People, way too often, say that “without Scottie/whoever else from the organization, there is no Jordan, there is no 6 rings, there isn’t a Last Dance. Well, without Michael, they had a few guys who go on to be in a Finals elsewhere, let alone win championships. Jordan was already accomplished before Scott got there, he just hadn’t won a ring. In no way did Pippen create Jordan.

MJ donated every dime to charity. MJ was ALWAYS MJ, especially in the playoffs and the Finals. I'm not mad at Scottie for feeling a way about the last dance. But bruh, for 30 years, you've given nothing but praise for MJ. Pip lifting up his foot to beg MJ to come back, his HOF speech, him defending MJ on ESPN. Scottie admitting that his first 2 year's he was partying. Pip was a great defensive presence for the Bull's, making timely shot's, but he couldn't do it without MJ either. Wouldn't have even got close to sniff a Finals without him. He's dogging the man out to prove what exactly? He's still Robin period!

I'm from Chicago I was there, Scottie was important, but Michael Jordan is the reason they went 6-0 and never play in a 7th game in the finals. Scottie was the same head case then, that he is now. We have always thought of Scottie Pippen as being weak, especially against Detroit, they use to punk Scottie all the time. Scottie Pippen wouldn't have won anything with out Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan would have won multiple Championships without Scottie, and if he had ben on another team Michael Jordan would have smash him the same way he did everybody else during that time.

@8:10, But Rob G, you give your opinion when you have no idea of what you're talking about. Michael DID overcome the cocaïne circus, he did overcome Pippen's back injury at Utah, he overcame being scrutinized as the biggest celebrity in the game...he DID all of that...it's true. What about the other guys? The other guys were talked about in the documentary...not like Michael Jordan of course...and rightfully so. @10:00, there is a revisionist history with Michael Jordan? Again, you have no idea of what you're talking about. The only guy who tried to make revisionist history here is Pippen. The documentary actually portrayed Jordan as a bad guy to some extent. Now, you say the "He didn't win anything till Pippen got there". Wrong, you are making revisionist history yourself and overrating Pippen. Pippen wasn't even an all-star in 2 of those 6 titles (the first one and the last one). Pippen was a good all-star player but never a superstar. The Bulls' front office wasn't good, they were bad. And Jordan won DESPITE his front office, not because of them. They didn't find a way to put good players around him Rob G...Jordan CARRIED this team. The front office didn't do anything before or after Jordan and the same goes for those players that you are talking about because Jordan made them better and that's a fact. And if you don't think it's true, you have no idea of what you're talking about so be honest yourself and admit that you don't know anything about that era. Go study the roster of the teams the Bulls overcame: The bad boys Pistons, the Sonics, the Magic, the Blazers, the Suns, the Lakers; the Knicks...those teams had far more talents overall than the Bulls. Jordan led the Bulls and carried the Bulls in the clutch...that's always been his trademark and the revisionist history is trying to deny it. Pippen third in the MVP voting in 1994 with 7 votes? Give me a break...what about the following season, when the Bulls was a catastrophe, Pippen demanded to be traded on live TV and begged Jordan to come back? Please...

Also, mj is overrated yet no other player past or present has broken most of his records, has higher offensive AND defensive win shares(until Greek freak this past year), higher bpm, and is 100% in the finals as the main guy while holding highest finals ppg series while beating more NBA top 50 players doing this...make it make sense?

Rob G, they didn't win a playoffs series before he got there and he can make a case for himself because of that? Ok, let's see: Pippen: 10,6 points/5,2 rebounds/2,4 assists/0,8 steals/1 block/shooting 47% Jordan: 45,2 points/5,4 rebounds/4,8 assists/ 2,8 steals/ 1,6 block/shooting 56%. In my opinion, this controversy around Pippen probably has more to do with Scottie having personal issues and struggling to find himself now 15 years into retirement. He sees guys like Barkley & Shaq on TNT. He sees Jordan owning a team, other greats are in coaching (Kidd, Billups, etc etc) He feels the need to be relevant. I find it very unfortunate because I loved Pippen the player.

The difference that Scottie doesn't get is similar to some of the points made in the segment when you say, "what were Scottie's moments?" He mentions the flu game, welp, it is indeed harder to play with a bad back and guess what as a result Scottie's line that night reflects it, he scored what 8 points? Jordan had the flu, did he play as expected and have an awful game? Only if you consider 44pts a bad game. And Scottie has gotten his flowers, he is considered one of the top 50 of all time. One of the greatest defenders to play the game. Has 6 rings. Yes you can say neither won an NBA chip without the other. But you CAN say MJ won a ncaa title, a gold medal, and was considered one of if not the best player in the league BEFORE Scottie even got to the Bulls.

This guy talking revisionist history, here you go, Jordan got swept on a lottery team, was injured his second season, came back had the famous 63 point game at the garden, and got swept again in his THIRD season in the NBA by one of the greatest teams in history. The playoff series they finally won it was Scotties 7ppg not MJs 45ppg that got them over the hump. Bad thing for these younger talking heads is most of them didn't see the Bulls themselves. I did. The Bulls won when they were ready all the way around. Pippen got better, Jordan learned to dial it back and talking about defense, Jordan is 9x first team himself so people need to stop acting like he was just there to chuck it..

Rob G is not understanding, yes the last dance focused on mj, ut he was the leader of the squad. That dynasty started with mj, he started the build of the bulls when they were nothing. Scottie got drafted to a playoff team. Also, all the pts he's bringing up about how scottie looked in the doc was not what the general audience was tlkin about. If anything, we felt for scottie because mj had such praise for him despite the injuries, pay issues, and strife within the organization.
@Crimson_Titan

That's the thing Scottie and so many other MJ detractors miss about the point of superstars like MJ, which is that the burden of responsibility is ALWAYS placed on him. If the team loses, MJ gets blamed no matter how many stats he puts up. Conversely, if he wins, he deserves to get all the credit as well. The fact is that Pip, as good as he was, was imply just one of the best roleplayers in the league. As Rob points out, were he MJ's equal, he would have MVP awards (regular season and/or finals), he would've averaged more than 22 pts for his career. About the only legitimate claim that can be made in Pip's defense is that MJ didn't win in the playoffs before Scottie got there. And even that claim rings hollow, because Pip was playing with much higher caliber teammates the years he played w/out MJ, and still he lost. MJ didn't have any HoF-caliber players on his team during his first few years in the league.

Pippen had very little to do with bulls winning that 1st playoff series. MJ had 45 & Pipp & Oakley the next 2 scorers both 10ppg. Pipp wasn’t really a star caliber play til the 91 playoffs. Basketball has 5 players on the court at a time but the talent gap(especially on offense) between MJ & his teammates is the widest on any championship team in modern nba history minus maybe 11 mavs & 94 rockets. MJ & Phil motivated Pippen because mentally he was so weak. That’s why MJ would give him praise to the press. Pippen is a clown. Great defender tho. BUT would he had been that great of a defender if he didn’t have to guard MJ in practice? Lol hell no

Jordan averaged 10-30 ppg more than Pippen in every series, while also averaging more assists for their Finals career, Playoff career and regular season career, and received more DPOY votes nearly every year.. MJ is also #1 all-time in PPG, PER, WS/48, and other key stats while Pippen ranks about 120th in these areas - there's never been a bigger statistical gap between 1st and 2nd option.. Jordan led Pippen by 10-30 ppg in every series of their career, while everyone else in history needed teammates to lead in scoring for entire playoff runs - i.e. Wade and AD led Lebron in PPG for the 11' and 20' Playoffs, while Kyrie nearly matched Lebron in the 2016 Playoffs.. Lebron's sidekicks actually outplay the league MVP like Kyrie did in the 16' Finals, or Bosh in the 11' ECF, or AD outplayed future MVP Jokic in the 20' WCF... Pippen never came anywhere near doing that - he was averaging 10-30 less than Jordan in every series and peaking at 21 ppg in the Finals.. Imagine if Pippen went to the 93' Finals and outplayed MVP Malone - that's the only way Jordan's ring quality could be reduced to Lebron's best ring.

The issue with several former Bulls (obviously Scottie has lots of issues 😅) is that The Last Dance was promoted as a documentary of the last year of the greatest team ever, but it actually was a subjective promotion of MJ brand, which happened to bring up every star players' low points except MJ's. The point with Kerr episode was to show that MJ's fist somehow made Kerr a clutch shooter. It's an entertaining serie for sure, but certainly not a documentary.

MJ came back and the Bulls won 13 out of 17 games and end the season in 5th place for playoffs. 1996 ECS Pippen 15ppg and 33% FG 1996 Finals Pippen 15ppg and 34% FG 1997 ECFR Pippen 16ppg and 38% FG 1997 ECF Pippen 16ppg and 41% FG 1998 Pippen quit on the team for 42 games and MJ took the team to a 62 wins, despite other injuries such as Rodman (37 games out), Longley 16 games out. 1998 ECFR Pippen 18ppg and 41% FG 1998 ECS Pippen 17ppg and 44% FG 1998 ECF Pippen 16ppg and 39% FG 1998 Finals Pippen 15ppg and 41% FG. The entire season and playoffs in 1998 Pippen was just an average player for the Bulls. Almost in every season, Pippen had at least 2 bad series in the playoffs where MJ had to carry his a** otherwise the team wouldn't get too far.

The last episode of last dance was dedicated to Scottie Pippen. How many times did Jordan say there is no Mike without Scotty there is no Bulls dynasty without Scottie Pippen. Scottie Pippen pushed me every single day in practice become great. What more does Scottie Pippen want??

I think some of why Scottie always gets upset about things like MJ being paid for the doc, which he donated anyways, is because you never really saw MJ use his leverage to push for guys who would’ve benefitted from things like that money when he easily could. When it came to pay for that doc if MJ pressed for guys to be paid something obviously they would’ve made something. Or back in the dance if he had ever pushed for Scottie to get his new deal, like he pushed to stop Scottie from being traded, Scottie probably gets that deal. But he never used his leverage to help guys like Scottie when he could have. And was he required to do that? No. But I imagine Scottie may have felt that way that MJ could’ve done things to help guys out but never really did. He’d speak on Scottie deserving to be paid like him but you never hear that he pushed for that or offered to make less so Scottie could be paid more and so on. That wasn’t a duty he had but I imagine it played a role in how Scottie is speaking out these days in the large mix of his negativity now.

@@KhalilAttiba Steph should've had at least 1 FMVP, even during the KD GSW era. I watched those finals series and Steph was the one that was playing the most consistent, but because KD showed up big in game 3 and 4 they gave the FMVP to him. If nothing else, he should've had that 2015 FMVP..
