DLC is on the blade and the PVD is on the frame. Good video, but the music in the background is annoying.

The scissors were the deciding factor for me too. Was going to go with a Surge, but once I heard about the Arc when the first leaks came out, I waited for that. Only thing it's missing, for me, is a ruler (Was EDCing a Charge+ TTI before the Arc, which has a ruler). A shame they didn't put one along the inside where "Built with Free technology" is written. Wonder if I can find someone to laser engrave the scales with a ruler.
@samcarroll_yt11 ай бұрын
I was pretty bummed about the lack of ruler too! I pulled my arc out the other day to measure something then remembered it wasn’t there haha.

ZapWizard recently posted a video stream of him working on adding it to the arc via scales or something of the sort. Will probably release it in the near future.

Yeah it does suck that good gear cost s more to get across the pond. I will say that the Arc can be a lifetime tool and that you would get so much out of it in the long run for the price. Thanks for watching!

A good review but as this is only comparing to another Leatherman Multitool, the title should be “Is this the New Leatherman Multitool Standard”. Which it almost certainly is (albeit at a much higher cost). However, arguably the Victorinox Tools are an (overall) superior Multitool to the Arc, there are other reviews on KZbin which indicate this. So the title is misleading. No doubt the Arc has a better knife, but the superior Victorinox quality and the overall user experience and warranty makes it a strong contender for best Multitool. Perhaps another comparison review?

Which victorinox unit is the direct competitor to the Arc? I’m about to pull the trigger and I wouldn’t mind checking out both companies.
@andrewspeed91188 ай бұрын
@@Zack_Axel Good question. The SwissTool and the Spirit each have their own relative pros and cons. Be surprised if there is a clear winner between these and the Arc, as it does depend upon the importance attached to each criteria - and that’s before taking into account the significant additional cost of the Arc. Whichever Victorinox you do choose for the comparison look forward to reading your review.

Nope. The diamond file cant sharpen the Magnacut blade = insanity ! Lack of t-shank adapter. These make the Surge the King. Should i talk about the new cutters?! Its a very good looking tool and thats all (imo).

Excellent video. I have a question about the One Hand opening. One user replied to me that he preferred the blade opening on the original model of the Victorinox Spirit because it was on the right side (just like on all small victorinox)... He mentioned that changing the position of the knife to the left side of the multi-tool is just to make it quick to open for right-handers... but that even if it was minimal, the productivity of the use of the knife decreased. That said... That would mean that all the -non serrated main blades- on the One Hand multi-tools are completely left-handed, except for the opening which would have to be one-handed... Because it is on the left side of the knife, it would be ideal for the natural movement of a left-hander... From the inside out to the left In case you didn't let me understand, you can see the position of the blade on any 91mm Victorinox and the Swiss have been doing it for 100 years with engineering bases and for a right-handed audience... They put the blade on the right side... Thank you and have a nice day

How is the retention on the pocket clip? So far, I have lost more leathermans because the pocket clip sucked.
@mynameisjeff313511 ай бұрын
The pocket clip is quite strong and tight too
@samcarroll_yt11 ай бұрын
I would say so far so good! I’ll have to pay attention to that over time. I have the pocket clip that you slide into place for the wave and never had an issue with it.
@HideBuz11 ай бұрын
You should roughen the inner side of the pocket clip with sandpaper to increase friction. The polish makes it slippy.

If it had a serrated blade I'd definitely buy it but I use the serrated blade and gut hook on my Charge all the time. How is the comfort of the pliers since it isn't the same rounded end like the Wave and Charge?
@makoygaara11 ай бұрын
Agreed that blade is very useful. I use it to cut nylon ropes most of the time.
@samcarroll_yt11 ай бұрын
I never really used the serrated blade on my wave but was always happy that I had that if needed. I would say the comfort level is about the same but the pocket clip does have the potential to create hotspots over long periods of use. I think the reason the wave is more comfortable in addition to the handles is that the pocket clip on that is inserted into the end of the handle and can be flatter on the side (if that makes sense?). I think the charge has the same design.

Have you/can you try open the main blade left handed?
@samcarroll_yt11 ай бұрын
You can get it out left handed, but when I tried I was having to use my index or middle finger slowly to get it out all the way.
@SinistralCitizen11 ай бұрын
@@samcarroll_yt yeah that's kinda they way I have to do it with the wave and p4. I was hoping to be able the reverse flick it but I think it's going to be too tight or too much resistance.

Worst Multitool for the price.

Why is it that all these "review" guys have to talk for an ungodly amount of time before they can get to what they are reviewing? No one cares what it compares to....just tell us about the one you are reviewing...

Hey thanks for watching! Comparison helps paint a better picture of the item being reviewed. This is especially true when it’s being compared to other models from the same company. Have a great day!
