I have the 2020 Hybrid. The one thing Toyota has over the Honda is they have been building hybrid for years I have had two Prius’s and now I am have a 2020 Rav 4 hybrid gas mileage has been averaging 40 or better all of the hybrid I owned have been bulletproof. The last Prius I had 180000 miles 1 wheel baring and one set of brakes and rotors. Good review.

Honda has been selling hybrids in North America longer than Toyota has. True, they have used at least three different concepts, and the first didn't perform as well in most versions. But this one has been used since 2014 (Accord PHEV) with no systemic issues, and (imo) is superior in almost every way to Toyota's. For a direct comparison, the Insight has a smaller version of the iMMD system used in the CR-V. It gets the same EPA 52 mpgs as the Prius, and more (54 to 52 mpg) in Consumer Reports tests. It has much larger passenger space (98 to 91 ft^3) and, also from Consumer Reports, carries more luggage. Both can carry four suitcases, but the Insight carries three large and one small, while the Prius only manages 2+2. (The Prius's vaunted cargo space is vaulted; that is, only meaningful if you need vertical space.) And the Insight does this while getting to 60 mpg over 1.5 seconds faster (8.7 to 10.3), and 45 to 65 mph over a second faster (5.3 to 6.5).

Great Review, the only down side is that the 2022 model is nothing more than a carry-over from 2021. So, why not just get the 2021 model save some $ or simply wait for the 2023 model & hopefully Honda has made some significant upgrades(like a panoramic sunroof, power folding side mirrors, updated infotainment)🤷♂️

The Toyota has a pretty decent driving feel to it. It is also louder, IMO engine wise. I like to hear it, but I can appreciate less road noise from the CR-V. Some trims of the RAV have a super cool digital rear view camera, that I personally fell in love with. The most important difference is that the Yota is currently suffering from the gas tank issue, which, as much as I like it, was an automatic dis-qualifier for me. They don't have a solid fix and no ETA. For that much money? No way.
@NeoTechGuy224 жыл бұрын
No dig to the other reviewers, but your review was the one I like the most with the comparisons of the CR-V Hybrid, RAV4 hybrid and the Gas only CR-V. Honestly I couldn’t tell which one had more noise between the two hybrids.

I don't get, what's so awkward with that paddels. Every automatic transmission features the same logic, plus for less engine braking, minus for more engine braking.
@forrestsautoreviewsofficial4 жыл бұрын
F Webe I guess the difference is that you aren’t using the paddles in a full gas car to engine brake. You use them to up shift and down shift so the logic of having the plus paddle for “up shifting” and a minus paddle for “down shifting” makes more sense than using them to engine brake.

Real world MPG will be 34. Rav 4 real world mpg is 38. Rav4 for me. they have so much more experience with hybrids.
@forrestsautoreviewsofficial4 жыл бұрын
Technically Honda made their first hybrid in 1999 with the Insight. Toyota made theirs in 1997 with the Prius. 2 years difference isn't enough for Toyota to be that far ahead in terms of experience. Both are pretty solid but the Honda's system did feel more fluid in its delivery. Thanks for watching!
@mobgma4 жыл бұрын
@@forrestsautoreviewsofficial fair enough but try measuring using the total number of hybrid vehicles sold since inception. toyota destroys honda. its not even close. Well over 12 million as of 2019.
@forrestsautoreviewsofficial4 жыл бұрын
@@mobgma I do agree that they have more experience building vehicles but making the same model over & over & over hardly counts as experience when it comes to hybrid technology. I do believe that the Toyota is a hair more reliable but Honda has had just as good a track history. It was actually better than Toyota whenever they had their V-Tech engines. Now that those are gone I'd say Toyota is back in the lead. I do understand your argument though! I honestly think they are both excellent choices!
@mobgma4 жыл бұрын
@@forrestsautoreviewsofficial Actually when you sell countless more vehicles it does equate to more experience. More money is used to hire staff/engineers and more money is pumped into the R&D of hybrid because of the sales numbers. The rav4 was designed from the ground up as a hybrid. This CRV is just the old CRV that they slapped batteries in resulting in no spare tire and less cargo space in the back. Rav4 has a full size spare tire. crv does not. Optional 360 cameras. Cooled seats. Pano roof option. Rav4 = faster 0-60. Rav4 hybrid can tow 3500 lbs, CRV cannot. Rav4 = winner. That is why the Rav4 is pricier because it has items the CRV does not. I will give it to the CRV for 1 thing though, they at least have passenger side power seats and the rav4 does not. The Rav4 is is by far and away the better hybrid overall. However the Rav4 hybrid has one problem lingering right now on the current hybrids and that is on some units, you cannot fill the gas tank up all the way.
@SalemK-ty4ti4 жыл бұрын
@xfistsclenchedx The Honda CRV-Hybrid is not designed for towing, doing so will void the warranty.

All in all you sound like a crv hybrid fan boy
@forrestsautoreviewsofficial4 жыл бұрын
Praise doesn’t equal being a fanboy. If I had Honda posters in my room or a tattoo on my chest, then I’d be a fanboy. I just recognize quality when I see it. Especially when compared right next to a RAV4 Hybrid. I stick by my words that the CR-V hybrid is better quality in every way. Once the RAV4 Prime comes out, that car will be a different league but it’s not on sale yet doesn’t compete directly with this car since it requires a plug and this doesn’t. Thanks for watching though! 👊
