It is true that 1.5million students enrolled into the course 1, but looking at the last course - Capstone project, only 200,000+ enrolled into it. So I don't think the tech industry is flooded with 1.5million new Google data analyst peeps. From the numbers, it seems like less than 20% of total students completed the course and get the certificate.

I just completed the course, and I honestly feel that the whole course was a foundations course. It gets you into the mindset of being an analyst, and what in general is done. But In my opinion more traning (case studies) and a little bit more studies in each aspect is needed to actually get you a job.

I started the Google data analytics course on 16th December, and it was definitely the perfect starting point and highly recommended. It's taken me longer than the 2 months it took you to complete (I'm on Analyze Data to Answer Questions at present), but that's because I've also taken several other courses alongside meaning that I've spent fewer hours p/week on analytics. I decided around 2nd February that it's actually Data Engineering I'd like to pursue, but having started the Google DA course was pivotal in helping me to form that decision. I'm hoping to have completed all my planned studies and portfolio projects by June then get job-hunting. Great video, thanks!

Very glad I’ve found your channel. I’m on course 6 and really enjoying it so far, done it pretty quickly too. I’m in my last year at uni so just wanting to pivot into data roles when I graduate. Hey, @ChiranPower ... I have landed a job, but more of a tech support role & have been working for 2 months now. The exciting part is due to the fact that I have this certificate, I showed I have some analytical skills and I am currently building a python project to show case my skills and move up the ranks towards the analyst position.

@@jean-pierremulder729 nice, I am currently taking a bootcamp where I will be able to obtain this certificate after completion and they told me they have high chance of students landing job after finishing the bootcamp as a entry level data analyst. that where you learn all the major skill in this job is in your entry level job. when you get hired as data analyst as a entry level the company will know you have no experience and just a basic skill.

Would you recommend this on top of a degree in economics with a heavy focus in analytics as well? It is only 50 dollars a month but I’m not sure if I should try to spend my time elsewhere. Also fuego video

Absolutely. Your degree will be very helpful, but this cert is great as well. It can help you ease into the practical field more, and it's very relevant for current tools and in-demand skills. If you already have a lot of experience in analytics, it's probably not for you. But as a beginner/intermediate, this cert together will projects will be incredibly helpful.

Amazing video I got the subscription and I'm starting this course. I was kind of lost in My search for a job that pays well and matches my degree, I have a masters in monetary and banking economics and I was thinking about going towards IT by learning web development, but becoming a data analyst makes more sense, i wonder if the degree can also help getting a job besides the google data analytics certificate?

Not that many actually! Prob around 10-15 hours per week. But honestly, there’s no real estimate I could give because it depends on the person, prior knowledge, and how thorough you are during the course. Good luck!

I have already finished all the courses and I can say one thing for sure. It's not worth it. Maybe if your base is completely zero, then it might be a decent start, but if you know the least about excel or sql for example, the course will be a waste of time for the most part. Not to mention if you already know things like python and r. Or more advanced things like web scraping. In summary, I can only recommend the course to someone who has no idea of ​​this world yet, otherwise you will lose many hours that could be better used.

I think it is a great course for absolute beginners, which it's tailored to. Absolute beginners don't know SQL, Python or R and often not even what a data analyst does.

Nothing could be further from the truth, especially considering that the course covers very little technical content, it emphasizes soft skills more than anything else. It is true that many things that are said in the course are useful, but there is no need for 186 hours for that, everything could have been summarized a lot and spent more time teaching really useful things

I use mine for editing and other stuff. Just get one that can handle your stuff. You don't really need a very expensive one for data analysis

Yes, definitely. Certs like this are great for beginners to ease into the field. However, keep in mind that you'll need to put in more work in crafting a portfolio and developing your skills, that doesn't stop after the certificate! Good luck and thank you for your comment

I think roadmaps are great, but the most important thing is just getting started. An online course can be great to guide you in the right direction, and projects will be helpful because you will learn a lot, and also be forced to learn new things while doing them. Sometimes that can be easier rather than trying to learn it all separately.

hey sir, I just started this course through bootcamp called Merit America, I went with their 0 down with payment after getting a job that pays 40kplus a year so I was like why not. They do promise me a chance for me to land a job after 2 month completing the Merit program so .....What you think? what are my chance of landing a job in this flood of people into the IT fields.
