Mazda retired the 'Demio' nameplate in September 2019 and changed over to 'Mazda 2' for their home market as well. The guy at the back says he'd rate the Mazda 2 as 8 over 10 but gives the rates the CX-3 as 4.5 over 10, which is confusing because they are essentially the same car underneath. The CX-3 has all the good points of the Mazda 2, with the added benefit of increased ground clearance and body cladding. It's fun to drive, good fuel economy, decent sound system AND no space for passengers (so you won't feel guilty about not giving lifts)

They often don't offer much more space than the hatchbacks they are based on, but they are often more expensive -- yet they sell very well. The appeal of compact SUVs is they give the driver an elevated sitting position, and since they are compact, they are still easy to drive, park and live with than a larger SUV. They are often also more 'upmarket feeling' than the hatchbacks they are based on. You wouldn't rate a sporty coupe like the Mazda Miata poorly because it has less space than the Mazda 2 and no back seats yet it is more expensive. For someone looking for a fun sporty small car, the 2-door Mazda Miata is a HUGE bargain. I guess what I'm trying to say is that money aspects, like looks, are subjective because we all have different size pockets. Makes sense?

The sky-active diesel engine is a no go zone. First, it's an weak block and diesel is extremely powerful. Note the nozzles in diesel rather than compression. Was an attempted compromise to reduce pollution but it's leading to Many failures.

LATE COMMENT ALERT😁, this was insightful but one thing I'd like you to change is how you measure boot space, for smaller cars and compact CUVs would really help if you used baskets or the large rolls of tissue, for noone will be carrying a MBugua every day. Also when measuring the boot you never removed the Load cover, angetoshea. Overall it's a great review and dealers would benefit importing the 1.5l petrol radher than the diesel. Still the Juke is an underdog😂😂 over and OUT
