I stopped carrying my G19 for basically all of the same reasons. With the LEM, you essentially get the consistency and ease of shooting a SA trigger and the safety of a DA hammer fired pistol without the need to decock. I also carry appendix, so I too appreciate the ability to thumb over the hammer when going back to the holster. And you don’t need to put a Gadget on your HK to get that feature....

The P30 & other HK guns with the LEM is like having a revolver type action that self cocks itself after firing, yet uncocks itself if you let up on the trigger, yet you have the benefits of semi auto capacity & fast reloading. With generally no external safety (unless you want one) the simplicity and versatility of this platform is unmatched, especially when you trick it out with a reduced reset trigger. It’s my all time favorite platform & the best self defense handgun IMO.
@lakeeriemonster45416 жыл бұрын
That’s my exact carry piece. I like the LEM, but I learned handgun shooting on an old Smith&Wesson model 15. Shot it mostly double action. I consider the LEM a 1.5 action. Also, it’ll take your VP9 15 round mags.

This is the perfect trigger: - Unlike striker, second strike capable - the first shot isn't too short and light - unlike DA/SA you don't have to remember to decock - unlike DAO, it's a short reset And when holstering you can hold the hammer down for that extra safety factor.

@Tacticool my p30 has been way more reliable than my glock 19 gen 4. Now I actually liked the gen 3 more, but my 19 was a jam o matic. Even my dads ccw for the longest time was the 26, still not close to hk. I honestly stopped carrying a glock when I pulled a glock mag out my pouch and it was completely busted along the witnesse holes in the back. Only downside to hk is do not drop a full mag on a hard surface. The mags empty are fine, a fully loaded mag will cause issues if you bounce it off concrete. If you do see this and decide you want one, don't over pay. I picked up my p30 for 550, I almost picked up a p30L the other day and in a matter of 10 mins the price went from 615, to 883. Hk lowered the price of a lot of their guns around the time covid hit. Pretty much everyone but the usp. A lot of gunshops are using it as a way to screw people out of money which is shady

I agreed with the video title even before I watched it. I've been carrying a USPc LEM for close to five years now, and it's just perfect. I like it for all the reasons that people usually mentioned. Consistent, light weight (for a duty gun) pull on every shot, but still with that second strike capability, and with the ability to thumb the hammer on reholstering ( I get very uncomfortable appendix carrying a striker gun). Add in the fact that all the newer model HKS are completely ambidextrous out of the box, and for me it really is the ultimate CCW piece. Probably not worth it for most people, if you ever truly want to take your HK gun to the next level, send it to Rick Holme at Lazy Wolf Guns (he does the HK competition team). His sear and coatings package we'll put an LEM on par with any good single action ( barring a 1911 or some $3,000 competition piece)

I'm now totally converted to HK! Because of the LEM! The Glock stays in the safe. HK has better ergonomics, better build quality, the glass filled polymer isn't as "plasticky" feeling as the Glock, or those SIG P-365s and 320s, which I abhor . @@krassimirpetrov7131 The comp-tac minotaur holsters MTAC feels great, works great, and looks great. Their p30 version fits both the p30 and the p30sk perfectly, so if you ever downsize to the sk (which I did because it is much easier to conceal) you wont have to buy a new holster. Sweet spot in that just right range of finger movement to fire and reset . Getting more accurate results and now much more confident with rapid firing . A former border patrol agent told me he likes me when I rapid fire because in a real situation you won't necessarily have a lot of time to carefully aim and shoot and he sees many people taking their sweet time . Anyway thinking of changing out the trigger to a match grade one even though it's not bad .

Excellent idea. I know the P320 is striker fired... but I wish they had a way to increase the trigger pull... especially in a way that a DA/SA would work, or even like this. One person sells a heavy P320 trigger spring... but I'm not sure if it's any good or not (and it would increase every trigger pull). I like the Glocks, because the have the 8lb connector.... and for people that want an even heavier trigger they can get the NY trigger springs (which are kind of excessive).

I just traded my HK USP .40 for a SIG P226 with an SRT and A DAK trigger (DAK installed), don't wig out on me yet! It's also a Stainless Elite, and I got the USP .40 for $500 after a military discount and a friend who worked at the store, double discounted worked out to 15% off and it was used...anyway, so got the SIG For a song. But before that I aquired, to me, the best carry piece I've ever had, the HK P2000 V2 LEM. I am REALLY loving the DAK though, it doesn't have a consistent trigger pull like the LEM does but it does have an SRT function that takes it to a very very very crisp, no-take-up, basically a heavier 1911 trigger or heavy glock trigger but totally managable. The LEM is like...well, it's like the Clarinet, you learn the Saxophone (I know from experience) you can play the Clarinet. You learn the DAK or a really, really nice revolver (seriously the pull on the DAK is like a 2.5k revolver I handled), the LEM is totally unique but it still provides that resistance that is revolver-DAK-adjacent enough. Both are surprisingly speedy and great for follow ups. Right now you can get a P2000 V1-V2 LEM for $600 or under and a SIG P226 DAK .40 for $550 tops (used) probably $450, police/military turn ins that are in fantastic condition. The P2000 you can get new for $600 or used for $500 from what I've seen at gunbroker and utahgunexchange. Good luck folks! Sorrya bout the long post.

After comparing the two, I definitely prefer the LEM to the DAK. I am going to be carrying a SIG 1911 for duty carry this fall, excellent gun, can't go wrong with it. But the P2000 V2 LEM (.40, though I generally prefer 9mm) and my P30SK Da/Sa will be regular carries for me. Wound up selling the SIG P220 Carry to help fund a few other pieces, kinda regret getting rid of it and the USP but I wound up with a really, really nice 1911 (Scorpion or Emporer scorpion, kinda hard to tell because it was decked out, there is metal checkering on both front and back, custom grips, wilson combat steel trigger, all the original parts and grip came with it for only $800. Not heavily used, standard 1911 tolerances which I prefer, etc.) Probably going for an HK 45 next, haven't decided if I'll do LEM or not (it kinda depends on my wife and my dad) my wife wound up loving the LEM, hating the DAK, which was funny because when she tried them in the shop she got SOOOOO mad at me for getting hte P2000 for my birthday present April this year. Now she carries it more than I do! She has a Smith and Wesson M&P Shield which I gotta say....how thin it is and hte Performance Center edition features...it gives my P30SK a run for its money!

@TheBoxingCannabyte6 жыл бұрын
PPS: What's funny is right now I probably shoot the DAK a bit better than the LEM, my wife out-shoots me on DA on DA/SA pistols but can't handle the DAK that well for some reason, weird...but she shoots the lem really , really well. Comfortable with her carrying it. She generally open-carries where we live, not that the P2000 isnt' easily concealable.

I love the LEM trigger . Im not big enough to carry IWB hip. I don't wear baggy clothes, so I need to carry appendix and this is one of the few guns I trust not to shoot my twig and berries off. Yes I train on holster draws but my boys are too important to even take the risk. I want a nice double action first shot then right into single action.

LEM doesn't have a different shot DA or SA. It's all the same trigger pull.

Since you’ve received your full size P30 LEM, do you prefer it or the P30SK LEM?

I do, but only because I just like the aesthetics. Both are phenomenal.

you're trying it on P30 - try it on HK45. It rivals 1911's. On HK45 its not so much of a light double action as it's a long single action. All benefits, no drawbacks.

IIRC the DAK was made for LE agency requests. But it was so unpopular or disliked its rare to actually find one. AIM had some DAK triggered Sigs (LE trade ins') this winter but had some problems selling them.

Any idea when they will release a 2020 style P30 with 17 round mags, suppressor height sights and cut for an optic?
@azcop26 жыл бұрын
Similar to a Sig DAK with a lighter second trigger reset.

Not too far apart. I think LEM is a better execution of the idea.

I really appreciate your review of this gun, especially since your a lefty, as am I. I was just looking at this very gun today and really liked it. This will be my first semi auto and have been researching a lot lately. The sales associate that worked with me today was giving me some pointers on how to hold it and pull up to target. The way he showed me to hold it is exactly the way you were holding it, left thumb pointing kinda up on right side of gun and right thumb pointing strait down the barrel. I have not actually shot one yet but one thing additional he suggested was taking my right index finger, and instead of wrapping it under the trigger guard, extend it out and around the front edge of the trigger guard. I wonder if this might help keep the end of the gun down when shooting. I plan to try both ways once I get one, and see if there is a difference. I'd be curious what you thoughts are on that theory. Thanks again for a great demo and review.

Great video! Have an vp9sk with burnt bronze slide but I think it's too nice to carry. I was looking at the p365 but with all the hiccups I've heard about lately I think I'll hold off. This video definitely put the p30sk in the running. Good job. Only competition is if I want to get a carry size 1911. Have also thought about being another vp9sk in fde and just switch out the slides. That way I'll have an all black and the fde with burnt bronze. Idk pondering on it this week

Which way did u go? I've got a vp9 and can't decide whether I want a vp9sk or p30sk they both seem to be great firearms Leaning towards the p30, hammer being a bit safer for carry

I can’t help but appreciate the fact that you’re a southpaw! This is one of the main reasons I bought a HK P2000 (lem).... ambidextrous mag release (and de-cocker for non lem models). Sub Compact should make it comfy for conceal/carry, eh? Any suggestions for a good holster? Thanks.

I want to add an HK to my collection. Which HK (roughly equivalent to the size of a Glock 19) do you recommend with LEM Trigger?

P30.

I just sold my Glock 19 to help purchase my hk p30sk.I got night sights and Double/single with decocker.I will have to see if it was the LEM trigger as I didn't check.Cant wait to pick it up and go shooting.Good review
@ASPextra6 жыл бұрын
If it has a decocker, then it's not LEM. :)
@kensakata51246 жыл бұрын
There is a variant (V0) of the LEM that has a decocker, making it a LEM/DA. I’ve never seen one commercially available in the US though so practically, any P30 with a decocker will be DA/SA (V3). I have heard that you can convert a V3 to a V0....
@venomgt72996 жыл бұрын
Ken Sakata Thanks for the input.I checked my receipt and see the variant I order is V3 DA/SA night sights and 3 magazines.One of the magazines has the pinky extension.I don’t mind having an 11lb DA and a 5-6lb SA.Cant wait to pick it up this Tuesday as MD makes you wait 7 days
