Gas to the face? *Laughs in gas piston*
@mavrikmavrik30328 ай бұрын
I have a few Huxwrk cans and like them a lot. Some of my observations: 1) The normal “flash hider” works as a weak break. You get a bit of that concussion near the muzzle like with a break and I think that is why it sounds a bit louder. 2) beware of “hot swapping” a hot suppressor onto a cold gun. I generally have no issue with it locking up on a hot barrel but if you take that hot suppressor and screw it onto a cold barrel it’s not coming off unless you wrench it off. 3) it’s the best suppressor I’ve ever used for gas back to the face, very pleasant to shoot. 3) It doesn’t seem to stabilize muzzle flip as much as a regular suppressor. I don’t have hard data on this but it just doesn’t seem to zero/smooth out muzzle movement like my traditional suppressors. 4) as mentioned in the video if you have multiple suppressors this is only going to fit the guns with the corresponding muzzle device, this is especially true for P&W rifles. 5) The Cobalt Kinetics muzzle device is the best overall device I’ve ever used. It’s a unique break/comp that has a very reasonable pressure profile. You’re neighbors standing next to you won’t hate you and it keeps the muzzle right on target with almost zero muzzle movement. 6) all-in-all a great suppressor. Thanks Brass Facts for the extra info, especially the night vision related performance.

It's also so nice to shoot and have literally nothing coming back at you. All that said I prefer my direct thread YHM Turbo T2 at 12.7oz for the sound and weight, with no muzzle device I'm taking off 3.5 to 4.5 OZ vs a quick detach with muzzle device and man you can tell on the end of the gun. Where the FLOW556k falls short is for people who want a can for dedicated home defense or for CQB guns. the "Boomy' muzzle signature makes it a TBI machine in and around structures. better then no suppressor but the PewScience data supports this. I've used lots of suppressors and with cans like the CGS SCI SIX, SiCo Velos LBP, and the new CAT WB and ODB which are all doing better at striking a balance of maintaining good to amazing muzzle supression while mitigating blowback , and in the case of the CAT cans, obtaining backpressure reduction close to the FLOW series while still having RC2 levels of muzzle and flash suppression. there are just better options then Hux IN MY OPINION.

I recently ordered a couple of similar 3D printed flow-through cans (CAT WB and PTR Vent). My thinking is, yeah they are 2x the cost of a baffle stack but still less than what ammo costs over time - and by the time you’ve sufficiently tuned your rifle for use with a high back pressure can (which might include swapping the buffer, getting a vented charging handle, gas block, and high-dwell-time BCG) you could end up having paid just as much for a less reliable setup.

That said, I had it installed on a longer barreled SPR, and a bolt rifle for a while and the performance didn't really wow me, it changes the tone a lot, but to the shooter's ear it was still painful to shoot. By far the biggest issue I had was the "quick detach" system. It ended up being more like a quick loosen system.

Is that clr cleaning process applicable to standard cans as well? How often should you consider cleaning a traditional baffle stack can ?

American Suppressor Association gets you into Expert Voice, where you can get HUXWRX gear for significantly less than MSRP. Including muzzle devices. Otherwise you can probably wait for Black Friday sales if your Suppressor won't come with one. Since it takes 8 months for it to arrive anyhow.

would you ever consider doing a video going over how you set up your rifles?

My rifle can is a HX-QD Ti and it’s great. The upsides outweigh any knit-picky downsides IMO.

K cans and flow through are the way of the future for 5.56. Going forward you won't really see any major militaries using long, traditionally designed cans. That's why I bought a KAC MCQ.

Cerakote offers some IR reducing options… could the fix be as simple as a new coat of paint? (“Simple” not easy, as cerakoting can be very involved)

Love my Flow 556 and 762. The ping is not ideal and i don't have night vision so they're perfect. My Flow 556 on my H&R M16A1 is sooo nice and makes it very pleasant and very quiet behind the gun for 556

Any chances of taking a look at the Cobalt Kinetics Scrambler can? The thing weighs something like 6 oz total. Made of Ti and is supposed to be “low back pressure”. I’ve from some guys at Modern Warriors that the sound is also incredibly quiet for something that small.

im curious about fouling in the can. ive seen cross sections of these and the flow through ports are so small i would imagine they're prone to clogging. i would imagine a sonic cleaner would be a must have if you're using this style of suppressor. as a side note, it seems you haven't bought a sonic cleaner yet. get one. they're amazing. you don't have to waste ammo to clean them out. the sonic cleaner gets virtually all the carbon off in like 15 minutes.

I have one, it doesn't get suppressor baked carbon off.

“Low flow”, “flow through”, “low back pressure”, all of these designs will fade away as purpose built design and tuning of semi-auto rifles becomes the rule rather than the exception. Sacrificing suppressor performance for more efficient cycling does not make sense if you can have ideal cycling AND enhanced signature reduction in the same package.

Great video. I also got one and have been thoroughly enjoying it. I too have a sandman S and friggin hate using that big heavy bastard. The blast baffle is so badly eroded on the sandman that it’s sad. Been mainly shooting a polonium K and have a Sierra 5 pre and post op. Polonium k I think you’d thoroughly thoroughly enjoy for the money in place of your sandman. Anyway, just thought I’d “engage” lol thanks man

I'd love a similar Video done on the AB A10 warthog can. Supposedly duty rated, not flow through but lower back pressure with good flash suppression. Light weight, hub compatible for under $500 street price. Very interesting combo of features. I'd love to see a non shill review though before I commit.

That baffle wear is kind of wild for such a low round count. I'd say I'm looking forward to technologies merging and better competition on flow-through cans, but then again suppressors should be cheap, unregulated disposables if it weren't for regulations. It's almost silly to over-engineer one.

@gifthorse3675 I'm very jealous. I've had a lot of my fellow USPSA competitors that live in Hawaii move to the mainland. It's so bad right now you can't even purchase a pistol Ford rifle. Now you're only allowed to go to the range after scheduling online and it's for only 1 hour. What the hell are you supposed to do at the range for only one hour? They've shut down all of the clubs. So the silhouette Sporting Clays Bullseye and USPSA have all been shut down for the last three and a half years. Now the only time we get to shoot is when we get access to a private range. As far as I'm concerned Putin should move the EMP right over Hawaii
