Bought a first gen GTX 970 OC for $90.00 before the "crisis". That card was mined to crap as yhe miners loves these older 970s. Left it running in "my hanger" on FS2020 and came back to what I can only describe as a shattered lcd display. Well it was artifacts all over the screen. Card was fried. Immediately bought this 970, Dragon Army edition for 120.00 . Did a core upgrade from FX8350 @ 5ghz system to a Ryzen 5 config. This is the best card right now for under 200.00. Trust me on this, replace your thermal compound with Kryonaut and you will immediately have a gtx1660. Im getting 74fps on Forza Horizon 4 in 1080p and High settings with cars set to Ultra . Yes I am overclocking as high as +240 cpu clock and +350 memory clock via MSI Afterburner. FS 2020 on High, up to 55 fps. Im goiden here, seriously, plus I spent my new GPU money on my Ryzen 5 3600, mobo and RAM. Perfect combo. Thanks for this video, honestly the best kept GPU secret out there. Lots of untapped potential on this bad boy. Its amzeballs and so glad I stumbled upon an honest seller for it. Dont touch the older ones, at all! Miners' old crap!

I upgraded from this card to an RTX2080 about two years ago. It's still a pretty good 1080p card, but the difference between it and the 2080 is really huge. BTW, it never had a backplate.

Yea the difference between an rtx 2080 and a gtx 970 is night and day. But so is the price difference. Both still great for their respective prices. I wish the 970 had a backplate, would have looked much cleaner :)

I have i7 4gen with 970. I get 60-50 in gta with ultra, for honor on extreme, apex maxed, Minecraft stylized texture pack with sues pgti12 shaders. I get lowest FPS in Minecraft, constant 40-30fps. Lowest 28.

Idk what settings you using but i have in GTA 5 ultra 90fps avg. i5 2500k at 4.5ghz, 970, 16gb ram.

Here is a ez trick for you all since this has analog display support and you have an old crtv monitor like i hv 22inch sony monitor supports upto 160hz istg i play every latest game on ultra max preset with 60+fps including rdr 2 and its way better than your latest 2k 4k 120hz lcds and leds monitor It has 0.0ms 0 input lag I play all games on 1024x768 resolution and i swear to god rdr2 for me on crtv is heaven for me it looks way better than my samsung 4k tv with ps4pro On 1920x1080 my rdr 2 ultra preset vram crossed 5gb vram and when i switched the reso to 1024x768 on sem preset it only takes 4000mb of vram which allows me to play on ultra max preset except water refraction and physics cuz its heavy and drops to 30 fps 1024x768 is freaking better than my 4k on tv damn it has pure soft edges than my 4k samsung i got like 20 to 30fps boost and gane looks insanely clear hd even on 1024x768 with txaa set to medium not even high because its not needed geniunely cuz your crtv is still way ahead than latest 4k monitors

I never knew that old crtv is the biggest gem that i ever had because the first game i played was rainbow six siege on 1024x768 max setting multiplayer with avg of 165fps and minimum 120 with freaking 165hz with 0 response time 0 imput lag along with crystal clear soft freaking edges its like a natural 16x multisampling AA the monitor has and some of my friends tried on my monitor they were absolutely shocked because of the quality and the resonse time one of them said im selling my alien ware 240hz lmaoo because he said the display size and this resolution with quality really fits my gameplay competively

Last nvidia gpu which supports analog display is gtx 980ti and gtx titan If you have an crtv old monitor with least 100hz refresh rate i guess you are the luckiest gamer to have this
