So I'll be using that and will just keep the x100vi to sell it later on, in 4 or so years later :)

What are your thought's on the X-Pro2 vs the X-T2? Is there much difference in the shooting style? I have an aging X-T1 that's currently having some performance issues and will need replacing some point in the future. I'm thinking whether or not to get a newer X-T series or make the jump to the X-Pro2.
@Chazyfizzlez10 ай бұрын
@@nintendonintendont 99% of the time, I pick up the pro2 over the t2. I use these cameras in my daily carry and prefer the build quality, ergonomics and general shooting experience of the xpro line. Sometimes I feel bad and pick up the t2 because I haven’t shot with it in a while. The big viewfinder is nice on the XT line but the camera ergonomically feels too cramped for me and I like the one handed use of the xpro. The ovf on the xpro and the small “digital range finder focus patch” is a lot of fun when shooting proper manual lenses. Slows you’re shooting experience down and is enjoyable sometimes. When using evf on the pro2, it’s lacking a bit and is much smaller than the t2 so if your vision is bad, might be a struggle. Overall, pro2 feels a bit more inspiring to use and it looks sexy around your neck haha. Both would be big upgrades over the t1. The t3 is probably the sweet spot in performance/features to cost right now but it’s no longer made in Japan. Pro2 is legendary if you ask me for build quality (feels like a brick) and still made in Japan!

All true! I have owned Xpro's exclusively from 2012 and was very tempted to trade my XP2 for the XP3 when it came out but simply couldn't justify it, and in hindsight I'm pleased I didn't. The XP3 does have qualities I like, particularly the ability to hide the rear screen (which I never use), but that, allied to a few QC issues and the OVF magnification change makes me very pleased I stuck with the XP2. I REALLY hope they get it right with the XP4, although the current manufacturing climate makes me fear for it, unless Fuji makes it a premium product and charges accordingly. 🙂

“Everyone in the community was disappointed with the X-Pro3” er no, not everyone. I shot the XP2 for years, and the 1 before that, and the XP3 is hands down the better camera, don’t kid yourself. Autofocus that’s instant right across the frame even in bad light (makes that old 35 f1.4 into a better lens), the hidden screen, the bigger and brighter OVF, Classic neg film sim and presets that save the AWB settings for recipes, waist level shooting, wireless that actually works with the new app, and the image quality - with each generation of Fuji there’s always this narrative about the whichever older sensor being better and it’s ALWAYS bs. The fourth gen sensor in the XP3 has notably more dynamic range and a lower base ISO, it’s everything from the XP2 but more so and has the same filmic X-Trans qualities as all their other sensors. Build quality, well it’s covered in titanium and I’ve put that to the test with falls onto concrete that I know would have messed up the x-pro2. The XP3 is tough, literally. Sure the screen cable will probably go some day, and that’s a shame, but you know what? It’s worth it. I’d rather have all the extra capability and just get it repaired once in a while. In short, the X-Pro2 is ok but mediocre, X-Pro3 is the best X-pro they ever made and might well stay that way.
@FilmedbyFresh10 ай бұрын
After owning all three x pro’s there is definitely a difference in how each sensor renders an image. But all of those pros you listed are valid, but for what I bought this camera for they are secondary. If I want better dynamic range or fast autofocus I would pick up my A7IV which is technically leagues ahead of even the x-pro 3. With all that said I’m looking forward to whatever the xpro4 will bring if it ever comes out. But until then this xpro2 has the look I want
