You hit the nail on the head, what I find strange is it seems, for the most part, our Generation is the only ones that see it. No we didn't start the nation down this path. However, I hope we can help turn the tiller into the correct direction. When politicians started seeing politics as a career instead of a duty that's when changes should have been made.
@GenXThinksАй бұрын
Yes, absolutely. It's a civic duty, not a career path. Plus they refuse to retire, and just stay until they die. This is not what our forefathers had in mind.

We as Americans have revolted for way less than what is happening today. It did start over 100 years ago, people got complacent and accountability went out the window. Power will change people... the elected became a social class of their own, they stretched an inch into a mile. It always starts with something simple and small, a penny tax, a law to "protect" you... those small changes that people have allowed over the past 100 years has desensitized and brainwashed people into thinking that every new tax and law that is passed today is for our benefit. No one will speak out or take up arms today out of fear of losing all that they have... we will have to hit complete bottom and mayhem before we realize that it may be too late.

Yeah, It's very obvious what the score is. Term limits of two three year terms is more than enough. If I could implement only one thing, it would be that. I am sure that that alone would fix a lot of other problems. Most people agree with this..R&D alike. I understand your questioning on the "failed experiment", but I wouldn't say that just yet IMO. The way I see it, we are still in the damage assessment phase. My personal concerns are with the judicial, and educational systems. That's where most of the significant damage comes from. We gotta get those back or we are pretty much finished from what I can see. It took a ton of decades to get to this point, it will take time to get it back. I don't believe we will live to see it repaired, but we can try from a local level to make some changes. The first order of business to me is take the courts back, so changes can be made on the rest. Not an easy job. We will not have to guess so much in a few months, hang tight🖒

It seems like the same type of personalities gravitate to do certain things. Simple question I’ve thought of often is what kind of people take surveys? Who are these people and what are their lives like, because many times I don’t agree with them and don’t like it when I hear a newscaster or someone say, survey says most Americans ect. Uh no…. I think about the types that get into management or gov and wonder if part of the reason things are the way they are is because the same types are always in the position to make the rules (not necessarily look the same, but of the same mind type). How to fix this when people who normal jobs just don’t want to be messed with because too friggin tired or don’t know where, how or what would really make it better.

Hey Jesse, I'm probably one of the few Australians who've read and taken an interest in your Constitution in its original and present concept. I gotta ask the question, do the people believe the present political and social climate in America today is anything close to what the Founding Fathers meant when they signed the Constitution?! There's an Edmund Burke quote about the triumph of evil and good men doing nothing, you know the one. I don't think the experiment failed, through the perversion of the law and the corruption of the political arena, it was sabotaged. We know the law is no longer justice, its a game of manipulation where $$$ rule in totality. Somehow we've allowed people who you wouldn't trust to hold your beer to access and shape the rules that control your life. I don't think Thomas Jefferson would approve of 675 000 immigrants (legally) per year when natural Americans are struggling to find a job, shelter, food. Freedom, compare the freedoms enjoyed by Boomers in the '60s to right now. Our freedom has been sold and we didn't get a cut. Mate, what's happening is unconstitutional and therefore illegal. The law has been sufficiently corrupted to protect the guilty and dissuade people from questioning what's happening. Unless Common-sense prevails ( yeah I know) then an answer may not come without revolution. Change from adversity requires the adversarial. We're a long way from Honest Abe, but someone like him is sorely needed. Cheers Brother.
@ozarkrefugeeАй бұрын
Abe was not the hero the scholars have made him out to be. He did contribute to the slaves being freed but he also had our gov't purchase Liberia in Africa, it was his full intent to send all the freed slaves back to Africa. He was doing the dirty work of the mega rich industry leaders in the NYC area. Abe got assassinated so the plans did not get carried through. For a long time after the Civil War ended, blacks were never truly free, there were too many bs things put into place to keep them down.
@GenXThinksАй бұрын
No, everyone realizes that this is not what our founding fathers meant. Some just think that they were wrong and would trade their freedom for other things. They have almost half of the population convinced that freedom is bad. The government is so bloated and corrupt that it would take a good President decades to clean it up. A revolution would be the answer, but if one person stands up, they stand alone and just end up being jailed. It has to get so bad that everyone is forced to stand up together. There is strength in numbers, but we are weak by ourselves.
@ozarkrefugeeАй бұрын
Our country was pretty good until Andrew Jackson divided the politics into a two party system, he was a manipulative arrogant drunk like Grant was. Lincoln and Grant were not the heroes our grade school history books made them out to be, they were domestic terrorists doing the dirty work of oppressive mega- rich industry leaders in the NYC area. Strange how our founding fathers left mother England to not be taxed to death among other issues. Since the 90's, we have become one of the most overtaxed and overworked nations. I remember in the mid 90's my phone bill was $40 a month, then one month my phone bill was $79. I looked over my bill, instead of it being one page like before, it was now several pages of all these new charges and taxes. Then the month that the plandemc started, my rent went up $100 and my utility bill doubled, everyone else I talked to said the same thing. Twelve years ago a new Ford/Chevy/Dodge 1/2 ton 4x4 truck was only $24K, now it is no less than $45k. IRS, CIA, FBI, the UN and other crooked secret societies have contributed to our slow dripping downfall with all the lies and manipulation of other countries, and getting us into secret wars to protect some rich *ssholes investment in a third world country not hardly anybody knows exists. Hollywood, tv, sports, pop culture has kept us distracted since the advent of television. A couple of weeks ago I was at a gun show working. Everybody that stopped at my booth, I asked them what they thought would be the outcome of the election. Everybody gave the same answers (most were pro Trump, some were leery of any politician,) at some point in the conversation everybody said "can't people just get along anymore(?)" Everybody also said that they were sick of gov't and corporate greed/control on every level.
@GenXThinksАй бұрын
There does seem to be an awakening. Only time will tell whether it's too little too late.
@E33TproАй бұрын
I don't know if I'd call it a failure but rather failing, and it's complicated to fix atm. When it comes to taxes and wars I might look at it a bit differently, if you want good working infrastructure and a defense force and to have everybody help finance that you need a tax system based on income, the biggest problem with it right now from what I can see is that it's way too complicated and rich people and corporations can more or less nullify their taxes which is fucked up, there should be one tax set at some percentage that everybody above a set low income level has to pay to finance the basic necessities of a society, outside of that there shouldn't be any taxes. When it comes to wars my opinion is that it's better to fight them somewhere else than on your own streets and as long as there are imperialistic governments and religions roaming the earth that will be the case because if we don't show strength and help keep them back sooner or later the wars will be on our streets, it's inevitable. Might not be a popular opinion but it's true, the thing is though that the military needs to be transparent about that with the people who are thinking about joining up, and as far as I'm aware they're not, the governments aren't either and they need to fucking be if they're going to ask people to risk their lives in conflicts and wars that aren't direct threats but indirect threats, soldiers in particular deserve to know why they are fighting and 'they have their orders' isn't a sufficient enough explanation I would say. No idea if this made sense to anybody but myself but there it is.
