Battlestar and The Expanse are my favourite two sci-fi series. The writing, the acting, the effects, and so on simply put those two shows above all others. Even 20 years later, Battlestar is one of the greats by all measures.

Katee, I love that all the BSG guys get on so well, even after all this time. I mean it was kind of a risky project, updating a campish 70's sci-fi, taking the concept seriously but also adding in fun and some real menace with the humanoid cylons infiltrating the humans. Loved it, and actually became hooked with your portrayal of Starbuck, I think at a card table. Thanks to all of you.

I think BSG was the ultimate sci-fi series that was much more than just that. Also, in BSG, the artistry of the actors was phenomenal. I think I’ve watched it at least five times. It created an atmosphere you loved to breathe in, even though it often took your breath away and gave you powerful emotions. It’s fascinating that you could relive those same emotions with every rewatch.

Awesome to see you guys talking about BSG together; glad to see that it had such an impact on you as it did the fans of the show. One of the reactions I have though is how many cringe moments there were of this awkward off/on romance between your two characters. I think part of the show's success is when the cast and crew are such a "family" that it really comes through on the show. With that amazing finale, everyone is wondering how it's going to end, then it's done. History. And the BSG reboot was a smashing success remembered and rewatched for life.

Glad to hear Jamie found Lee Adama a difficult character to play because early in BSG I felt he was an under utilized character without a good direction. He became one of the most interesting characters by the end of the show. Gaius Baltar still is #1 though. It's funny that Jamie was, "upset" with EJO saying that BSG would be the zenith of theirs careers... but Eddie was right. Not because anyone isn't worthy but BSG was lightning in a bottle.

Really enjoyed the show! I remember Jamie from his Horatio Hornblower days with Ioan Gruffud. Loved his performances. A couple of thoughts . . . 1. Richard Hatch and Dirk Benedict were in their early 30s in 1978 - not their 40s. 2. When Battlestar came on tv, sci-fi had not been on prime time tv for well over a decade - since the 1960s when the space race to the moon was very much in everyone's consciousness: Lost in Space, the OG Star Trek series. The '78 Battlestar, on the other hand, was a direct response/out growth of the success of the first Star Wars film. It, and the expanding Star Trek franchise were on the frontier of a resurgence of popular sci-fi that we still benefit from today. I realize how kitchy it looks, and hokey it reads now, but in the day it was unlike anything anyone had seen on the small screen. I remember eagerly anticipating each episode and my disappointment when it did not get a second season. I think that is part of why the OG BSG is beloved among many fans. Fan's negative pre-judgement (which seems to have only gotten worse) baffles me. All those early sci-fi from the mid-60s and late 70s toddled so that series like Firefly, BSG and so many more could walk and even fly.

oh wow, I just found out that you have a podcast and on top of that you had Jamie on just yesterday, I love it! I started rewatching Battlestar two weeks ago and it is as great as the first time watching ( and the second, and the third ;) ). This is just my favorite show, because it really has a magic to it, merged in by everyone who participated in it. like the music, one of the best soundtracks ever made, I still listen to it and it gets me every time ( looking forward watching your interview with Bear McCreary next :) ). Like you both said, you can feel the dedication everyone put into this, when you watch the show. And when I went to a convention in Bonn/Germany ( in 2018...?), where many cast members where there, I saw and felt that you are family and although I just wanted to go home with a picture of me and "Starbuck", I ended up with pictures of James Callis and Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonnell also ;). I wish both of you another great experience like Battlestar, but different. I think Battlestar is just very special and very dear to my heart ❤.
