I feel like Ferrari shot themselves in the foot with making the SP3. It is too good of a car and honestly a better successor to the LAF. There would be universal hype if the SP3 was revealed with its NA V12 and the retro styling instead of the F80.

People hated the SP3 when it came out, and the le mans winning V6 objectively has way more prestige than a random v12. But I agree with the SP3 being way too good looking, it feels like the Icona series is taking away good ferrari designs from the Halo car series

the v6 fit the philosophy of the Ferrari "hypercars"/flagship, they are keeping the v12 alive but the successor to enzo, f40 or Laferrari ,has to have ties with the racing world and the highest level technologies available to Ferrari at that moment (& showcase what's to come), the v6 in the f80 is derived (or maybe the same engine) as the leMans winning (2 in a row) 499p with strong ties to the F1 world, all of you complaining that F80 doesn't have a v12 really seems to forget what this car suppose to represent.

Which should make us question whether it was Ferrari's soul in the first place. Though I'd say that the soul of Ferrari was always in the engine. When the 488 was released they started to lose it, but the design was still close enough to the Pininfarina-designed 458 that it looked the part. The same with the F8. Once they did something that was entirely done in Centro Stilo and combined it with the neutered engines (despite the power numbers looking amazing), they pretty much stopped being Ferrari. That is what is being reflected in the resale value.

It wasn't Ferrari that separated pinninfarina ( sorry if I misspelled) from Ferrari. Pinninfarina never really was Ferrari Exclusively. Sure the 2 OG Guys grew up doing their hobby / love4 cars together and the 2 *Worked 2wards very similar end goals . But when enzo passed. The people in both MANAGEMENT an financial parts of both an one saw a much more rewarding an profitable/publicly rewarding VENTURE. LIKE FERRARI'S CFO AN it's stock reports state averaging 80,000$ profit per (base model 0 optioned )170,000$ish Car is one hell of profit but pinnin makes $$$$$$$ per car so.......

GMA, Singer and the like are absolutely spot on with every move they make because it is customer driven actions rather than boardroom driven. It's always the same no matter what industry when you stop listening to your actual customers. Another issue with Ferrari is that they can do no wrong in their eyes because the F80 was sold out before anyone laid eyes on it. The customers will have to express their concern or they won't change course and due to the money involved I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Bingo. C8 z06 & zr1 for the win. Corvettes even have higher skidpad grip than every single supercar of all time. (1.16-1.22g). Which is higher than 918s, Laferrari, P1, SVJ.. & only beat by gt3rs (1.24g). And go look at Car & Driver Lightning Lap at VIR. The C7 Zr1 & C8 z06 embarass the hell out of nearly everything. (488, 720s, 600lt, 991 gt3rs, Huracan Perf., Murci SV, 918spyder, Ford GT. & more). Theyre 5th & 4th place of all time iirc. C8 z06 basically tied with the 765LT, & only beat by AMG GT Black, Gt3RS, & a Senna.😂 And now the Zr1 is wrecking all supercars.. With a 233mph top speed.. & making more power with an ICE v8.. than ferrari/lambo & their v12's/TT v8's, hybrids. The 550 V12 is not an F12 engine…not even close. The Gallardo is a sport car and beyond exciting. I’d take a Gallardo over any 550.

Yes they have lost their way now doubt. Ferrari has the capability to bring us a 2500 lb carbon tub v12 manual hypercar. Yet they bring a v6, 5 electric motors, AWD and no apparent design language. They have been moving towards this for years but this set it off for me personally. This as a Ferrari owner and life long lover of the marque very disappointed in their direction.

Good topic you're discussing about different generations liking older cars, very interesting what the future will bring for 1980-2010 era cars. I think cars of that vintage bring some levels of involvement that's rarely seen in new cars all while being easy enough to live with. Yes pre 1980 cars are even more 'involved' but often require much more knowledge and maintenance to live with and keep up with. All while 2010-present cars all take away driver involvement and add complexity in control units and assembled electronic modules that still lack a proper aftermarket.

GMA is one of the few companies making cars with soul today. The GMA T.50 is the only car that feels like an actual successor to the F1: V12. NA. Manual. 3 seats. Meanwhile McLaren makes the same car over and over, and they all sound like vacuum cleaners. Forced induction Ferraris sound slightly better but still nothing like the old-school NA stuff. And Lamborghini... VAG did them dirty with the new Temerario. Imagine if that car had the same V8 engine with the same 10k rpm redline, but instead was NA, 550 to 600hp, and had a stick shift? They would have back orders for YEARS. Instead, it's less exciting than a C8 Z06.

They basically took the 12 cylindri, SF90 & some bits from the F40 & mashed them together. I understand the V6 is a Le mans winning engine, but this is Ferrari, a Halo car, it HAS to have a screaming V12 in it. Epsc when their SUV has a V12... I personally love the look of the W1 McLaren. Looks amazing. Love the rear wing & interior look. Porsche is too busy launching the new GT3 & GT3 Touring. They will definitely redesign the Mission X car.

IMO makes me appreciate all the older analog supercars that much more. They may definitely not be as fast but their character and driving experience is that much more engaging ans memorable. I think down the road these traits in supercars may come back but at a steep premium.

The "holy trinity" didn't catch my eye because they were hybrids. But AT LEAST they were FVCKING BEAUTIFUL! These new cars? Horrible designs that look like any other regular "supercar" and not particularly good, not to mention the "more power" mentality and nothing more. The W1 not using the V10 from the Solus GT and the F80 not using the V12 were also a big FVCK YOU to customers. Seriously. Explain this to me.. Ferrari, Lambo & everyone else have ditched, downsized & turbo'd/muffled their engines due to EPA regulations. Each brand get's a max total C02 limit. Which's how they still make high power n/a V12's.. (By making efficent cars to offset it) So why are they making little TT V6/V8, hybrid, awd, overweight, soulless mid-engine super/hypercars. AND THEN using their wicked V12's in the godd*mn SUV's, FF, gtc4 lusso etc??? Make that make sense. They coulda put the TT hybrids in the 4 seater family haulers.. And put nasty 4.5-6.5L v12's (or v8's) in the mid-engine cars. (Imagine even some "458s" style models, with 1 rear motor like a P1.. & a 4.0-4.5L 10k+ rpm n/a v12/v8) like cosworth's GMA T50

Why would anyone besides a collector buy the W1 and the F80 to actually drive or at least have in their non-ferrari, non-mclaren collections. @@flexinclouds I think they're trying new things and hoping to protect the brand by putting a V12 in it. The Purosangue and hatchbacks would have been even more hated and generated even more drama if they didn't have the V12. Eventually, all of these models will be downsized and become hybrids and EVs. But to start, they're hoping to get their foot in the door of a new segment that's completely out of place for their brand. That's my only guess. The sad thing is that the cool stuff is becoming more and more unattainable. Lamborghini is gone, all hybrids and EVs from now on. But the new GT3 keeps the NA 6cl and MT. The 50C still has the NA V12. McLaren still offers ICE. Aston Martin still offers the V12. So some are still doing some cool stuff. But the HALO cars not getting the best stuff really bothers me. They seem like spec-sheet cars, not real halo cars, aspirational cars, dream cars that kids will put on their walls. The future is not going to be pretty if they continue with this plan. They're trying to survive the electrification trend, but they're not doing a very good job at it. And I believe that in 50 years most of these brands will end up failing and selling to big conglomerates who will try to make cool-looking EVs and sell them to any sucker with enough money and not enough brains. The only salvation is synthetic fuel. It needs to be a success for cars as we know to survive. If not, all we will have left is the past.

I rarely post a comment, but as you guys wanted to hear from the "video game generation", here you go: I'm 27, grew up playing video games 24/7 and I still play some video games 4-5 hours after dinner. All my love for cars comes from racing games like Need for Speed and films like Fast and the Furious. The best racing game for me from that time was the 2005 NFS Most Wanted and I absolutely loved the E46 M3 GT3 with the V8 engine in it, it was like the final best car in that game. I have ever since tried to find a homologated GT3 for sale but haven't found one yet. I think only 5 were made for the road. Hence I bought a good unmodded manual E46 M3 CSL a couple of years ago and had it shipped here in Mumbai. I also recently bought a 2013 manual V12 Vantage S because I love Astons and it's the closest you can get to the old DBS but it costs half the price. Next I'm looking for a R35 GTR but haven't found one I want yet. I do agree also that I am only interested in older cars, the newer cars aren't that interesting to me especially EVs. EVs specifically are an appliance to me for going from point A to point B and that's it. For a sports/super car I want an engine, that too naturally aspirated because the sound matters a lot to me. The only cars I would be fine with turbocharged/supercharged are JDM cars. My ultimate peak super cars are Carrera GT, Aston Martin One-77, Murcielago, LFA and Ferrari F50, CGT and One-77 being #1 (can't decide between the two). Long way to go to afford cars like these so imma keep working my way up. Maybe I'll buy some from you guys, cheers! Edit: wait I forgot about the Zonda, Zonda is insane I also want one of those. Pagani screwed up with the Huayra because of the turbo, Zonda sounds infinitely better.

With the Bugatti , when the Veyron came out they flat out made a massive leap. 1001hp while everyone else was sitting at around 600hp. It was the Enzo at 660hp and then the Koenigsegg which was 200 more than the enzo (at the time) then suddenly 1001hp from the veyron. Its sat there for awhile. We know now in more recent years Koenigsegg has beaten the Bugatti pretty consistantly . What i think has happened is the industry finally caught up to the Bugatti even though Bugatti and Koenigsegg are still the two mfg's at roughly 1500/1600hp, cars like the SF90, McLarens, can have sometimes 500hp less yet with technology , hybrid etc can run head to head in quarter mile and 0-60 speeds. Industry has caught up to the Veyron even though its still fast even by todays cars at 1001hp .

You're speaking a lot but you haven't actually said anything? The reason why the W1 and F80 will be worthless in 10 years is because in the 10 years every SINGLE entry level hybrid powered supercar will havre 1200hp. Back when the LaFerrari and the P1 came out, they had DOUBLE the horsepower of an average supercar. The W1 and the F80 simply aren't that impressive when Bugatti just released a 1800hp car, Jesko has 1500hp without a hybrid system, the Zenvo aurora has 1800Hp. They're not impressive like they used to be. They will both lose money in my opinion.

I am ok with the design but the power & performance numbers. The W1 looks phenomenal especially when they kept the V8, their technology is from another planet The F80 is quite disappointing with the V6 but overall it’s still a good looking car

The W1 is not much different from the P1, Speedtail being a twin turbo V8. At least, F80 is using a V6 that won LeMans and it was also the overall winner, not like it just won its group like the Ford GT in 2017!

@@hellcat-707 the W1 V8 is a whole new developed Engine that looks nothing like the previous Mclaren's V8, Ford also made a mistake by putting the V6 in the New GT which made the sales numbers go down

@@readyon3506 Sure it's a new V8, but doesn't have the legacy of Ferrari's V6 and I was talking about the same formula - V8 RWD hybrid - P1, Speedtail, W1 and will be joined by the 750S replacement in the near future. The new Ford GT was supposed to be sold in much less numbers than its current production run, Ford increased production from their initial claim and looking at its values, the car is in demand.

Problem is regardless of how new the car is, Mclaren has been too copy and paste with their designs and powertrains for the vast majority of their cars save for the F1, Artura and F1 itself. Almost all gave the same 7 speed double clutch auto 'box, same twin turbo V8 architecture and that's excluding the rather tenuous reputation Mclaren has for customer service and build quality.

the W1 is from another planet? It's barely an upgrade over the P1, looks worse than the P1, will sound worse than the P1. What is there to like about it? It costs double what the P1 costs for only 200 more horsepower which is unusable on the road anyway 🤣. The twin turbo V8 is just so boring. We've seen it on every single McLaren supercar for a decade now. Give us the Solus GT v10 - then I would've liked the car.

They are doing what makes sense for them in terms of technology advancement and moving the game forwards. I don’t fault them for that. I’m personally just not excited about this generation of super cars. My budget stops at Porsche 911, so they don’t care what enthusiasts like me think. These cars are sold out before they even go on sale so they are doing just fine.

The T-50 seems spot on for what these high end clients are going to want. You could have bought 2 T-50s for that overpriced VW Bugatti is that they were talking about.

The F80 owners in 2025 car shows, would show their 3 litre V6 and rev the engine to the teenage kids, who arrived in dads 6 litre V8 truck which sounds much better than the ugly F80. The F80 looks good - no, sounds good - no.

Ferrari could have just spun their V12 to 11 k rpm and put a 320 HP e motor and got 1460 HP in an updated LaFerrari package. More than enough to challenge Bugatti or even Koenigsegg. Unfortunately the F80 looks absolutely horrible. The Mclaren W1 is really good, except that exaggerated side intake which was more subtle in the P1.

The problem is they've confused race cars with street cars. If you have the means to buy a £3m car, then it's likely you'd be able to also buy a LMP style car dedicated for the track. So yes, they have become soulless as it's become function over form. Most of these cars are completely pointless on real roads. I guess that where T50 really stands out.

F40, LaFerrari (just beautiful though I need a 3rd Fun Pedal 6 Speed Manual Transmission. ) Diablo, Gallardo, & Murcielago Lamborghini's are unattainable. For me the greatest car I'll ever own is the 2022 Roush Mustang with Rev-Match Tremec 6 Speed Manual Transmission, Magneride Dampeners. With the Intercooled Limited Slip Torsen Rear Differential same as the GT500. The closest Luxury I'll ever buy is an Aston Martin with the 3rd Fun Pedal 6 Speed Manual Transmission. I am not into Luxury. A Roush Mustang is Luxury lol for me. I am a cat Enthusiasts. 1,000 + hp need wider wheels, and larger brakes to stop the extra hp, and need a Roll Cage at 700+ hp 👦👍🚀🏎🏁🚩⛰️🏞🧗🌲

I live in Pinellas where Milton hit directly. What a mess it left. There are still missing street lights, signs, and people have piled ruined possessions by the roadside all over. Tree limbs and fencing lies everywhere. Thankfully power is back on. Grocery stores still aren't back up to full supplies yet, but we are getting there. You all were lucky, but it also hit as a 3 instead of the 4 or 5 it was projected. Still was a doozy.

I don't like the design of the W1. I like the design of the F80 even less. That thing is HORRIBLE! At least the W1 isn't horrible, it's just not pretty and boring. Which is sad. These cars should be really beautiful.

Lamborghini has lost its originality since the Diablo VT 6.0... I love the Murcielago as well but it was not a complete unique design and neither was the Aventador Both successors used the same basic Layout of the Diablo VT 6.0. in fact the same thing with Revuelto 2 front vents 3 side vents on each side 2 rear vents Same basic design. Murcielago is fatter, abit longer and wider than the 6.0 and yes they added the pop out vents. However nothing revolutionary like the Countach or Diablo

The F80 is so hideous that they sold every single one of them already. I'm sure its fast, but everything is fast now. Make it sexy. That's what will drive interest in 70 years. Not a turbo v6 with eleventy billion horsepower.

BRAND NEW P1ns rolling off production line were bent. The w1 has proper con rods worth300 ish bucks over a 765lts rods. Lol

Supercar and hypercar mfg. Have killed it for me all this hybrid and full electric just sucks they have killed the personality these big v-10 v-12 + cars have the sound is half the experience. I totally respect the performance they are getting but on the street it's kinda pointless because you will never realize that performance on the road and they sound like crap

I didn't. Most of their cars look so similar. Their styling department is too conservative, especially from the exterior and it's just another V8, irrespective of how much power or acceleration it's got. They should have put an NA V10 in there or something, people are bored of the usual offerings.

There seems to be an increased interest in cars that have driver involvement and emotion. Probably why the retro mod scene is booming. These new hyper cars are technically impressive but don’t think they excite people in the same way as the older analog cars do.

The W1 is, at best, bland. The Ferrari is straight up ugly, the daytona was literally one of the worst inspiration they could have taken. Even Bugatti with the tourbillon, the Mistrale was more of a step forward design wise than the tourbillon, it literally looks like a pig with a big snout and stoned eyes. Like wtf is going on.
