Your photos demonstrate the Exa’s capabilities well. Good video!

Bravoi!! I agree I too have my Contax II, and III, Praktina, and Pentacon, and the Kodak Retina Reflex with all German Lenses. So why paid through the Nose with a Leica as these models, and your EXA gives a thrill in Sharp, Contrasty, and a thrill to use them... Thank You Love the Video, especially the one shot of the SAAB car in Texas as I thought that shot was in Europe.

My first experience of looking through an SLR was with an Exa 500 which I subsequently bought new in 1969. It came with a Domiplan standard 50 mm which I later changed to a Tessar 50 mm and had a Meyer 135 mm Orestor as well as a 200 mm Orestegor.Maybe also a Lydith 30 mm. The latter three all preset aperture. Used until 1982 when I bought a s/h Nikkormat FTN and I must admit things got a lot better!

This was my first "real" camera. My dad had an Exacta so i used one of his old lenses.

The images look really great! Honestly I'm a big fan of not having an instand mirror return. Having the image disappear on you the second you press the shutter button makes me even more considerate of my composition than analog already does on its own. If you don't mind me asking, what film did you shoot on? And do you find yourself opening the aperture more than usual due to the slow speeds?

If Exa have 1000/s box body it could be the best camera ever made :3

Are you saying that Exa/Exacta lenses will work on M body Leicas, just screw on?

When looking for lenses, what mount are you looking for? Just found this camera at a garage sale for 5 bucks.

Exakta mount lenses.

Exakta. There were hundreds of different lenses made for the Exakta mount in the 1950s and 60s, by dozens of lens makers. Some were trash, most were quite good, and more than a few were outstanding. While some of the greatest lenses hold higher value as collectibles, most Exakta mount lenses today sell for peanuts, as the cameras which fit them are now more than 50 - 70 yeas old. The Exa used to be the "backup" camera for the Exakta user, limited functions but very inexpensive.
