All I can say is if I owned a company I would never want it to be in Korea. If you have no protection against slander, liabel, gossip or harassment- then why would I ever set up a business there. I know some people believe that HYBE AMERICA is a potential new home for BTS and (while I hope not because they love their country) it is an opportunity to not have to deal with this BS anymore. The big 3 can go back to being the big 3, Korea can loose billions of dollars in revenue, kpop can go back to being a niche market, and unfortunately KArmy will have to wait with anticipation for when BTS will tour or travel like others to see them. The Korean media, politicians and entertainment sectors are cutting off their noses to spite their faces and they are so blinded by envy and corruption that it doesn't even matter to them the damage they are doing to their country and economy.

It is not about the seven guys moving to live in the US, but about Bighit becoming an American label and releasing their Korean albums in the US, doing promotion in the US. This would take a lot of pressure off everyone working in Bighit, because the albums wouldn't be in competition with other Korean artists. As foreign albums, they would not enter any Korean competitions and they wouldn't be in competition with Korean artists, just like any American artists. They would become American Korean-speaking artists. And of course, they would still live in Korea, which is their home, but they would start their tours in America to fix only the last date in Korea. To make it easier for the Korean army they can do more concerts in Japan and Southeast Asia. Today, we live in a global village.

So far during all of MHJ's media play session, most of the international greater kpop community was still rational about the whole issue. But now I'm seeing comments and contents released by international kpop channels also being biased and they are spreading the documents as if they are hybe executives opinion and not netizen comments collected from internet. Most of the comments by these stans are like "oh hybe obsessed with sm" "hybe obsessed with our faves that's why they are criticizing our fave's heights" "oh i feel so bad to think that some of my fav's besties are hybe idols. How must they feel to know their company thinks like this about their friends". All in all I'm so tired of these biased takes that has seemingly successfully stepped their feet into MHJ's mediaplay tactics. I can't even argue with logic with these people because they immediately label you as a "hybe stan". They are even going around saying "oh belift ceo admitted it's hybe opinion. Look he even apologized about it in the audit. Haha he got caught." I'm so tired of it now. Like do they logically think a conglomerate like hybe has time to sit and type 2000 pages worth of malicious comments about different idols and evaluate their looks? Fans of the groups mentioned are upset at HYBE, but they should really be upset at how nasty fans can be when talking about each other's favorite idols. Reddit’s kpop forums are boiling over with posts about how awful this is, how awful HYBE is, how angry SK general public is, how unprofessional it was to include comments from DC Inside (apparently a known incel community?), how unprofessional the report is and can’t possibly be an industry standard, how dare anyone suggest that the company of THEIR favorites does the same because it’s only HYBE that got caught, etc etc. I’ve given up trying to make sense of it. What they also don’t seem to understand is that these other companies are probably watching with bated breath because everything that is happening is establishing precedent for how all the companies will be able to operate.

Personally I hope HYBE continues to do what they have been doing and handle things quietly through the courts. Its not the most exciting option but it's the most reasonable one. As fans what we can do is not engage with the negativity and just focus on the artists and their work. Most of the groups have comebacks and schedules planned so we have plenty to keep us busy.

I think it's because MHJ is making the whole thing more of a circus and looking like she has the media in the palm of her hand, fans are frustrated and impatient for HYBE to strike back the minute she or her minions make any noise. But from what I've observed, HYBE conducts their legal maneuvering silently. They never show their hand, and only drop an update on proceedings every blue moon. I get frustrated too, because I'm a Moa and I enjoy other HYBE groups like BTS, LSF, and ILLIT, and while BTS and Army can take care of themselves (they're battle-hardened and have the best researchers and online detectives, in my opinion) LSF and ILLIT have been struggling with hate trains this entire year. At least a majority of Fearnots and GLLITs have banded together in support, and unfortunately shared trauma.

this feels like a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" kind of situation. no matter what action hybe takes, there will be criticism and hate. there's also the fact that belift's ceo was made to promise that hybe won't take action against the party that leaked it, so i don't know if threatening legal action after that would have consequences. and making a statement DOES bring more attention to it. all these approaches have their own benefits and drawbacks. i heard that this didn't really make much news on the korean side (i don't know if that's true) but even if it's making waves on the international side, things like this blow over pretty quickly. so maybe silence could be a reasonable approach, but that's dependent on if it actually dies down. to be honest, nothing that's happening right now seems as bad as when the yoongi scooter incident happened back in august (to me, personally). that was several weeks of nonstop hate and slander, and now it's barely talked about. if we can get past that, i think we can get past anything else.

As someone who has worked in rnd, we also take competitor products, analyze how they are received by consumers, whether the visuals are good, the product quality is good, the benefits, the consumer satisfaction, the product reach to consumers, how they do promotions, impressive service/experience with/using the product, this can be an evaluation to improve performance and predict/resolve if problems arise, this can also be applied in Kpop, because Kpop changes rapidly .... Reminds me of the reaction to the Sewol desaster while it was happening with "similar" results. Hybe slowly needs to do something publicly because as much as I want to praise them doing their thing in the background by the books, all artists under Hybe are suffering more and more from what's going on recently. No matter if there's verified proof or if it's possibly even real, this thing is spreading like wildfire everywhere on social media. Certain idols even are receiving targetted hate again (e. g. Wonhee because some people are saying Hybe was planning to make her a second Wonyoung). I'm no expert. But something has to be done publicly and fast.

Beware. This accusation is part of traditional Korean anti-label rhetoric. They want a villain because the K-pop universe for them is a big role-playing game, a drama, a fanfiction. The document discussed at the National Assembly to my knowledge was a leaked document with a lot of redactions. The comments were from many different fandoms and comments about various companies’ artists not just HYBE artists. It was a report gathered for marketing purposes and does not reflect HYBE policy etc. as stated by Belift CEO at the National Assembly. Not sure how the journalist was allowed to publish a private company document? Did a politician at the National Assembly leak the document or did someone inside HYBE? I think the different fandoms should trust their artists and pay no heed to all the rumour mongering going on at the moment. Unless the artist comes out and makes a public statement then the fans should just trust their favoured artists. Otherwise by creating noise and fuss over unsubstantiated rumours is just playing into MHJ playbook.

The MPs certainly do not have access to private corporate documents. The document was stolen probably months ago, edited to leave only what made Hybe look bad, and given to the MP who read it during the audit. They are a real joke Country. They agreed that the journalist would publish it the day before, but obviously the MP did not prepare in a day. The journalist has the right not to reveal who got him the document, it is part of the whistleblower protection. The fact is that there was no "real" misconduct reported here, this is a complete set-up.

I do believe HYBE does user research. They collate both positive and negative conversations to drive better user experiences. Hence why most of their artists do well overall. I very much think they do their best to address user painpoints, it's a shame that people misunderstood it for Hybe's stance, when really they probably quoted it to an example of a pain point.

We are in this situation because MHJ refused to cooperate with an audit. She still refuses. As a result, she was fired as CEO and lost all her stock options. At this point she should just focus NJ's next comeback. Hopefully this one will be more successful than the last one and they'll make more money for HYBE and their shareholders (who include BTS).

If this is a non-verified document let’s not say that is a “leaked Hybe document”if we’re not sure if the report is authentic or verified,that’s a little sensationalized. I personally see a bigger picture about all that is happening. I believe all of this is about the contract between Newjeans and Ms. Thang to be able to get out of their contract without paying a penalty. If her attorneys can prove that new jeans has been mistreated, the courts will have to release them from the contract without a penalty. At this point it doesn’t have to be true because she has every one in a up roar. So many fires to put out. Government officials, Chinese slander, don’t forget those bunnies and more. If Hybe attorneys are on top the bs. They can at least clear their name but I doubt if they can clear all the BS. Social sick media spreads the made up mess, so many sheep! I personally would like to see a transparent approach - I, myself, peek in on different fandom spaces to get an idea of what is being discussed in order to decide if it’s specific to the fandom I am looking at or if it appears to be apart of the “culture” of online communities/spaces. Because if it’s the latter, I won’t take what I see too personally, everyone is just echoing each other’s thoughts because that’s what they think should be happening in that space. If I notice differences, I’ll know exactly what my particular fandom would need to work on. If the report was compiled to do a similar analysis, they can say that. They won’t reveal too much by saying exactly what the report is for, but not sharing how it’s used in detail because people do steal a plan that appears to work well lol

I work in marketing and reports like this are pretty standard parts of competitor analysis with sentiment reporting and is one piece of market research. Sentiment reports usually include crawling the web for certain keywords/phrases and then compiling them into positive, neutral and negative sentiment. For nearly all my clients who can afford this type of research, we usually look at the negative sentiment of their own brand down to the review/comment level and do the same for competitors to compare them. I currently work in tourism, so if people are saying a competitor destination is better for x,y,z than my destination or if they are saying "i hate x about competitor destination" then these are both things that inform strategy. Is there a knowledge barrier or lack of awareness around my destinations x,y,z? Can we position our destination as being a destination known for not having x? I had plenty of DISGUSTING things said about our destinations or previously working in ecommerce/hospitality about our products/services. But I think there is a more visceral reaction to seeing the comments compiled into one space because Hybe's product are humans but that's the nature of this industry. And most of the people clutching their pearls at the idea of doing this type of analysis on people are the same people who don't focus on the music and are writing the hate comments being crawled. I often think them being in the report is really what upsets them.

I think one of the main reasons why the reaction to HYBE having comments compiled in this way is because these people realized that their comments can and likely have been seen. And now they’re fearful about which comments will land them in legal situations for what they thought was just fun and games. I think it could be both. Just the fact that the full report was released gives me pause. Only the negative side was posted/sent around… that gives me pause. I think hybe knows what they’re doing but I agree if they’re too transparent then they could give too much away. I do sorta hope they release a very long, detailed statement explaining some things but then again, could give away too much. Kpop stans, and some army, believe everything online with zero context, credibility, or proof. At the core, army are still army but way too many who have joined us are lying about being army cuz it just makes no sense.. probably solos tbh. I don’t think HYBE is completely innocent in never having any wrong doings but this is just too far. SM was literally revealed to have hired media companies to discredit HYBE and their artists and yet it didn’t have nearly as much noise as now. Of course a company should compile fans/public opinions to see what trends are happening, this is market research. I believe this is still MHJ, SM and Kakao tactics to continue tearing down HYBE. I want to say something about MHJ's hiring in Hybe in 2019. In 2018, the contracts of our seven BTS stars were renewed for the period 2020-27 (renewals are done well in advance). We know that almost all of them wanted to start a solo career and the chances of the group breaking up were quite high. So probably SM Ent. was hoping for it. Instead, in the end, the group did not break up and this gave BSH the opportunity to list Bighit on the stock exchange and subsequently found Hybe. I think that at that point SM Ent. devised a plan of destruction from within the fearsome competitor. It was clear that nothing would stop the rise of BTS and BSH (in fact, Hybe is now a conglomerate). I must say that the Trojan Horse was carefully chosen for her skills of pretense, acting, falsehood and manipulation which unfortunately screwed BSH. Now, in 2024, SM Ent. and Kakao are investing heavily in this work of destruction; they have been waiting for five years, they will not back down from anything. I just hope they do not turn to violent crime, like Puff Diddy did to wipe out the competition. There are billions at stake.

i think the report is real but heres the deal, all companies do this not just the entertainment companies. people are taking the intention out of context. many companies have teams just to look at whats being said about them and their competitors online. this is normal business practice. i feel this is being blown out of proportion. you cant believe something when its clearly been tampered with to make one side look bad. if youre going to make such a report public you better make the entire thing public just not bits and pieces. the most appalling thing about the report is the people who posted those horrible comments. the ones posting horrible comments should be ashamed of themselves. i think the commenters didnt like that their horrible words may have been saved by some company ( could lead to potential lawsuits) and thats why they are being the loudest in blaming hybe. they just want to pass on their guilt to someone else. im absolutely sure the ones being loudest about the report are the ones who say a lot of nasty stuff about idols. i think the intention was to toy with raw emotions of fandoms. till now, for most part hybe fandoms have more or less been on hybe side expect for a few fandoms. she wants fandoms to lose faith in hybe. if the fandoms get weak this will also result in shareholders losing faith in hybe. shareholders will not see growth potential, isnt that what meanheejin wants? her ultimate goal is to make shareholders lose faith in hybe. meanheejin really thinks that all fandoms are as braindead as bunnies. i cant speak for other fandoms but she really didnt acct for army's intelligence and support for bts. most armys understand the purpose of such a report so that section of armys think logically. at this point, i feel no matter what hybe says no one will believe them so its better for them to be silent. if theres a strong legal case then pursue it legally. best scenario would be for the artists to show support for hybe directly or indirectly. like seokjin in his last 2 welives wore a bighit cap. his message was loud and clear. if those brats can do a whole live for meanheejin then why cant other artists make their stance clear? i get why they are quiet but it would send a positive msg. or maybe hybe can invite game caterers again and get all the groups to participate again except new jeans of course (i wanted this to happen after bts came back but desperate times, desperate measures) i just need them to send a message that they are a big and strong team. i wish there are more inter-hybe collabs, excluding newjeans, not just music but other content as well. like how hobi collabed with yunjin, like how yeonjun showed up in an episode of run jin, yeonjun collabing with enhypen and katseye, like baekho and one of the girls from fromis 9 collabed. substantial collabs not just dance challenges. something that lets everyone see that their is healthy competition between the artists but also camaraderie. anyways, ive come to a point where i dont believe anything that comes from kmedia, k-govt, kpop stans or anyone related to meanheejin.

Even if it's real I'm sure it's edited....if you read hybe's statement that they released about that initial screenshot, they said there are both positive and neglect comments collected to monitor trends and competition, but whoever leaked it edited it and only compiled the worse comments without context and made it seem as if those were Hybe's opiniona

I personally think hybe should deny it and take legal action. The best approach to shutting this down instead of letting it run wild, silence is good but it also lets everyone come up with their own narrative and raises suspicion on their artists and the company.

Realmente, algo no cuadra desde el principio. Es de suponer que Suga tendría material para lanzar mientras esta en el servicio y lo han machacado. Sale Jin y cuando empieza a lanzar su musica salen las supuestas 2000 hojas, si JHope tiene algo para lanzar puede que esa señora también intente sabotear esos trabajos. Lo más demente hasta este momento es la participación de la Asamblea Nacional en esta turbia narrativa de MHJ. Es increíble que esos señores se presten a poner sobre la mesa un documento y sin ser transparentes: de dónde sacaron ese documento, quién es la fuente, por qué lo muestran parcialmente... qué todo esto no es ilegal? Pero Suga lo dijo: cuánto más brillen, más extensa la sombra. Y bts es un astro que encandila. Without knowing what this so called report is about how on earth can any fan group decide that Hybe has somehow offended Army, Moas etc. I am fed up of all this subterfuge and issues in the news.
