Hi there! I'm also using The Kind Kingdom this year. I've been following along to see how things are going with it. I can understand your feelings but I think it will be easier as the year goes on. I actually decided to separate the readings/activities into three parts of the day: morning time (hymn/bible, table time (core subjects), and teatime (or narnia time.) We try to make it feel more like a reward at the end of school day instead of just "another thing on the list." I put our youngest down for her nap, play some Narnia inspired instrumental music on and we have tea or hot cocoa with store bought cookies. It's a little calm in the chaos. I know it must be even harder to find ways to make it work with four kiddos, it's tricky with three! You'll find what works for you! Best wishes on a great school year!

It sounds like you all are doing great!! I think separating them is a great idea! We usually tend to do Bible, hymn, and prayer during breakfast. We’ve been doing our Narnia book on the way to enrichment groups using hoopla. And we tend to do science/history during the babies nap time. But your day sounds much more fun!! I love it! 🥰 thanks so much for watching and connecting ❤️

I think what we have learned is not to worry too much about when the curriculum isn't going perfectly. It's best to give it some time and see what we can do to make it work before jumping to something else. 😁

It sounds like your doing awesome with history using the kind kingdom!!! I didn’t know that it needs extra added to it for 4th grade up!!! We love listening to the Bible!!! Nothing wrong with audiobooks!!! The only writing my older kids do is writing assignments for other subjects and grammar and spelling are separate!!! I look for progress and don’t worry about grade level as that’s why we homeschool!!!

I agree. Progress is the most important! Hard to remember it at times though. ❤️
