How good is the camera? Is it on par with modern smartphone front facing cameras? Also, how well does this phone integrate with calling apps like Google Duo or Skype? For example, if you start a Duo call and pick up the handset does it route the audio to Duo or does it open its own dialer app instead? Someone mentioned that as a problem with the older 3275.

The camera is just fine for desktop video calling. Smartphone manufacturers (Apple, Samsung) are putting a lot of investment in the camera quality as a differentiator because consumers like that for shooting high def pics and video. Those requirements don't exist in this market as much which is why the quality between a desk phone camera and iPhone will be very different. Regarding the app opening automatically, that's a setting you can change within the OS which will dictate what app opens when you pickup the handset. We've done it with our own app and it works just fine. This would probably solve for the situation regarding a specific app you mentioned.

Question: Residential uses, can I just buy this for funsies and use this with apps like Facebook messenger and what’s-app and Skype and other communication apps, and use the corded handset for those Facebook messenger calls?

Yes you could do that. However, don't set high expectations on the experience. The Android build being used is rather low and the hardware specs within the device don't beat a basic Kindle or Android tablet.

We haven't tested Whats app on the device but it could work. Only concern would be the older version of Android that some apps won't support any longer.

Can you use apps like Calls Blacklist or Mr. Number to prevent scam numbers from getting through? Is there a way to "screen" calls so you can hear the person leaving a message and pick up if it someone you want to talk to?

You can download apps from the Google Play store. It all depends on what build of Android the app requires and whether or not the phone has that build or better.

@@AccentVoice The point is if the phone interacts with Android like any other mobile phone. I assume not as I assume you cannot replace the phone app to change the display of incoming calls etc, so I was wondering if other apps like call blocking apps work. I assume by your reply means you have not tested with these types of apps. Thanks.

@@brillest Correct, we have not tested every app. However, you can replace the default phone app with a downloaded app via the admin interface. So it is theoretically possible.

We have installed hundreds of the early 3275s over the years with a less than 1% failure rate, so we are pretty sure this one is all of that and more. Our main disappointment with the early 3275 and 3370 was that you couldn't keep the audio/mic at the phone and then use the HDMI to copy the phone's display out to a monitor. Was told that was an Android thing. That would make any of these a much more attractive proposition for small huddle conference rooms.

The 3380 is a big upgrade from the 3275 in quality and performance. You'll be happy with the latest model.

You can download apps from the Google Play store. I believe we have tested Google Meet and it does work. Just keep in mind this isn't a PC so there may be a quirk here and there while using.
