I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with THE HOLY GHOST." The things of this world will NOT save a person, like water Baptism for example.

Most important thing is to repent first. Peter said repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for remission or your sins. You shall receive the holy ghost. Acts 2 38.

A really great answer and well presented. . John baptism was a baptism of repentance . Acts 19:3-5. John’s baptism was a different baptism than being baptized into Christ Jesus Acts 2:38-46. Being baptized into Christ Jesus is identifying with Jesus death burial and resurrection . No one could be baptized into the body of Christ until Jesus death burial and resurrection Romans 6:2-6 Colossians 3:1-3. The Holy Spirit uses other believers to baptize us into Christ Jesus 1 Corinthians 12:13. Always baptism followed immediately after believing and being filled with the Holy Spirit. Renewing our minds by god’s word daily helps us become disciples of Jesus while making other disciples of Jesus Christ on our walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. Breaking bread daily and healing the sick and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and prayer and fellowship Acts 2:38-46

I thought I was baptized by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ? I did not think I had to do anything but believe in him and follow his command to love God above all and to love your neighbor as you love yourself. though it would be works! I would get baptized out of reverence and love and respect to God. but no water will wash the blood from me.

@ruflychux what if i had a fear of following god, what if i had a phobia of this or that....come on what ifs are straw men and not a way to get to the truth. look if you dont like what the bible says and if you want to risk your souls over what ifs then go ahead. act 2 does say the baptism is for the remission of sins, therefore it is essential. end of story

Brother Pearl ,, What are the proper words to say when getting baptised or baptising someone ? example I baptise thee in the name of the Father , the son and the holy spirit ?? should you add the person's name as well ? “I now baptize you in the name of the father and the son and the holy spirit for the forgiveness of your sins, and the gift of the holy spirit.” the one who will baptize says “because of your good confession I now baptize you in the name of the Father, & of the Son, & of the Holy Spirit & your name will be added in the book of life”. My question is, do we have the right or authority to declare that the name of the one who is going to be baptized will be added in the book of life? should i add that when i get baptised ?
