It’s a strange one, I’d be happy if he signed a new contract but I’d be happy with a sale. I don’t think we’ll get any offers near £10m as he’s got 12 months left in his contract, and I think the club will accept much less than that figure. I’d offer a 2 Year contract extension with possibly a buyout clause that protects the club. Good player and will get better, but if the money coming in improves the overall squad then I’m all for selling
@BCFCRoyalBlue7 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment Freddie. That is exactly how myself and Matt feel about whether we keep him or not and from conversations with other Blues fans that seems to be the general consensus. The club could offer him an extended contract and if he hung around and did well then his value will only go up. Now that he is a full international I’m not sure if he will want to play in League One but we will have to wait and see. KRO

Thanks for commenting :) We have produced some absolute cracking talent over the years. One of which is surely in-line for the Ballon d'Or this year. I know he's young but I don't think he's particularly an intelligent player, his awareness of players around him , his passing and movement are poor.I honestly don't think we will miss him.We have a fantastic young kid who's just been offered a 3 year deal but not signed yet, top clubs after him he's out of contract. The name is Menzi Mazwi.
@BCFCRoyalBlue7 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment Alan. I came to the same conclusion when I thought about it and that was that I wouldn’t be overly disappointed if we were to sell Jordan. If we get £8 - £10 million then that will go a long way in League One to help fund the new squad re-build. I’ve also seen that many of the big clubs are after Menzi Mazwi but I hope the club can do everything to try to keep him. KRO

Jay Stansfield was consistently good regardless of the manager. JJ's real emergence came when Rooney was in charge (the one and only positive from Rooney's time at the club). He's a Welsh international, and whilst Wales doesn't have an embarrassment of riches he's like you say an international player. Playing on that platform and stage has only got to be a good thing for his development. Atalanta would be an amazing move for the young man. Champions League football. I think he would be better playing with better players and played in his best position on a regular and consistent basis. He's young, physically he will develop and if coached properly he could be a top player. The fact that teams in Italy and the English Premier League are interested in him should say a lot. I'm not against him leaving. Being loaned back for a season if that's in the best interests of the club and the player or him being offered a new contract and improving at Blues. He played in a poor side last year and being moved around a lot, wouldn’t have helped him. I think we should judge him mostly when he played attacking midfield. I rate the young man. He has a lot of potential. He should command a decent transfer fee should he leave. But like i said i wouldn't be adverse to seeing him in a Blues shirt next season, be that loaned back or he stays to continue his immediate career. I do think he will be sold though and i think that will be because we can get some decent money for him that we can reinvest into the squad and i think the player himself would want to move on to for his own progression and development. Moving to Atalanta would be a really good move for him, i think. Not many British players go abroad, but recent history shows/tells that the ones that do often do well. KRO 💙
@BCFCRoyalBlue7 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment Richard. You make many of the same points that we discussed in the podcast and I think that these reflect how most Blues fans think about this. If he is sold my real concern for him is that he may spend a lot of time on the bench and that will not really help his development. We see this time and time again where good young players go to top league clubs, only to find themselves back in lower leagues a few years later trying to reestablish themselves. I fear that that could be the case for Jordan and I think his best bet is to stay with us for a few more seasons and see where the club goes. KRO
@RICHP19797 ай бұрын
@SmallHeathAllianceFC He's too good for League One. I do think the better the players he plays with and in his best position he's a very good player. I think if he leaves, he wouldn't leave to be sat on the bench. It's very clear that the young man wants to play football, so I'm sure he would want some assurances about his minutes on the pitch. I think if and when he leaves Blues and he will at some point, I'm sure, he will really kick on. I would be pleased if we could and did keep him but I really don't see him staying. The only way we see him in a Blues shirt next season is if he is loaned back to us, or we offer him much important contract. I think he's underrated by virtue of the fact that he was played out of position too many times. When he was asked to do this, this is when games passed him by, and he disappeared. When he played in his best position, he played really well, and he has an eye for a goal, too. Whatever happens, he's an asset to the club and another shining example of our successful academy. KRO 💙

@@RICHP1979 there is no doubt he is a very good young talented player however if he went to say West Ham or Leicester or even Atalanta I don’t see him having a great deal of playing time. @RICHP19797 ай бұрын
@SmallHeathAllianceFC I think there's an argument to suggest that even training with better players would be good for his development. He's still a young man with a lot to learn, but attimeshe has shown real quality. I'm not comparing him to Foden, of course, but he didn't have the minutes on the pitch, but training with and learning from better players did him no harm at all. Obviously, Foden, like Bellingham, is a generational talent, but I think JJ's career would kick on if he was to leave not to the level of Foden or Bellingham, of course. However, I don't think staying with Blues would be a bad thing for him either as I do fully accept your point that he’s likely to start for Blues at lot more than if he moved on. Another point I'd like to make, and again, this isn't a direct comparison. I'm in terms of ability, but it's within the context of him being judged in his best position, which is in the middle of the park and not stuck out on the left. When Paul Scholes played on the left for England, he was like a fish out of water and nowhere near the player he was when he was in his best and preferred position in the middle. As always, I really enjoy your content, and I agree with almost everything you both have to say, and I really respect and admire what you do and how you do it. What I also like is being able to engage in happy and healthy debate, I think this is another reason why I really enjoy your channel. It's really engaging. KRO 💙

I really like your point about how he will develop with better players around him. It will be interesting to see what JJ decides because I think the decision will be in his hands. If he wants to stay I think the club will want to keep him. Many other fans have said that they will be glad if he stays but will equally be ok if we get a decent fee for him. I think his main strength is arriving late in the box and getting on the end of things. I was hoping that he would get into double figures with his goals which might have kept us up, but that didn't happen. If he goes he goes. Apart from a few players and possibly two managers, there are very few people in and around the first team who could honestly say that they couldn't have done better. At some point though our mentality has to change from being a selling club to balance the books club to one that keeps it's best young players. KRO

I think he's heart is more into playing for Wales at the moment. He has looked more complete for his country recently rather than Blues. He is young has all the attributes to be a decent midfielder with maturity come consistency usually and has the outside shot to score some handy goals. I think is we got 6-7 million for him we would be doing well. He won't play with his heart in Div 1 so let him go. Personally I wouldn't be upset if he left. I'm not convinced he would be 100% committed to the club given where we are. I also think he is a bit over rated, disappears for long periods and he is slooooooow. OK he scored 8 goals, but his last goal for Blues was against Ipswich, on Feb 24th. H e didn't score for the last 14 games of the season and I thought his performances during that time were pretty average. Put it this way . If they sold Dixon or Donovan I would be much more upset than if they sell James. I think he would go for no more than £5 million.
