Is the JLC Master Control Calendar Worth the PriceSurge?!

Subscribed! I'm looking for this watch. Chrono24 prices are one thing, I'm not sure exactly what the going rate is for them but I'd guess it's a bit under retail. My old friend from grade school sells watches, among other things and I'm hoping he can give me a good deal and give me a better sense of what these watches actually go for. I plan on trading three watches for it and hopefully don't have to pay a penny, but that might be dreaming. I'm 32 and also a JLC fan boy. You're not the only one! I've liked this watch for at least five years. While I don't love the price increases, JLC is still undervalued, and I'm grateful for that. Look at how nuts VC prices are. They sell a non chronograph steel complete calendar with a moon phase for 24.7!!!! And the time only version at least, is a Cartier-made movement. Shame! lol. JLC might be the best bang for buck for watches in this class. I think it's hard to argue against that.

Trading three watches for a JLC sounds like a solid plan! I traded twk watches for my 1968 Memovox Tribute, and don’t regret it! I completely agree with you about JLC being undervalued compared to brands like VC. The craftsmanship and heritage of JLC make it a standout choice in the luxury watch market. I’m under 40 and love JLC, and this watch specifically. Really like the dial, and the ss bracelet makes the watch very versatile (which I think the watch lacked with just the calfskin strap). Was able to get mine for $17.5k with the ss bracelet from my AD

@@JimiTime1 about 6 months. It’s been great. Don’t wear it as my everyday, but you definitely could. Like I said in my initial comment, just a really versatile watch on the bracelet that works for both casual and dressy situations. 40mm is a great diameter for my wrist size. Slim profile for a chronograph. Like the bracelet a lot (looks and feels good on the wrist, easy to use micro adjust, etc). Don’t have any negatives, honestly. Also, this is very much personal preference, but I really like the look of the watch. White / silver-ish dial that plays with the light, subtle contrast with blue subdial hands, symmetrical, etc.

people with the type of personality who go around correcting pronounciation of words/brands have issues. did mom criticize too much when young? here in the us of a, the country that tells other counties what's what, we pronounce words differently depending on culture and location. you sounds like an american, kudos for your fluency if foreign, but back up if you are trying to tell another man how to say a word. how about link to a video of you pronouncing the world's brands?
